Salute to Mari Evans

ONE MONTH AGO, as part of a new initiative, our friend and author, Aleta Hodge, hosted a celebration for African-American writer, poet, and dramatist, MARI EVANS on August 24, 2021, at St. Phillips Episcopal Church, Indianapolis, IN. Bookmark Indy was launched in 2021 by Indiana Humanities as a one-of-a-kind literary exploration of Indianapolis through the eyes of the writers, like Ms. Hodge, who’ve called it home. Jayda D. and Riley G., two members of Zora’s Daughters were featured during the celebration.
