    I can anecdotally testify that Zyn has probably saved my lungs. Started smoking around 13-14. It's now a decade later and I've gone through all the motions: Smoked socially, got addicted, quit for two years, started again, switched to vaping, then tried Zyn for the first time about 5 months ago I'd say. Have barely touched my vape in the past few weeks, let alone cigarettes. I bought a pack of Marlboro last month and still haven't finished it. It took some time to get used to the switch, but it's done wonders.

      @@YouAdmireThisName Nice dude keep it up, I used to smoke through out my teens too quit smoking everyday when I was 20 and would just socially smoke at bars when drinking occasionally than just vaped and used nicorette. Ended up vaping again everyday but lungs started hurting so I tried on which is another brand of pouches and I love them, stopped vaping except randomly but I feel healthier don't have any health problems from the nicotine pouches besides sometimes I'll get nauseous if I have too many too fast lol. I love them though they're great and useful for anyone trying to quit smoking, vaping, or chewing and a lot safer than tobacco.

    Snus is better, I don’t get that super buzz, I just get that euphoric focus power and I like that, it’s probably more neuro protective but I’d rather use these products once a week just to get through something, I’ll also stick to my coffee on most days but moderation is key and I’m addicted to that

    • @DanielAnderssson
      @DanielAnderssson 2 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      Well all addictions starts with "only in moderation". Nicotine is the most overrated shit ever. It only works somewhat the first couple of times. Then you are just feeding your addiction. Glad I quit snus, feeling much better.

    • @JZGreengo
      @JZGreengo 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@DanielAnderssson well what do we mean by moderation? I think having a consistent dose is much more like moderate usage than having an absurd dose that throws you emotionally around a roller coaster, there’s a reason why psychiatry exists, it’s because when we don’t dose, we become unstable and moderation can mean a lot of things.
      Dependency is fine, some of us need to medicate our mental neurological disorders to stay alive.
      Nicotine has therapeutic benefits like caffeine, dose matters and moderation in the dose matters, balance is key.
      You did a good thing for quitting, you were chasing a dragon that couldn’t be caught so I respect you for that but I still think there’s therapeutic effects from nicotine, it’s the buzz that is overrated, I hate it, I like the after effects from a buzz, the focus effects and mood boost. I think ZYN and other nicotine pouch brands is one of the safest ways to ingest nicotine. If you're going to be addicted to nicotine this is probably the best thing you can do for you health except for quitting.
    Anyone who is considering it however, take note that it is in my experience even harder than cigarettes to quit. Reason being that the nicotine dosage is a lot higher and you keep your blood saturated for longer periods. (Ciggies are more quick rush and then it dies) Snus or nicotine pouches will have the nicotine stay in your blood for longer. And, since you can pretty much use it all the time (no need to walk outside to smoke) it makes it even harder to quit.
    But it's nice.

      They also come in different strengths (1 to 4 dots) which is helpful if you want to taper off and quit using nicotine. The label on it specifies how much nicotine one pouch/dose contains in milligrams or the total amount in grams of one container (easy to divide by the number of pouches).
      Compared to vaping/smoking it's much easier to control your intake.
      The only issue I've come across is that some brands contain artificial sweeteners/stabilizers/sourness (eg. E 950). I'm allergic to artificial sour flavours, unfortunately.

Since you basically are ingesting that sweetener almost all day every day. I realise that there's pro's and cons to everything but I've never heard anyone talk about it. It would be cool with a neutral flavored variant if you just want the nicotine. about a year and a half ago, I decided to try nicotine pouches. Came across it when I saw the cans in a shop a couple of years ago. Of course being in the UK, our illustrious and ever so wise leaders decided to make snus illegal, even though they approve medicinal nicotine prpducts for smoking cessation. This is probably because big tobacco means big tax, so we have tobacco free pouches instead... which is quite contradictory. It's crazy that the cans are brightly coloured and flavoured. The idea behind making our cigarette boxes have a standard design with horrible images of smoking related illnesses was to deter smoking in the first place. It's the nicotine that gets you hooked on smoking So my only bug bear with nicotine pouches is that they're visually attractive and flavoured. Smoking cessation research does not even support their efficacy for cessation because there's not enough to go on yet. Nicotine pouches have really helped me and I've had non smoker non nicotine friends ask me if they could try one. I always refuse to hand one over. It's massively addictive and distracting. Like getting caught out with no smokes you'll do anything for a quick fix. I know I've sold stuff just to buy smokes. You'll waste so much time and health with nicotine products. Tobacco free nicotine pouches are definitly safer than smoking but being addicted to the drug itself is a pain in the ass. Don't let pouches be a gateway to smoking as I've seen. I've tried everything to get off cigarettes. All the government approved smoking cessation nicotine replacement products. Problem is, non of it worked. The name of those products prove it. Nicotine replacement therapy products. They replace with nothing. They should be called nicotine reduction therapy products. If you have an oral fixation related to smoking like I have, then how's it going to work? These pouches have kept me off smoking because my mouth is doing something and I'm getting the nicotine. I'm healthier and feel more active for it. Once I'm comfortable enough, I'll go down the NRT route again to get off completely.

      You are correct, once a chunk of my incisor came off I couldn’t dip anymore but there’s so much nicotine in dip I’d have to chain smoke to keep my body happy from the addiction, even tho that’s a bad thing

    Snus is proven quite safe after centuries of use, but these pouches aren't proven by time. They're probably safer than snus, surely way better than chew.
