Love that doll cabinet! Seeing those glass doll cabinets remind me of how the Strong Museum of Play would have some Barbie dolls on display after they shut down the Barbie exhibit that was adjacent to the eGameRevolution (aka the video game exhibit). Most of the Barbies were the "Barbies Around The World" dolls where it showed a Barbie in a Dutch outfit, Barbie in a Can-Can outfit (as the Can-Can dance is from France!), and some Wizard of Oz Barbies. I love how you had those dolls of different cultures...it makes me think of how I would make my dolls ethnically diverse, and Susan (my JLY 4) was a Japanese-American doll and Roxanne Tiana Carter (and yes, I did get her middle name from Princess Tiana from The Princess and the Frog...Tiana is my favorite Disney princess), my TrulyMe 47 who is African-American. Sun Pak (my JLY 30) was designated as being Korean thanks to my father going to Korea so many times for his jobs that it was unreal...Reina Fuentes (my TM 119 doll) was my first doll who I decided that she would be Filipino because I felt the Nanea face mold had a bit of a Filipina vibe to it. Kim Dinh (formerly Gwynn Tan) was made Vietnamese since I was obsessed with the musical Miss Saigon, and the lead character is named Kim (the first actress to play Kim in Miss Saigon was Lea Salonga, who you might know as Princess Jasmine's singing voice in the original Aladdin film from 1992). When you showed your boy dolls, the one in the very back with the blonde hair sorta reminded me of Luke Sullivan or William Guile from Street Fighter - I will add that I have been playing a lot of Street Fighter 6 on my Playstation 5 as of late. Speaking of my AG collection, Sun (the aforementioned JLY 30) is being shipped to the doll hospital to get her legs replaced since they're not only loose, but one of her ankles has a black mark on it which I was trying to get rid of with the acne cream (or benzoyl peroxide) trick I saw on Stephenswodadancer's channel ages ago when I noted her legs were loose. Maybe someday I'll have a custom doll looking like Chun-Li from Street Fighter - preferably in her old outfit.
Thank you for sharing some of your collection! I enjoyed your tour. The girl doll on the shelf with the boys (nice dolls!) is dressed like a Playboy Bunny. Playboy was a magazine very popular in the 1960s published by Hugh Hefner. He also had Playboy Clubs through the nation. The waitresses there wore that Bunny outfit. Footnote: Gloria Steinem, publisher of Ms magazine and considered by some to be the founder of the feminist movement in the 1960s worked as a Playboy Bunny to expose the misogyny of Hugh Hefner's empire. You got a special doll there, my friend.
