It is a keyed fiddle, in Swedish nyckelharpa, a traditional Swedish instrument. There are many variants, but this is the most common type. It is fully chromatic, which not all types are. Instead of frets you use the keys to shorten the strings. Apart from three melodi strings there is also a drone string and 12 resonanse strings.
