I am a lifetime Barcelona fan and man, many Barça fans also love Celtic. If there's a game that doesn't hurt to lose as much as other games, It's this one. 40 years attending European games, meeting fans from everywhere and I say without the slightest bit of doubt that Celtic fans are the best by large. 'mon the Hoops! Barça and Celtic, brothers in arms!!!

1967. Winning the European Cup. The first team from Scotland or indeed any other British nation to win it & we did it with a team of local lads, almost all to a man born in the vicinity of our glorious Glasgow East End home. THAT is our biggest achievement in our history. This was pretty damn special though. Goosebumps every time 🍀
Scottish Football was special in that decade what is forgotten is Rangers got to the final of the Cup winners cup losing 1-0 in extra time with indeed Kilmarnock getting to the semi final of what was then the Fairs cup a feat for Scottish football that will never be repeated.
Lisbon Lions that won it in 1967 all the players lived in a 3 mile radius of each other ☘️☘️ HAIL HAIL☘️☘️☘️
@@paulwilson2651 Remember that Celtic did get to the EC final in 1970, beaten 2-1 by Feyenoord, and Rangers won the CWP in 72, plus Celtic had semi and quarter-finals just after that in the early to mid-70s (not sure about other teams, sorry). Then there was the great 1983 CWP and Super Cup wins by Aberdeen, plus Dundee Utd getting to the European Cup semi in 84 and UEFA Cup Final in 87. The 70 and 80s were also a great time for Scottish Football, and Celtic imo, were cheated out of a CWP final in 85 with the Rapid Vienna farce. There were the Uefa Cup finals for Celtic and Rangers in 2003 and 2008 but Scottish football in Europe has gone downhill since.

I went with my dad, I was only 10 at the time, that was one of the greatest nights of my life, me and my dad both woke up the next morning unable to speak from all the shouting and singing the night before, me and my dad still to this day talk about that night, nothing will match the Lisbon lions but in my life time it’s the best memory of my childhood
I was in the south west corner that night, woulda been about 13 at the time. Most cherished night of my life
I remember seeing this with my grandad live man. When watt scored that second goal never screamed n cheered so much in my life mate. Great night for the Bhoys 🍀🍀 just be great if we had the same Magic this season 🙄

I was lucky enough to be there, on the eve of our 125th year anniversary. The best team in the planet rocked up to Parkhead and left with nothing but memories. I was in tears, to a man the defended with the lives, they didnus proud and became instant icons. Prime messi, xavi, iniesta annd the rest, they came and the were humbled by the bhoys from the east end of glasgow. Coybig.!!
You should watch Gerry Marsden singing You"LL never walk alone, at the Celtic v Liverpool game. Both sets of fans singing together, it's on the web . Brilliant.

I was at the EC quarter final 1st leg v Real Madrid in 1980. We won 2-0. What a night. The late, great Laurie Cunningham was playing for Real that night. Sadly, we lost 3-0 in Madrid, but those European nights were amazing.

@@whoormasterI was also at the 3-0 Rapid Vienna game. Went to the replay at Old Trafford. That whole thing was an utter disgrace, but it was a great atmosphere in Manchester. A real get it up ye to UEFA
@@alfiekelly5914 i had no money in 84 so i hitch hiked to vienna camped in a tent in the garden of celtics hotel picked my ticket up in the morning from the celtic staff then walked into vienna centre on the day of the game. went to the home game and old trafford. i was heart broken but the expierience was great. i was wandering round vienna in my kilt, day of the game some celtic fans said what are you doing i explained, they said heres our hotel room key go grap a shower and dump your bag, there ll be a beer sitting here when you come back down. sooo cool . i dont get to many games now but celtic park is still my happy place hail hail
I was there with my dad, I was about 15, best night of my life! Stadium was shaking, will never forget it
Was there that night. You'll never walk alone is a very special song to me and my family. It was played at my mother's funeral and is enscribed on her grave. It's very emotional every time I am involved at the stadium when this plays.
I've been to upwards of 400+ games at Celtic Park and this was probably the peak although I'd say I've been to a number of nights that run it close.
When Celtic Park is on form, which only happens now and again in this way, it's a remarkable place to be. At its best there's nothing I've been to that compares.
This gets the edge because this Barcelona team were genuinely great - still ladened with legendary players - that makes that Barcelona team one of the all time best football sides ever to take to a field.

Hibernian Scottish Cup 2016. Sunshine on Leith. Generally reckoned to be the most poignant football anthem. Even other clubs fans are moved by it. They hadn't won the Scottish Cup since 1902 and it was an emotional day as every Hibs fan was thinking about all our loved ones and friends who were no longer with us who never saw Hibs win the Scottish Cup.
As an English neutral and with all due respect I LOVED that rendition after your great Hampden win but You'll Never Walk Alone has, by a Country Mile, been THE Anthem and has been for over 55 years now. Just seeing the whole 95,000 crowd singing in AUSTRALIA when Liverpool played was amazing and no I am most certainly not a Liverpool fan :)
I loved that Hibs anthem . The emotion behind it . Real loyalty from supporters who don’t win a trophy every year. My team QPR have only ever won one cup final so I get the emotion .
I'm a Celtic fan & I agree that was amazing, I just think Celtics meant more because of the history, the fact it was all regular fans & not just fair weather fans.would be great If hibs could get 20% of that each week but they can't & imo that's what makes it cheaper.

There was 60,000 and Messi inesta and xavi all film the celtic supporters as the barcalona fans sang walk on along with us and even after defeat the barca fans still sang along
As a Rangers fan i can testify that Celtic Park 'Parkhead' is an intimidating atmosphere once the fans are on their back for teams to play there....now imagine how much more charged the atmosphere is when Rangers show up in town.
You can't beat an Old Firm atmosphere....words can't do it justice.

The best day at Celtic Park was when they came back with the European Cup ( renamed champions league but same beautiful trophy) The streets of Glasgow were packed to greet the team back from Libon...now immortalised as The Lisbon Lions and the stadium was packed to the brim as they paraded the trophy..im sure their must be footage somewhere as i have it on video......Celtic reached a 2nd final and were regular quarter finalists

I've got that game on DVD because even on TV the atmosphere comes across ,I been at big games in London and obviously seen the likes of Utd and Liverpool on TV as well as the likes of BvB Real etc but that atmosphere was unreal .

Was my dads birthday and I was 9 and it was probably one of the best games of my life in terms of how we beat a Barca team in their prime and the atmosphere is always good at a champions league night but that was something special.
We don't stop singing from the moment we enter til the moment we leave. You will never experience an atmosphere like Paradise (Celtic Park) anywhere else in the world.

I was at the game that night. One of the greatest atmospheres I’ve ever experienced. Incredible high after the game, then my gran passed away a few hours after the game.

I remember there was talk of Rangers and Celtic joining the English Premier League for a long time in the 90s and early 2000s given the size of their clubs relative to most other teams in Scotland which I suppose kind of limited their progression, particularly in Europe. I'm not sure why this isn't brought up at all these days, it's not like teams don't already play across the borders in respective leagues. I suppose it would be great for Ranges and Celtic but not good for Scottish football.

I was behind the goal that Wanyama scored the 1st goal into. Really just another European night at CELTIC PARK. Watch the game, that's 100x better. Fraser Forester kept Messi out with amazing saves that night, I mind walking home through Glasgow City centre with my Celtic top on, the riots were going on in England & I asked 2 cops are they all rioting again & he said " fk off ya fenian bastard" yip, Glasgow polis with their anti Irish, Catholic bigotry. Celtic and Rangers have two of the biggest and most passionate fan bases in the world but unfortunately the finances in scottish football are so abysmal now that we dont get to see nights like this very often anymore 😢
Celtic haven’t been themselves this season but Scottish football is generally on the up at the moment imo
@@pjw6273 Certainly helps havin both teams competing at european level again but for me the aberdeens, hibs, hearts etc should all be doing far more for the cause than they ha e done in the last even 20 years

One awesome night in our great club's history, especially since it was the day after the 125th anniversary of the club being founded. I couldn't leave my seat for about 5 minutes after it was over. I hadn't felt that emotion since we won the European Cup

2-0 up with maybe 10 minutes left & a guy sitting next to me says " I'll be happy with a draw, they're battering our defence " It wasn't until I watched the game on TV next day that it dawned on me that Barca bombarded Forster & the defence for full 90 minutes. HAIL HAILING

You missed the best bit at the end when the Loudspeaker came on after they won 2/1 and the crowd went crazy but you stopped it as the music and fans were about to start :)
