It take balls to even sign up to the military if it be Army RAF or navy what's the difference they are serving our country Let's respect these men and women before slagging them off
Can’t hate on raf Reg tbh, training is tougher than many realise. Would love to see a series where the paras, Royal Marines and raf reg go and try each other’s main training tests such as p company, para pre selection etc. See who really comes on top.
Last point I would take there full wings off them and give them a bulb to put at the bottom of the right arm. They haven't passed P company. Therefore you wear a bulb
How interesting the comments are. Have any of you lot got lives in the real world? Any of you earn over 20,000 pa ? Did you think your Queen would look after you ? No one cares 😂
You obviously don't understand or have read the GAI notification on the issuing of both Parachute Wings and the Lightbulb... But never mind, I'm not here to educate you... And as I have mentioned on other posts on here regarding misconceptions on who or how one qualifies to attend the Basic at No 1 PTS? It has nothing to do with which selection process you pass for a particular combat unit, that's between you, the criteria to serve and the contract you enter into with that particular unit. The RAF and in particular PTS has no interest in that just as long as you arrive from a quote "Sponsoring Unit" . There is also the question of both the OCs discretion and MOD privileged requests and requirements... Hope this helps, just an observation 👍
There's nothing wrong with the RAF Reg they are a good bunch of lads. Every unit thinks they are the best and 2 Sqn is no different. People give 2 Sqn a bad name but have never been there or even worked with them. As an ex 2 Sqn lad I had some of the best times of my life serving with them.
Neither of them failed, II Sqdrn are primarily an airborn assault company much like the paras. The fact this guy felt inspired to wear his wings and hand in hand with his maroon t shirt hand has nothing to do with the fact they failed. I’d really love you to go and have a nice chat with there OC just so they all know they should’ve gone the paras as apparently they’ve failed.
These guys just stag on and dream about being real men. On SFSG they failed all but one range phase with blokes not even knowing how to sort a gas stoppage tossers. I know I was the RCO....
My Dad was 2 Sqn. Did a 3 year detachment to the Marines, pissed the entry course. Served 37 years everywhere from Belfast to Basra. Bosnia to Baghdad .Never complained about PTSD, never asked for anything. Did his job. Now we' ve got so called "veterans" trying to piss on his chips. Fucking embarassing.
Calum, not one of these knobbers and Walts would walk up to your old man and say any of this shite to his face. I think i know who your old man might be and if its who i think he is he did indeed float into the Marines without breaking sweat. Be proud. Per Ardua
Well said Callum, I might have served with you Dad at sometime, I knew a Steele at my time of service. Half of these people here have no idea about Parachute operations, the requirements and quite frankly how it all works. TBH it fucking amazes me that some here who attend a 4 week Basic course become overnight experts on everything Military Parachuting, but hey isn't that just Par with Gen X rewriting the narrative..!
Many years ago i was a techy attached to 11sqn RAF regt. I ran em ragged in the BFT! They couldn't get near me. I was a fit lad though at that time..sub 5 minute miler, and ten miles in under 1 hour.
Classic. I'll keep my trade secret for now, good bunch of lads, but just basically airfield guards. Having said that, credit to all my fellow brits in the forces.
Talking of trade secrets Winston I ll like your attitude mate, well done👍👍 I ll keep and have always kept mine and please do trust me when I say that I'm not a quote LAY person on the subject of Military Parachuting..! I bet PTS keeps many trade secrets..!
I’ve applied for reg and to be honest all these comments are putting me off lmao, I’m sure I’ll enjoy it most of the time but I agree there’s no need to puff your chest all this elitist bullshit, no way would the 5 mile trek to the NAAFI would outdo a marine yomp 😂
DO NOT let these comments put you off..! I'm not going to go into a big spiel needless to say that I served in 2 Regiments and One Branch and I served alongside some of the finest men on this earth from all units and all walks of life. Whichever unit you join just understand their role, their means and the contract you are entering into. I will remind you and this is an undisputable historical fact that the RAF Regt is the only ground unit to see Active Service every year since World War 2... Trust this helps and just an observation, good luck with your career!
Can someone tell me why RAF reg is bad as at what I have read they protect their bases and that's it their not elite they are security guards I wanna join them some day
fuckin hell lads use are all tacking the piss out of 2 sqn on here I've served with them but I went AWOL so I have no allegiance because the bosses hated me. But they are good lads on sac, corporal and sergeant level. it used to piss me off we never got some tasty jobs like marines and paras but the lads wanted them. I just think the mod spent more money on training they didn't want to use us as cannon fodder like the marines and paras. don't get me wrong marines and paras are good but 2 sqn took marines on jungle training when I was there in Belize and guess what the 7 marines failed and got sent home. Gods honest truth. I think the only thing the paras and marines have got over 2 sqn is numbers, thats it. So gets your heads out your own fuckin arses.
It wasn't so long ago that these walt's got a good shooing down at sennybridge of some bootys for speaking out of turn about the reg eg para reg.I'm sure the reg would return the compliment, but you see that would be difficult because these clowns wouldn't be stupid enough to be in the same drinking establishment! Especially in them maroon t shirts ! They would fully understand what out performed meant then!!
RAF Reg get unfair slagging. Always compared to obviously elite units and then called crap?? You could compate paras and RM to SAS and say they arent very good therefore couldnt you?
You don’t do p company your not Paras If your so fit why not do the all arms p company??? Make up your own course and call yourself airborne!!!! I’m fuming. !!! I worked hard for my wings and beret !!!! This is a disgrace to all true Airborne
Women can do P Comp, it's just brain washing to get as many low class fodder to die for snotty bastards. 9 years for what? The government treat us all like crap. Chill out buddy.
You mean what's right with the RAF Reg? Allow me to explain. They think they're an elite force, and they don't even come close to it. But hey, if you wish to be mocked forever then go for it. lol
Nothing wrong at all. Just don't compare yourself to units better trained and more rigorously selected than you. You will be trained to fulfil your role, which is static force protection in the main. You will sleep in a nice comfy bed and eat decent food. You won't have to eat/sleep/live/shit/piss in a ditch on duty.
I'm fully aware of what the Parachute Regs' P-Company involves and their All-arms airborne course so can someone please tell me what happens in the RAF regiments pre-parachute course which they state is their version of "P-Company"? How is it different? and how come they don't just do the para reg' all-arms course like other non parachute regiment soldiers?
@SSR Suspension Thankyou for this in depth insight into the psyche of those individuals,i can appreciate what you are saying about not fitting in,those that feel they are somehow superior are really not but the ego they have is unbelievable and it's that ego that creates the problems. it is interesting to note how you state that the role of the Regt has changed, there is a definite evolution throughout the military in general, there has to be!. had no idea so many went to Hereford. The points about NI were interesting, thanks.
Having served in the RAF myself, I'll have you know the rocks can go toe to toe with RM or the paras. At Scrabble.

It take balls to even sign up to the military if it be Army RAF or navy what's the difference they are serving our country
Let's respect these men and women before slagging them off
Can’t hate on raf Reg tbh, training is tougher than many realise. Would love to see a series where the paras, Royal Marines and raf reg go and try each other’s main training tests such as p company, para pre selection etc. See who really comes on top.
You don’t see the raf reg doing the Cambrian patrol for a reason.
I respect RAF Reg, but I can't imagine these lads going from trench to trench, bayonetting 15-yr-old Argies in the Falklands, 1982...😄🥸🤠😎
Last point I would take there full wings off them and give them a bulb to put at the bottom of the right arm. They haven't passed P company. Therefore you wear a bulb
Only baby paras need to do p coy.
How interesting the comments are.
Have any of you lot got lives in the real world? Any of you earn over 20,000 pa ?
Did you think your Queen would look after you ?
No one cares 😂
Wrong mate. So the Royal Marines who are para trained should wear a 💡
They do the same P Company as Paras mate for 2 Squadron.
The G4S of the military, bunch of screamers!! 😆😆😆😆
Gonna tell my kids this is the SAS
Jesus wept, I was cringing all the way through that. 🤢
5 miler ? Real Paras do 10
Jesus Christ, is it comic relief day again or something? 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Airport security
Screaming hats...
Your equivalents to P COMPANY, WHAT DO YOU LOT DO ON THIS SO CALLED P COMPANY OF YOURS.
Do the SNCOs ask your opinion on what pizza to have? Absolute REMFs.
I think you would get treated better in the RAF than Army , plus its no like its WW2 who wants to be up the front fighting afgans anyway.
Because you don’t know any better
4.33 'being able to wear your maroon t-shirt', eh, why do they see need to wear a maroon t-shirt? They all failed, wannabe Para Regt?
Well you'd fit into that wannabe category as well wouldn't ya!
He passed it 😂
Neither of them failed, II Sqdrn are primarily an airborn assault company much like the paras. The fact this guy felt inspired to wear his wings and hand in hand with his maroon t shirt hand has nothing to do with the fact they failed. I’d really love you to go and have a nice chat with there OC just so they all know they should’ve gone the paras as apparently they’ve failed.
Look in to the eyes of another man….that’s gay even for the RAF.
These guys just stag on and dream about being real men. On SFSG they failed all but one range phase with blokes not even knowing how to sort a gas stoppage tossers. I know I was the RCO....
Fraggle Rockapes
5 mile death march... enough said 😂
Priceless!
Look in the eyes of another man. Yep sounds like the RAF Girls in uniform
Outperforming the Paras and RM of SFSG. You heard it here first........... and only here folks 🤣🤣🤣
It happened pal! The fight that it caused even made it into the sun news paper! Fact!
Howling throbbers, not good enough to be soldiers... not smart enough to be MPGS.
And why do you lot go on the all arms P company. I know why most of you would fail
dont really wanna join now
Pete Lynegarr brought me here
2 balloon Sqn
What are the actual 'events' that they have to complete?
The dreaded five miler of death mate
They are mince. Well done for opening the camp gates to let the Taliban in nubs
Follow the story, err no thanks. Toughest training in the British military aye right.
The RAF are part of the British Military? Ryanair ground staff are more warlike.
Be proud. Per Ardua
Entry course what are you on about
Bollocks your dad talks shit nobber!
Fucking lol
Many years ago i was a techy attached to 11sqn RAF regt. I ran em ragged in the BFT! They couldn't get near me. I was a fit lad though at that time..sub 5 minute miler, and ten miles in under 1 hour.
TCW?
Ten miles under an hour? You sure lol
Carrying weight ? Lol u don’t run into to battle with shorts and T-Shirt on 🤣🤣
Classic. I'll keep my trade secret for now, good bunch of lads, but just basically airfield guards. Having said that, credit to all my fellow brits in the forces.
Agreed airfield guards however when I was at bastion it was the army guarding the cook house and the raf reg where always on the ground or doing mert
No.2 don’t do any guarding that’s no.2 squadron
Talking of trade secrets Winston I ll like your attitude mate, well done👍👍 I ll keep and have always kept mine and please do trust me when I say that I'm not a quote LAY person on the subject of Military Parachuting..! I bet PTS keeps many trade secrets..!
Air REMFS 😂
Somebody has to guard the EFI you know.
Tyler Buet just join the infantry of you want to do infantry stuff
You'll be alright. Just remember that you will be trained to do the RAF Regts job and no more than that.
Wow oh just wow
dafuq happened to the dislike bar?
21 Mothers of dead terrorists watched this?
I got to 1 min and rapped.
what a bunch of strokers
i hope your ready for butthurt marines and paras
Hahahahalol
5 miles of death 😂😂😂😂😂😂
5 miler of death 😁
Maroon t-shirts . . . hahaha
To call our guys "Paras" is an insult. RAF Reg have brains !!
Walts.
UP YOURS
Can someone tell me why RAF reg is bad as at what I have read they protect their bases and that's it their not elite they are security guards I wanna join them some day
No one ever said that they were bad at their job, they just claim to be as elite as paras and RM which is BS.
Raf reg lol
Haaaaattttsssss!!!
fuckin hell lads use are all tacking the piss out of 2 sqn on here I've served with them but I went AWOL so I have no allegiance because the bosses hated me.
Chill out buddy.
really whats wrong with the RAF reg i am going to be joining the reg.
You mean what's right with the RAF Reg? Allow me to explain. They think they're an elite force, and they don't even come close to it. But hey, if you wish to be mocked forever then go for it. lol
The only fucking Reg is the Regiment. The SAS, calling yourself "the reg" when all you do is force protection in bastion is laughable.
They are shite
did you joib?
Lol
Failed Paras ....Good luck to them...
Pre Para?... RAF Pre Para...
RFC are pre Para.
What's there fucking pre para I bet you it's shite. And why don't they do the all arms p company
ROCK ON.
@SSR Suspension Thankyou for your detailed reply about my query and explaination, much appreciated.
@SSR Suspension Thankyou for this info regarding the role of 2 squadron within the SFSG ,very interesting.
