I just wanted to say, as a kid I had a learning disability which I've discovered doesn't ever leave even as an adult. It's a matter of adjusting and thinking outside of the box . You've mentioned your same plight growing up with a learning disability. What you've done to overcome your challenges is so cool to watch. Your success is inspiring for people like me.

Commercial flower farmer here, just a tip, leave at least an inch or 2 of space in your soil block tray so you can flood that area with water. Then tip tray to water the blocks. Soil blocks need to be bottom watered to stay together and to avoid algae as much as possible.

I took advantage of your offer of a discount and ordered my first greenstalk. It came yesterday and I am so excited. I can't wait for planting season. It's so wonderful to have this waiting for me. It's unbelievable how much you can accomplish in your show. I just wish I had the energy to keep up with you. You mentioned an interest in making some fig Newton like cookies. I have a recipe that was my grandmother's she made every year at Christmas time. She Immigrated from Sicily as a young girl and met my grandfather on the boat that she came over to America on. It is much like a fig Newton. But instead of a cakey like texture on the outside it has more of a cookie like texture.I love them and try to make them every year. If you would like the recipe, I would be happy to share.

The soil blocks are beautiful. They look like brownies. I'm glad everything is germinating well.

My Mom was a good hobby flower girl. One of the beds was a mix of black eyed Susan's, purple/pink cone flower and Shasta daisy's. Not to much of the white Shasta, your just wanting to breakup the color field, the white gives your eyes a place to "rest". It brightens and adds vibrancy to the color in the bed. It was a show stopper every year with lots of people stopping bye. Batchelor buttons and asters are some of my favorites every year, but they are annuals and need to be reseeded each year. When working 12-15 hour days in the garden is not enough. When they finally connected several large sections of the rails to trails we were out at 1 of the trail head parking lots planting just a few Batchelor button seeds under cover of darkness. When they came up they were so beautiful and was featured in the paper. Some ladies groups had garden tours for their groups fundraiser. You should go if you can find any near you. You can learn allot from these other gardeners and so inspiring.

You might think of starting a outdoor flower garden that you can walk through and make little sitting areas and tables in garden to enjoy and entertain . Maybe a little fountain here and there or little pond. You have a beautiful piece of property. Your Awesome

In your area you could plant your seeds and put them outside to cold stratify them. Just let them come up outside. Some people do that in milk jugs. You just have to make sure the seeds don’t dry out.

I am happy to see a sponsorship on your video. Congratulations Becky. I think finding alternative gardening solutions is so important. I just have a balcony so I feel very limited as to what I can grow. Watching your channel has inspired me to waste less food and extend the storage of food without losing it's quality. I have frozen fresh lemon juice, fresh whole ginger and garlic cloves in my freezer right now. I buy fresh herbs and then dry them myself. I store the dried herbs in a glass jar and it keeps it's freshness for a long time. Your channel is one of my favorites. All of your seedlings look so cute. Are you growing asparagus this year?

I only have my Beefsteak Tomato & Zinnias seeds planted so far, but I am like you {happy as a little clam to see them sprout up & grow). Thank you soooo much for getting me back into planting again. I ❤️❤️Love❤️❤️it! 🤗🤗Sister Hugs.

Good morning, Becky. Such a lovely video. My comment is speaking to cold stratifying your seeds. If you watch the Garden Answer channel, Laura has done something called winter sowing for the past couple of years. Very simple, sowing seeds in recycled milk/water jugs and leaving them outside and unattended for the winter months. She's had varied results but for the effort expended worth the time. Good luck on your planting.

@@cajbafI understand that a lot of people do that. However, I'm not sure if this is the case this time. If I had never used a word and pronounced it incorrectly, as long as it is done in a respectful way, I would appreciate the help. I have seen horribly rude comments in the past and thought..."Why"? Not sure if this is one of these times. Even if it is short and to the point.

Hey Becky, I just wanted to let you know my sweet Williams that I planted last year did not bloom, but they already have blooms this year. The plants look awesome and have all winter but they are just now getting blooms in the second year. Just wanted to let you know, so you would not be disappointed, if you didn’t get blooms the first year. THANK YOU for your awesome videos. You are a true blessing to many.

Hi Becky. I just planted my cold strat seeds today. 3-19. I did strawberries which are so so small I had to use my tweezers to pick them up. I never knew about cold strat until this year. And I am so hopeful that my seeds will germinate and be absolutely amazing. I don't have a big garden but what I have is okay as there is only me. So wish me luck and prayers.

Have you considered resurfacing the floor, like they do patios & driveway? The crack, probably will not ever be great, because of the way structures move & shift over time. But they might be able to fill crack with expansion type material.

One thing that I’ve learned about my grow room or in my case, I have a very close indoor studio with a full kitchen, but to make room for a refrigerator for your grow room. It comes in handy for your seeds as well as putting your harvest that needs to be gathered but you may need a day or two to use it. Just an idea, I love your grow room! It has inspired me to have one as well, of course not as bug as yours but it’s very doable. Hugs from Texas!

I’m adding my encouragement for you to use paving paint (with added grit to prevent slipping) on the floor in your grow room. We have recently used it on semi-enclosed concrete area about the size of single garage after 20+ years of it just being concrete. The difference is amazing! I’d say it would suit the current use of this room involving lots of dirt and water, and if you change its use in the future you can still lay flooring on top of it. I’m in Australia so I’m not sure if you call it paving paint in the US. It’s a specific product for concrete and similar surfaces, usually outdoors or in a room similar to yours. It’s already non-slip and adding the special grit makes it more so. A bonus is none of the dust that comes up off the concrete.

I’m not sure the time frame between going from garden to kitchen, but one thing you want to be aware of is your kitchen items and food bringing fungi and contamination to your plants through your apron and clothes. The only reason I know this is because years ago I worked at a gardening plant starter company that grew starts from votings from other plants and we had to be very careful not to bring cheese and other items into the greenhouse germination area. You may want to change your apron or have one just for gardening, just a suggestion. Hugs from Texas!

I had trouble with many cold stratification seeds for a number of years... but I found by doing the damp paper towel method works the best for me. But for some seed, rewetting the paper towel and letting the baggie sit on the counter for a couple days before planting helped for better germination... especially with the lavender seeds!!! (They will have a teeny tiny root on them, similar to if you sprout your wheat before milling)

Rudbeckia, echinacea, and others that you mentioned are great candidates for winter sowing. In addition to the obvious savings in space, time, heat expense, etc, the plants that grow are stronger. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
