I was doing a full tank build and it felt impossible to play against this boss. This build helped me out so much, as I was finally able to dodge the attacks.
Hope this helps. I used 2 grenade launchers, quadraped legs, and 2 machine guns, and melee weapon that looks like a piston spike. The grenade launchers stagger the boss so incredibly fast.

I had a lot of luck with a light build. I used reverse joints and the 4 barrel missile launcher in both hands. The spike driver melee weapon and I think a songbird on my right shoulder. If not a missile launcher.
@@nevertbagabeartrap it’s amazing how many different ways to play there are. I’ve been going heavy bipedal legs and arms and two plasma rifles and two plasma missle launchers. The ones that fire 3 missles each. I just beat the worm and pretty much everything else before with this build. Good stuff.
Shots track and lead, so dodge once in the opposite direction and then opposite of that for linear shots. Missiles should be dodged in the same direction or you risk colliding with them.
Thanks for the overall build recommendation. I ended up using the quad legs to fly under the bridge and then switched to Tank legs for the boss. With your weapon build and high defense/AP I beat it my first try!

At 3:46 you stagger him and he sits there for ten straight seconds. When I stagger him in second phase he literally does not stop firing and moving. What's the difference, what is going on?
The difference is that for almost all the time you want to be at full capacity after a stagger for maximum output and for longer stagger duration I really recommend using the drill arm for this guy paired with 2 heavy rocket artillery and a Canon so pretty much build stagger with rockets and Canon then rush in with the drill arm if you are fast with it you can pretty much keep him in a state were he can't recover also always boost attack when staggered it increases the dmg output once he is in the air the missiles and Canon also makes short work of it that's how I got S rank in that Mission hope that helps a bit just remind yourself there is no best load out you can play with everything and the costumization is pretty much the beuty of this game ^^
I think you have to keep hitting him with heavy artillery. As soon as you stagger him the longer it takes you to follow up to quicker he comes out of stagger.
I got him twice on the oroboro tetrapod guide but I was unsatisfied amd tried ll kinds of builds. I only got him once in various tests on tian qiang body and dual handheld missile launchers and dual plasma missile launchers. All d rank
I’ve been defeating this thing over and over, rarely taking more than half my AP in damage without using my repair kits, and couldn’t get better than A rank. I guess time matters more than the amount of damage you take?
Ugh this game can be very frustrating...been trying so many different builds and now this boss has me stumped for the last 2 days...even with this build...
Try using SG-027 Zimmerman dual shotguns instead this guys build. You can literally outdps as long as you avoid the fang attack and really large lasers attacks has even better impact stagger. As for shoulders imo any vertical launch missiles works since they don't interrupt your movement and lets you stay on the move and you don't have to worry about them missing such a large target. Even with using one or two repairs you should still be able to S Rank.

Spider with less than 10k AP damage taken? easy. dodging the satelite laser? impossible.

Use a tetrapod leg build and just hover over it the entire time. Make sure to dodge the heavy lasers though, and manage your energy.
1:27 i found that if you boost along the middle of the bridge up top you don't get spotted usually

Fun fact; unique dialogue for assault-boosting across and between all the satellite lasers. Carla comments she's "never seen flying like that"
What really sucks about S ranking this mission is the pointless elevator segment you have to sit through on retry

This video helped me a lot and I beat it with my first try! I did use the Tetra Legs to stay afloat, which I found a lot easier to use.
I was packing dual Zimmermans and stun needle launchers and this cheesed so much for me with Tetra legs. Thanks!

This build isn't optimal, just use double gatlings for arms, & double VE-60SNA for both back weapons and its a easy S RANK
