wow you are so laidback not stressed at all, you are going on this fantastic Alaska cruise with your mother //GOD bless you ...you still have a mother ..lucky you. Doing my contract I had week to do my physical /Las vegas nv ..Dr faxed all info directly to cruiseline, passed physical and then cruiseline flew me there to miami from airport they shuttled me to hotel then next morning I ate a light contiental breakfast 8am, 8:30am on the shuttle to the port and maybe 30-40 other ship employees boarded this big shuttle bus, yes before all that I had few days to put all my stuff into storage and away i went ...it could be stressful & I do not know how calm you can be. You have what 4-5days to do your physical sub lease your apt and go on cruise. You won't be a typical employee like cabin steward so their cabins are way on bottom and they work long hours. Entertainers don't work as many hours we worked 3hrs day think ate pretty decent at buffet so not too shabby.

You don't need a medical exam for every contract. It's good for two years, unless you change to a different cruise line. You can often renew it with the doctor onboard the ship.
A couple of questions. How did the travel agency you had partnered with take to you up and leaving them so close to signing with them? Will you be able to, at some point, bring your girl onto the ship? You really want to work a straight "job", than do what you were doing? (being paid to cruise and create content) Just curious and good luck.
