Summer '91 - I had just turned 11, just got of elementary school and always was bummed when I had to miss this. I had to catch up through ABC episodes magazines. I freakin' loved those and mags and read them cover to cover(all 3 shows) over and over again. What an awesome time in history. Too bad it's all gone.
Patricia Elliott really shines in these scenes. Renee finally tells the truth, as painful as it was for her to do so. Asa goes from denial and anger to acceptance and understanding in such a short time, has to be a world's record for him, lol. Gabrielle's lucky she's in prison at this point and DuAnn is definitely better off in the world beyond, where they're safe from Asa's wrath. Jon's a lot more understanding about getting the brush off from Cassie than most guys would be. I have a feeling Alex and Dorian are not going to be pleased about this. Still, Cassie would have been better off keeping her distance from the Buchanans, in general.
It's so surreal seeing Alex not be zany. And she was so right here about eventually becoming a part of the Buchanan family..just not in the way she imagined...at this point lol
I always wondered if deep down in that crazy, Bo-obsessed mind of hers, Alex still had delusions of getting together with him, even when she was married to his father.
I know we're entering the weird limbo period before Rauch leaves (the end of a mostly great, definitely highest rated OLTL era) and Gottlieb arrives (overall a critically overrated era - though there are standout stories & characters, the show's structure was wildly inconsistent, always BTS turmoil / fear of Gottlieb's wrath, and in hindsight only a moderate increase in ratings). More and more in these months, you can start seeing the missed opportunities that more thoughtful writers would have picked up on. The DuAnn murder "mystery" of course has a very predictable outcome, and as you'll soon find out, doesn't have much ripple effect on characters apart from what you see right here. So wouldn't it have been more interesting if Cassie had somehow already stepped into the Duann mess (perhaps with her reporter instinct, smelling a blackmail rat)? And right here in these scenes, instead of simply being distracted / annoyed by Cassie with Bo, Alex uses her connection to the investigation to plant red-herring evidence and create chaos for Cassie? While the writing feels disjointed in the coming months, and whole production starts feeling weird through the summer (a mishmash of Rauch style / almost no POV with quirky Gottlieb-isms creeping in)... OLTL for me wouldn't feel 100% like itself again - in a cohesive way - until almost 17 years later with Valentini / Carlivati. That's not to say it didn't have times of greatness - it certainly did. But from here forward, there was always something that felt unsteady and unfocused, that weighed down the end result.
@@Chris-cu3fc maybe you could actually find that scene. It was something to behold, I can assure you.... Possibly worse than the time he dressed up as a royal king, but that truly was a tough act to follow
Cord has been MIA. He wasn't even at the Ho down. He should have been there for sure. They get on my nerves mentioning him and he is outside or looking for Max and he is not even there

Cheers for the episode finally Renee tells asa about what’s happened

Alex never seemed really "zany" to me...more clingy and unstable.
She just kept it better hidden before.
Thank you so much for the upload!😊
Rafe and Jon ✊ Cord always busy off screen lol
I would love to have a collection of all the old Eterna episodes!
They're on this channel. Basically the entire month of February 1989.
@@chiefmac88 thank you, I had no idea!

This Max bugs me more than the other Max. His acting is way over the top!
I think the original Max comes back pretty soon. Maybe September or October of 91? I could be wrong.
@chiefmac88 no, you're right. I looked it up a few days ago because I, too, heard he came back around this time.
40:16 LOL Joey always busting Kevin!
26:12 Oh shut it Asa!
Horrible recast on Tina and Max, but OLTL struck gold with Elaine taking on the role of Dorian
36:36 Friendship? LOL GMAB!
At this point, Dorian didn't give an eff what Alex thought.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Where was Cord during all of this?
Maybe he was off visiting Deborah so they could dance to "ballerina girl" by Lionel Richie again
🤭🤭
