A clip of Chris Arp playing an early version of Imogen's Puzzle for a school recital. Excuse the poor VHS rip but I don't believe this was released in any other format.
So arrived at this video by first watching an old Fred Durst interview on Howard. I was going through the auditions and found this guitarist. Amazing, I hope he is still playing
video quality doesn`t matter, sound is good, and even if the video quality was full HD and zoomed on his fret you wouldn`t catch 50% of fingermoves. thanks!
god this song is so cool... like no music theory lesson can teach you to come up with riffs and music like this. sooo creative and different and skilled and fucking badass godd haha
@AdamSm0kesCrack Ye that makes the point more clear to everyone, but was wondering about if they are still playing together? Seems as if they don't do live shows anymore at least?
To chaoshellbound Well they started the band 2002 so I were confused with that NickInjection wrote 2002/2003 and then pre Psyopus cause in 2003 psyopus had allready begun composing music.
@Harclaim Also, I don't believe Chris was in school. He's 32 or 33 right now. That means he's like 24 or 25 and in school? This is probably from before 2002 or 2003.
Comparing bands and guitarists? You all obviously don't realize how moronic it sounds so let me point that out to you. Although there more accurate two handed tappers, and orthodox shredders, and there are writers who are way more complex, Arp is still a highly talented guitarist. He uses his unique blend of skills and originality in an innovative way, playing his style of music. Stop comparing. Start contrasting maybe. Maybe then you'll develop some real artistic appreciation.
Honestly dude, I still can't stand him. Psyopus would be absolute genius if they would just scrap the vocalist all together. I can say the same for most other Mathcore bands.
i guess you guys aren't ready for that yet, but your kids are gonna love it
Pure musical genius. Chris Arp is one of the greatest guitarists ever.
This still never fails to amaze me. Shame Psyopus are done and Chris Arp doesn't seem to be active online anymore.
he's still on Facebook
When PsyOpus end?
@@PlatnumWarriorAitzel he has another band I forgot the name. But it’s good

He is, go to his channel, he's releasing new material daily...
Chris Arp and PsyOpus are just incredible.
This video is just... magical. Thank you for dedicating your time for the arts, Mr. Arp. You are truly a legend.
Pre-Psyopus as in before Psyopus was formed.
Goddamn how have I never heard this song before I swear I've heard parts of this in hundreds of different metal songs before.
godliness. Chris Arp is awesome. Great song.

thanks to this man, i have begun to understnad quantumness.

very good!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i love PSYOPUS
That last frame...
he makes me look at my guitar in a whole different way .
ahah holy shit that can't be the same guy i saw live.
this is some sweet ass shit
god gave him fingers of magic lol
and psyopus as a whole owns also
i love how you can tell this is imogens puzzle XD
His speed is much faster than king crimson though
I think psyopus is better with a vocalist, it wouldnt be as chaotic and what not. Instrumental bands get old because theyre missing that
Oh wow your right i didnt think of it in that aspect.
@AdamSm0kesCrack
Ye that makes the point more clear to everyone, but was wondering about if they are still playing together? Seems as if they don't do live shows anymore at least?
its like a mixture of both parts
Yeah, hopefully nobody was planning to play after him...
i wonder what the kids there thought of this while chris is shredding
@PickUpYourLighters hes mad chill too

What is the name of the guitarist that he mentions early in the video that he said was inspirational? I couldn't catch it.
lucky school
DAMN

What the name of guitarist he dedicates the piece to in the beginning?
Actually it was his possible sponsors but close.
the new version is way cleaner sounding
I kinda heard "Johann Fischer" but i think that might be because i really like Johann Fischer.
the whole idea of playing this style is to be different. if he played what you're telling him he *should* be playing.. he'd be like everyone else.
nvm, got it, johan fostier
how are they connected?
derp.
more like muhammed is "mantastic". he writes all of the music for that band. guitar, bass, drums and lyrics. the man is a god.
wow this is cool haha
O_O
thats why most of this song is easily followable! its early! before his mind went completely insane.
u mean mathcore........ and they didnt invent it they just make it awsome
I love how out of tune this sounds.
i actualy think this version is better if he had played it cleaner
haha good one

It couldn't be the shitty camcorder... you are right.
Johann Sabastian Bach.
who the fuck is his guitar teacher? i must know.
What do you mean with pre Psyopus?? Do you mean prevous maby?

Delay and Reverb ruins it all
Ver talented...too bad he's wasted.
thanks :) and u have poor taste
that sounds stupid

Probably because Psyopus' vocalist completely blows. Makes the rest of the band look bad.
Both are pretty piss poor IMO. The screamo/high growls are pretty god damn annoying. Shame that such vocals could ruin an otherwise brilliant band.
