Man I just love these builds because you film the issues if they show up and everything isn’t flawless. Makes it more fun to watch but also learn something along the way. I do have a question about the water cooling wood thing, is that custom made? I’m looking to learn about water cooling. Thanks!
Thanks for the feedback! I always like leaving my mistakes in the video because it allows people to learn from them. As they say...'You learn from your mistakes, not your sucess' As far as the wood thing, yes thats custom made by me. I bought a wood plank from Home Depot and cut 2 smaller pieces of wood to form a right angle and just nailed them to the bigger board. You can buy a bending kit tho if thats easier, however I dont like those since they arent 100% accurate as my custom board. Hope that helps!
That’s the thing I love about this channel. I have subscribed to many tech channels, and believe me this has happened a lot of times that I have many videos of same product from different channels but whatever it is, I always watch techsource first.
Know what I really like about this video? The mistakes and problems. A lot of times, on other channels, their builds go smooth as silk with zero hiccups. I feel like this is so far from the reality of building your own pc. I have been building pcs for at least 20 years and EVERY time there is some sort of mistake I make or a part that doesn't fit right because the manufacturer goofed up somehow. Every time I watch Ed's videos about building, he reminds me of the way it is supposed to go. His builds turn out terrific and that is why he is so successful - relatability, that is the key. Well done my man!
Love a Corsair build. Currently got a 360mm AIO, RM1000X and a 3090FE to go in a 5000D case. Love the build, keep it up Ed! Also, congrats on your newest arrival to the family!
I've already done running and keeping up on watching all setup wars videos and some others on this channel since last year but this is the only vid that made me hit that subscribe button. Love that reaction when Ed was about to slap that GPU and ended up adjusting again to remove the tank. Very genuine. Haha
Personally i prefer a half watercooled build over a fully watercooled pc And finally i found a video where someone is doing it. Thanks im planing on doing something similar
This video is awesome and it has everything I enjoy with your channel. A computer build, vlog-style, time-lapse and you explaining why you picked why you picked those components! Great work, Ed 🙂. Happy new year.
8:58 Thank you for speaking out about this Ed, I was building my first ever PC yesterday following your full step by step guide. This part of plugging the motherboard cable was SO DAMN ANNOYING AND FRUSTRATING, because the design of the case is small, the motherboard cable that came with Corsair power supply is too fat to fit in that hole. I had been working on my pc for a couple of hours. I simply had to stop with the build cause I was gonna break something. Gonna try again later tonight. But please Corsair FFS change that dumbass design of the holes for cables, just do a regular square cutout like other PC's do.
Love the build its truly amazing but I was wondering how do you make the wires from cans fans and aio cords look good im currently struggling to make them less noticeable
As you can see the less it is shown the better the pc looks like. And if the cable have the same colors as the pc case just don't let the cable be across the the build and instead let it travel close to the background of the pc case
I would also move the radiator above the frame if you can. That should make room to route the EPS cables behind the fans. (I couldn't add this to my previous comment because of the Amazon link.)
Personally I agree with you on the GPU being the Eye sore here, just isn't the same without the waterblock (Plus the cooling looking insane) . One thing I would have done is remove the bracket for the pump and stuck it to the bottom of the case (the pump alone). Another small change is the top fans on the radiator, I would move them to the top of the case (if possible) for the EPS cable to look clean. But overall love the build keep up the good work Ed!😎
i think if you put the pump combo on the middle fan with the bracket raised enough to clear the 4090, the intakes and outtake of the pump could've been ran above the gpu, and still look pleasing to the eyes, if im wrong let me know!
I swear Edgar you are a GOD when it comes to PC building and PC desk SET UPS - stating that this PC is not at your liking is hilarious. But this is why your the BEST - your HIGH Standards and imaginations is crazy! AS ALWAYS THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS VIDOE AND CANT WAIT TO SEE MORE!!!! I also love watching your videos because I enjoy building computers myself, but I don't get the opportunity a lot since I don't have the funds to constantly build computers over and over and I enjoy to watch you build computers and it gives me inspiration to do what you do someday.
Hi ED! Nice video as always. I had the same issue with PSU cables but with 5000D. I believe that these towers was made for different mobos with 24-pin connector layed down on the right not facing upwards if you get what I mean. Also 90degree adapter is not an option which I have tried already. If it bothers so much then have to remove that cover and just add 3x extra fans on he side so the cable isn't bent so much.
Having built in the 5000D, I knew right away I was gonna be using 10 fans: 6 intake, 4 exhaust, for positive pressure. I took off that cable shield. It made so much of a difference with cable management and getting cables plugged into my Dark Hero. Plus the case looked nicer with those 3 extra fans.
I love this build, but I feel like painting the gpu would have made a huge difference to the pc’s looks, either way this pc is awesome, and I love the consistent high quality videos you have been putting out lately! 🔥
Just an idea, maybe you could 3D print a bracket to hold the pump on the floor of the case where you said there is clearance. The fans wouldn't be sacrificed, and the mesh filter can stay in order to preserve the airflow.
Ed you could’ve just took the bracket for the pump off of the bottom fan then cut the top half of the bracket, leaving only the two parts of the bracket for holding the pump. Then all you needed was just 3M tape to stick it to the bottom of the case. 😊

If all you were wanting to cool was the CPU, I would go with an AIO. A better solution to your case size problem, in my opinion, would have been to just water cool the GPU as well. It would have also looked a lot sicker in my opinion. Swap the 30mm thick radiator with a 60mm thick, or run 2 30mm thick radiators. I did that with my version of "Frost," yes I used the same name before I ever saw this video. But yeah, that's what I would have done differently

Build looks awesome for sure!! But just a build note that I was thinking about...
