I try to make videos which tell you tales from Scotland's past and give you information about key dates in Scottish history and historical places to visit in Scotland. Not all videos are tales from Scotland's history, some of them are about men from Scotland's past or women from Scotland's past. Basically the people who made Scotland. From April 2020 onward I've tried to give ideas for historic days out in Scotland. Essentially these are days out in Scotland for adults who are interested in historical places to visit in Scotland.
As a Scottish history tour guide people ask: Help me plan a Scottish holiday, or help me plan a Scottish vacation of your from the US. So I've tried to give a bit of history, but some places of interest in Scotland as well.

i am watching this video on February 13, 2023 and in less than 3 years as this was filmed in April 2020, you have gone from 3,000 subscribers to 175,000!!!! That is a HUGE jump in i fairly short period of time!!! There are people who don't have nearly that number who have had their channels for 10+ years!!! This just shows how much people love you and your way of telling the stories about Scotland and Scottish history!! The stories are great and very interesting but it's your delivery of those stories that makes it SO entertaining!!! Keep up the great work!!!

3.96k subscribers. 1 Feb 2021. I’m a francophone from Louisiana (U.S.A., South of New Orleans) of both French and Scottish descent. Got to visit Scotland for the first time in 2019 (mainly just Edinburgh and the Isle of Skye and places in between), and it was incredible!
I first learned about the Auld Alliance a couple years ago, but it was a romanticized version told by a few French TH-camrs. I really appreciate hearing the Scottish perspective, and not a romanticized version of events. From pirates to the Crusades, people tend to do a lot of romanticizing of history, as I’m sure you well know. Really glad I found your channel!

I used to live and teach history in Lorraine where La Jeanne is still a mystical heroine and la Vielle Alliance is respected. But as Lorraine as I am, I've always pointed out that Joan's remark about the Scots was ill-advised and offensive and that it was the Scottish armies that went above and beyond to assist in a great part in preparing the way for Joan's triumph in Orléans, and there were Scottish troops with her there. Always give thanks where thanks are due. Thank you for bringing that up and for filling in the gaps in your Alliance series.

My son recently introduced his mum and I to your channel. We love it!! I was raised in Ayrshire but have lived in Washington state most of my adult life. Our family lived in "the Glenburn rows" until they finally closed "the Glenburn pit". My grandad had died in the pit so the miner's guild took care of our gran right through to the end. The home in Troon where she spent her last years was like a luxury hotel compared to some of the places they put the elderly into in America. But that's where I came from.

Love your vids. I come from Scottish parents who immigrated to NZ in 1955. I immigrated as a social refugee from NZ to Australia in 1984.
I do find your videos extremely interesting in many ways. Apart from the staight forward Scottish History for Dummies sometimes they spill a little bit of light on why my parents loved New Years so much and still passed on a bias against the English. I hope you have a great day!
