Great, welcome to the drumming club! :) It is possible to learn how to play drums from the internet these days, but mistakes can be made and a teacher will help correct errors in your playing that you might not spot yourself. You could also consider using both? Hope that helps. Good luck and happy drumming to you!

nice lesson I like the way you relate the pattern your playing with a real world tune ,playing along with a song helps with the learning process and is less boring keep it up !! thxs

@Liam11w you can buy special drum heads for your kit that make very little noise, don't get what you would normally but they're alright to practice on x

@Congaschlumpf Thanks mate. It's just the snare pad that comes with the Yamaha DTXPress Special IV. Can't say any more about it really. Hope that helps. Rob

@missdouchebag100 Some drumming puritans would say that burying the bass drum beater is a no-no but most drummers do this. It means that the leg and foot can properly rest in between strokes. It also works for my heel-up technique. Don't concern yourself with whether the head is buried or not, it doesn't make any real difference to the sound anyway. Hope that helps!

@mafiouso After the number of years I've been playing it's not that difficult to adjust. After a minute or so I've got used to the movement of the cymbals, the rebound of the toms and, of course, the noise! Hope that answers your question! :)
