I love trips to the Black Forest! Your natural lean-to shelter was nice. I've constructed these myself and to get it right takes some skills and patience. The shots of your fire building the glowing bed of embers looked to me almost ready for scrying. Thank you. Such a neat little fire for cookimg. I like it. The wind is so strong here most of the time the fire would be blown out into the tall grass and a huge fire would occur. It is grasslands. But, I still like that little fire. .

One a vid you said about insects biting and not being able to find a good deterrent. So I looked up mosquitoes. Apparently peppermint oil is said to be good. A stick insect secretes a white substance from behind its head that wards off it enemies. The substance resembles peppermint in its scent. So I looked this up. In Bulgaria, where I now live, there is a company that grows peppermint, and turns it into oil. They recommend is for the purpose of warding off mosquitoes. Maybe chewing peppermint gum may also help as you breath out the smell of peppermint. You should be able to buy both where you live. Just an idea. Look it up.

Such a neat little fire for cookimg. I like it. The wind is so strong here most of the time the fire would be blown out into the tall grass and a huge fire would occur. It is grasslands. But, I still like that little fire.

One a vid you said about insects biting and not being able to find a good deterrent. So I looked up mosquitoes. Apparently peppermint oil is said to be good. A stick insect secretes a white substance from behind its head that wards off it enemies. The substance resembles peppermint in its scent. So I looked this up. In Bulgaria, where I now live, there is a company that grows peppermint, and turns it into oil. They recommend is for the purpose of warding off mosquitoes. Maybe chewing peppermint gum may also help as you breath out the smell of peppermint. You should be able to buy both where you live. Just an idea. Look it up.

Nice to see you do the meat offering. Traditional Native American cultures did this too. They would cut the best cuts of meat from their meal & throw it into the fire; a gift to the Spirits.
