Man, I did this tutorial 8 MONTHS ago. And then I came back today after realizing that there was something I learned from this particular tutorial that I needed for my current project. That's awesome lol
I have no idea why this one doesn't have any more likes. You're no-nonsense, easy-spoken and you have a good sense of what any learner needs. Good job!
@@UnrealEngineTutorials Do you have a snippy response in how I'd convert this into orthographic or orthographic-ish? Don't bother if you don't have time.

Just watching this now, amazing. One thing I did notice, while playing around. Select all the static meshes, right click and go to Asset Actions \ Bulk Edit via Matrix. In that, select all the meshes again and change collision to simple complex all at once under the static mesh\body setup drop down. Much faster to set collisions.
This tutorial is perfect bro. It clearly isnt very scripted. It's just you and the engine. You dont over explain information that bores me and is easy to forget. This is how I like to learn. Just work along side you and get something rolling. Very good video. I'll be looking for a part 2 when I'm finished following this video! Well done bro!
I’m doing a gaming subject and I’m so confused, im having a hard time processing how this software works, we have to create a shoot em up game in UE, this is fantastic! Thank you!😭🙏
Unreal does have a template for Twin Stick Shooters and he could use what he did here in that. This is just me but I loved paragon and love that all the assets are free to use now. I just mess around and use them to make different games
Just small ask: could you please also add timestamps for the video? So it will simplify navigation for anyone who needs specific topic covered( e.g. I don't need walkthrough how to work with QP or UE Editor UI, but I appreciate the information about GI doesn't work with the new UE5 lightning system). Thanks in advance.
I've watched about 5 different channels about UE5 now and you're by far the best in explaining things that actually stick with me, really considering to get some of your courses! Will the UE4 courses translate well to UE5?
Yes we need the a part 2 part 3 part 4 too. hehe. You are awesome. Can we toggle between game modes inside the game. like if we have 3 characters in game if we wanna play particular character. can we play it when other characters are following the main chosen character?
when you said, you won't need any landscape and then created a simple collision to your mesh, you could also have mentioned, that a landscape is super efficient for collision because the alpha map defines the height in space. It is not important for your project, but i like when people give tipps during their videos which may be helpful in their own projects. Honestly, i had to forward a little bit, did you explain about the nav mesh for ai aswell? Is the ai able to move around objects in UE5 by default, or do we still have to create a nav mesh?
Static meshes seem to be a great answer when you have small play spaces, but wouldn't they become cumbersome if you were building something larger (like an open world)?
Awesome video. I was wondering could you block out the playable area first and add the meshes for the ground and walls after you have the level fine tuned so it plays a certain way like if you want to try and guide the player in a certain direction?
Seriously a great video, spoke clear, understood everything said, only thing is your courses are for UR4 i know there may not be much difference but wondering if your going to do them in 5?

Sorry I thought about another question. I probably won’t make a top down game but I’m wondering how performance intensive it would be to simulate cloud shadows on the ground? I know you can’t see the clouds but I think it could add a small but powerful visual to see cloud shadows.
you may have mentioned it, and I missed it, but when you selected all those static meshes and made them into a blueprint, is that just to keep your workflow simpler, or did that make it "cheaper" for the engine performance wise?
