Saucony Ride 17 Review: A cheaper Saucony Triumph 21 alternative?

Hey people welcome to The Run Testers. And in this video we’re bringing you our full multi-tester review of the new Saucony Ride 17. It’s an upgrade to Saucony’s neutral daily trainer that’s designed to be versatile enough to eat a wide range of regular weekly miles. And a potential cheaper Saucony Triumph 21 alternative. Triumph 21 should get discounted soon enough, so I think it's going to be the better value in no time!

loved the ride 16...honestly dont mind the pwrrun EVA foam. only gripe is it becomes super firm in the cold.
I have about 300 miles on my triumph 20s. I like them a lot but they just feel awkward for my biomechanics so Im glad the ride 17 is returning with a little more pep and an 8mm drop

I’ve tried them and found the toe box tight. You’ll definitely notice it if you try them and some other shoes that are wider (the Triumph 21 for example).

Hated the midsole in the Ride 16. Love the Triumph 20 and 21. I guess 17 is a good idea. This and Triumph 22 when it is out ❤

I can't understand why companies do that thing with eyelet. Why do they want to reinvent the wheel;
Every time I saw something like that, sometimes it's a deal breaker.
Normal eyelets, and it's just fine!!!

It seems like a nice shoe. I think there are so many great shoes on discount right now that you can get cheaper though. Triumph 20 is on discount. Triumph 21 likely to go down soon. I've seen the Deviate Nitro 2 heavily discounted.

I have both the Ride 17 and Triumph 21, and the Ride 17 is wider across both the toe box, and tread at the forefoot. The Triumph fits me very well, the Ride 17 doesn't; I'll be sending the Ride 17 back.

Looks like those eyelets are going to cost Saucony a lot in warranty claims, which they seem to be real good about honoring.

Is this shoe made to run a marathon?

Any cushioned shoe can do it...people ran marathons in firm brick shoes 20 years ago.

Still confused when you would use a ride 17 or triumph 22?

both shoes have a different drop for one. 8mm in ride vs 10mm in triumph which if youre not a heel striker, a lower drop might be better for your biomechanics. Also i think it,s a slightly different pwrrun plus material in the ride.

This makes no sense. The new ride is Power Run +. Also you say the Triumph 21 is superior to the T21. What the…? Haha
