Besides the login issues, and my terrible playtime, I love Horizon and would recommend it to anyone seeking a strong community experience with XI. Its crazy fun
@@zarbrawl if y'all been having trouble with log in try disabling Ashenbubs or whatever that tab is, and also if you have seeding turned off probably best to have it on. Yesterday I got black screen after zoning so I closed out window then tried to log back in but the launcher wouldn't even open so I tried rebooting my computer nothing, reinstalling the game nothing, finally I restarted my modem and eventually i was able to log in. So it seems to be a problem with connecting with their server (aka the host).
I think one of the things I'm enjoying most about Horizon is I am meeting great people. Leveling, instead of being a chore is quite fun. I'm also surprised at how many new players there are. I know it's a great game, you know it's a great game, but it's old. I expected predominantly players on nostalgia trips. The new blood is quite unexpected and wonderful to see.
FFxi at lvl 75 is and will always be my favorite mmo. A friend just clued me into Horizon, I've played on Nasomi and Eden but I always got on there late. I'm excited to get going on a relatively fresh server where the low levels are active. I just hope fishing doesn't get overrun like it does on every private server.
Great overview. If you can do video of your settings. I can’t seem to get game running this smooth. I did the /fps 1 but just slows down the frame rate.
Just returned to Wings XI after a long break to see the playerbase dwindle at 70s. I genuienly do not have time to do all the things I've done from scratch. I'll be staying in Wings.
Was able to log into horizon early today. First played retail during wings of the godess post abyssea. The biggest shock was not being able to find a field tome in East sarutaruba. I guess AMAN tomes weren't in during chains of promathia
I got into it around the Rise of the Zilart Expansion. I wanted to play before, but my parents wouldnt pay the monthly subscription. Took a while to convince them :P
I had the old PS2 setup, with the network adapter and everything. RoZ+CoP era, which I think was right on NA release. Horizon is an awesome blast back to the past for me!
The GM's and Devs in this game just suck. Exploits, inner politics .. just a recipe for disaster. Plus the CLO and IP head at SE were made aware of H11 just today so expect a C&D very soon.
@@zarbrawl My friend went to Fordham with the current CLO and they just had a convo 2 days ago about this particular private server and said they are prepared to send DMCA take down notifications; cease and desist letters and looking at the developers from IP/CR infringement. I’ve already quite had COP finished, rank 10 sandy and sky access 75sam with a ton of gear lol. Not investing anymore time to a sinking ship.
The real over view is that its crap. The servers are down 75% of the time. Loging in is a challenge. Sometimes you gotta try 10x just to get past the login screen. Its a very slow game. Lots of bugs. Plenty of bans already for things such as exploits and bugs. It has an average population of around 4000 people. One GM on discord was acting like a bitch and was muting people for 30min for having an opinion. (No i was not 1 of the muted people lol )
4k not bad. Good enough for a western audience. Personally I play the ffxi official servers since launch til now. I wont be blindsided by hype do all over, give up memories and gear that took you months or years.
I totally understand your frusration. The main issue I have had is the login. I feel like ive been fairly lucky on that end, but yes there are a lot of bugs still. Its my first time joining a private server on launch, so Im unsure if this is standard. Im still having fun, but i do hope the bugs/login issues get resolved asap.
You sound like a salty wings or Eden player lol have fun with your 100 player server. If you can't handle some bumps in the start of a server private servers just ain't for you. This is hands down the best server right now log in issues and all. I'm having the time of my life.

As far as the music goes, can I just say... the remixed party battle theme is an absolute banger, I can party for hours and not get tired of it!

how is thf? I know its kinda different than retail version.
tried to get into horizon but couldnt get my elite controller to work with it (played for years on the 360 back in the day) so i gave up.
I’ve been watching it all. I still think Eden private server is still the best because it offers ballista (pvp)
As it turns out, your opinion on launcher was a couple days too soon. Basically unplayable for the last few days

its isnt, new players every day, server is still very much alive and the best atm for a lv 75 classic server
