Iseltwald MOST BEAUTIFUL Village of SWITZERLAND?

- The Bernese Oberland is one of the most visited regions of all of Switzerland. Many people consider traveling to Interlaken, Lauterbrunnen, Thun or Brienz. However, there is this wonderful little fishing village called ISELTWALD that charms with its unique location and serenity. Laying at the shore of this incredibly turquoise lake, Iseltwald has a specially beautiful appearance, why people name it as one of the most beautiful villages of this region. Iseltwald village can be best reached by boat from Interlaken or Brienz. The boat ride is very scenic and quite comfortable. Arriving by car is possible; however, parking lots are limited; thus consider reaching by boat. It's in particular nice to walk along the shore of Lake Brienz and enjoy the various viewpoints over the houses of Iseltwald and the surrounding Alps and villages. Swimming in the lake is possible during June, July and August and pretty enjoyable. Great places are the pier near the ferry landing or the bay of Iseltwald. An eye-catching motif is Iseltwald's castle that looks very beautiful from various angles. Do not forget to explore the bay area with its many nice houses and photo spots. There are also a few cafes and restaurants for taking a break. Otherwise, walk through the various alleys and enjoy seeing the many traditional houses Iseltwald's. Iseltwald is a perfect place to visit for any budget traveler as it is not too touristy and the prices at the restaurants and hotels are lower than in other places in the region. Enjoy pure serenity and one of Switzerland's most stereotypical villages. Some people even claim Iseltwald is one of the most beautiful villages of Switzerland. My great great great grandparents emigrated from Iseltwald in 1853 to America. I often wonder why they did, probably the free land that was being given away. I wish they had stayed in Switzerland, it's such a beautiful country. It's on my bucket list to get to Iseltwald. Also, I noticed when you were by the boat rental place, it said Abegglen werft. Abegglen was my great great great grandmothers maiden name that I mentioned above.
Many young residents emigrated to America because there was potato blight in Switzerland and the people were very poor. The communities even gave the emigrants money for the journey so that they could emigrate to America. In Iseltwald there are still many named Brunner or Abegglen. I grew up there myself.

Yes, that place is absolutely beautiful. It’s actually one of the locations in Switzerland where the very popular Korean drama entitled “crash landing on you” was taken. I would love to go there someday🥰

I was there last July and stayed at Lake Lodge. The aquamarine waters were magnificent! Definitely stay a day or two to enjoy the scenery.

Thanks for this video! We did explore Iseltwald from our 1st visit of Switzerland in June 22. Although it was a rainy day, the walk along lake areas is so clam and beautiful. We’ll keep watching top 10 villages and plan for our next trip soon.

My cousine lived in Kloten for 6 month. So I took my older son to visit him. I fell in loved with the country at ones!
We went to Zürich, Luzern, Zug and Zollbrück (he played Unihockey for Kloten Jets).
This was just before the Covid19 outbreake.

We will stay 3 nights in Lucern (pretending to do Titils, Rigi + Stoos, and Stans), 4 nights in Grindelwald (pretending First, Schiltorn, Maalinchen to Kleine, Lakes Oeschinesee + Blausee, Lake Brienz e Thun), get the goldenpass to Montreux, sleep one night there, maybe a stop at Gruyeres at the way, and one night at Zermatt, to do the gonergrat. a lot right? possibly we won't be able to do all of this but the planning is this hehe maybe we'll run into each other somewhere! Big hug!

I sadly only visited Canada to access the Niagara Falls back in 1998 when I was still a kid. I quite remember a lot of it. I really need to revisit Canada some day. Too many places to explore.

I visited this place recently, I have no words. Korean Drama also has made this place quite famous and I could see lot of Koreans during my visit.

The woman at the Lake Lodge Restaurant was saying: "We love having him here!" - She speaks Australian English, their R is usually very soft. I went to Iseltwald on a daytrip. I did not book any accomodation in Iseltwald, so I can't speak out of experience, neither can I show any footage when not having any. In general, I don't stay at AirBnBs, but a normal BnB is fine for me.

Hi Loreto. I think it has much to do with the minerals present in the water. The lake of Brienz has a very unique turquoise color, while the adjecent lake of Thun is more to blue. Much love from Switzerland to the Philippines
