I love how this theme is steadily ominous and reminiscent of the themes when Arcueid just loses it in her Luminous Body form.
It's like a subconscious hint that, in contrast to her beautiful appearence, *that thing right there is DANGEROUS.* Like an Angel from Evangelion.
Basically, a "never judge a book by its cover" situation.

Indeed: this theme helps to remind us that, even if she's truly adorable, Arcueid is an ANCIENT and POWERFUL being. If she becomes angry, you should be SCARED of her.

This track was used perfectly when Shiki meets Arc. Every time I listen to this I think of that scene and how brilliant it was. The way it quickly becomes clear that this isn’t just another use of the boy meets girl trope and the fear I felt reading on for what Shiki was about to do even though I knew what was going to happen having read the original.
2:34 to 4:01 really feels like the music itself is saying that Shiki is at the point of return and will do something horrible. It’s just perfect. The version of this scene in the remake is the definitive version and I doubt any other future version could top it.

People say this reminds them of how Arc is scary and powerful. Well I don't really agree. Yeah ofc she can be, but this theme is about way more than that.
It shows the pain and dread of her existence she has to endure as a bloodsucker True ancestor, and the constant tightrope they have to walk with Shiki to be together. It's a really depressing theme actually.
