    Dad had the facelift of this 4s and i loved it. Put around 46k miles on it and only had good things to say about it. Didnt know much abt the brand before he got his but i love them now. The sound was immense, the way it changes tones throughout the rev range is different to any other engine ive heard and even as a passenger u can tell they handle amazing. Great cars

    Never was a Porsche fan growing up, but the last few years I’ve really started to appreciate the 911.
    Genuinely is an everyday supercar, a 2+2 at that. I’d happily squash my kids in the back, I reckon they’d understand the compromise. They’d ‘get’ it.

    • @cataca91
      @cataca91 ปีที่แล้ว

      yeah, but inssurance and technical control aint cheap, if you want to maintain the value of a 911, you have to get it checked at a porsche retailer/unofficial specialist which in both cases are super expensive, not to mention the gas price, but if you use it like a regular car, it wont consume that much but lets be honest you dont buy a porsche to use it like a regular car....if you press the throtle you will be a supercar levels of gas consumption

    It’s amazing to me how the SQ7 and F Pace are virtually the same draggy time. It doesn’t necessarily make the Porsche look old, it shows how much performance is in the hands of a mum or dad these days. I was expecting that sunroof to be way more, I couldn’t afford £800 for a sun roof on a brand new Alfa in 2004 😂

    Interesting you mentioned the door card, owned a 56 911 997 C4S, always thought a bit of foam through the centre section wouldn’t do any harm.
    Found it to be classless, never felt, oo not leaving it here.
    Currently on my 8th 911, for me ticks every box, I agree auto over manual, but my I wouldn’t have my 928 GT with any other gearbox than manual.
    Keep going sir

    Brown interior is class indeed... Just bought my 1st Porsche 911 997 c2s and it's brilliant! As for the bore scoring issue... They don't all suffer from it! Do your research... And after 06 it was upgraded to remove this issue😉. Another thing... Why do car reviewers always want to rev the engine when cold?!?? Respect the mechanic for crying out loud 🥴

    I got myself a 911 in 2012 (08 model) carrera 4s auto, 350bhp. Was a real nice car. I was 20 and My Mrs was pregnant, I convinced her this was a 4 seater and better family car than my 350z lol. Very good memories, fun to drive, everyone loved it. Not really that fast In a straight line though, but I'd have one again in a heartbeat. Anyone who's not had a porche, go get one, one of my lads has an old boxster, paid the same price and a second hand corsa, been dripping wet since getting it and picking up any girl that will let him 🤣 think next year when the new 911 comes out I'll be jumping back into one aswell.

    997 should be anyone's 1st 911. Never looked krap, even in period. Cool today.
    My 997 2S had the same chocolate/antique brown interior spec under Artic Silver. The steering wheel is standard to a 997 manual. Still, lovely.
    That problem you have on the air condition buttons where the label has fallen off is a standard issue with a 997.1 after 30,000 miles. A bottle of tipp-ex?

    I’ve owned a 2007 997.1 3.6 Tiptronic for about 9 years. I’m lead to believe that the 3.6 engine is less likely it to bore score. However, If you get the opportunity to get one of these cars for circa £16K you will need another £16K in reserve. Apart from the engine going 💥 there is loads of other weak points. Coolant pipes, Coil packs, various suspension components, brake lines, steering rack, rear main seal, IMS bearing to name a few. Plus tyres, brake pads & discs etc. all seem more expensive on a Porsche. The plus point is… great cars! You certainly know when you are in one. Also hold their resale value well. You have to remember before getting one, is they are approaching 20 years old. ENJOY.

    Nice car but as you say they tend to have massive engine issues. this one could well have the larger IMS bearing being a late 2005 but the telltale sign of bore scoring is black soot on the exhausts - you really need to check that with a boroscope as it's 10k+ engine rebuild if it's happened

    • @GT380man
      @GT380man 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Chances are bore scoring has been fixed long ago, but if not, a giveaway is smoke out of one side.
      The seal / bearing isn’t so frightening costwise. Get it done with a clutch change and it’s really no big deal.
      The big cost too is suspension. At this mileage it’s going to be suffering in multiple links on all four corners. Possibly 2-4 rotors, pads and two-four calliper refresh, too. Engine mounts looked soft, also. Notice when Calvin revved it that the torque tilted the exhaust tips.
      Easily fixed at a specialist but the bills are going to mount up. Oil, filters, gearbox service, plugs and coil packs etc.
      That car looks well worth bringing back to new underneath but someone who bought it for £20K probably doesn’t want to spend that much. Does sound lovely. Exterior a top colour and at ten feet it looked flawless. They do have resilient finishes. I couldn’t live with cocoa leather myself but less offensive than red!

    19:34 interesting how a stock VW Golf is faster and how a Ford Fiesta is only 0.18 seconds slower. And a new Civic Type R and Megane RS Trophy (not on that list) are even faster. There’s no point buying these old supercars when modern hot hatches are faster for less money and more practical.

      It’s not really about the speed it’s how the car feels, makes you feel and the sounds really.
      I used to think it was all about the power but what’s the point on a public road?
      If you want to be billy big balls racing people these days a £300 map on a Golf R etc and it will show most cars a clean pair of heels.

    CAR VERTICAL BEWARE!!
    STEER CLEAR OF CAR VERTICAL - I RECENTLY BOUGHT A USED CAR THINKING IT WAS CLEAR BASED ON A CAR VERTICAL REPORT WHICH SAID IT HAD NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT. IT ENDED UP BEING A CAT D AND COST ME THOUSANDS BECAUSE THEIR REPORT WAS WRONG. NOW REFUSING TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. JOKE OF A COMPANY!!

      @@twes5563 it's ironic you're trying to put this guy down as if a 997 is unachievable. Just highlights how much of a bum you are. Keep hating mate
