  • Here’s our first look at the Spectra RGB colour lighting controller by Garmin Marine.
It’s a robust, feature rich product, and long overdue!
The controller is used with colour changing products such as RGB lighting in speakers and underwater lights. It must be connected to the Garmin NMEA2000 network to bring up the spectra lighting app, and via RJ45 between the Spectra module and Fusion unit to get the lighting to sync with the dominant music beat! Each of the three channels can achieve control of LED lighting up to 2amps, channels can be joined in parallel with each other or pairs of speakers grouped.
All in all, it’s a great product and and even better RGB option than the original fusion

Is it necessary to connect the fusion to the rj45 network to obtain sound synchronization?

Just to confirm: have the spectra, chartplotter and Fusion stereo networked via nmea2000 and then also fusion stereo to chartplotter via rj45?.. I'm all linked up via nmea2000 but don't get audio zones showing currently

@@chase_em First you need to know that synchronization only works with the Apollo series, then you must make the link via Garmin network and N2K, make sure that you have Fusion Link enabled on your plotter. Then in the Spectra configuration you should choose the audio zone, I am about to implement this system, let me know if you succeed, good luck

@RicardoMedero-i4t thanks heaps! It's all running now. Plugged in a cat 6 cable, updated the RA670 and that's all that was left. Cheers
