It's easily a 10 out of 10.
Vincent is credible...
10. Easy. Cruise's finest performance (along with Tropic Thunder). And the directing/editing showcases the characters without seeming deliberate. There's clarity in the 3-D space among the chaos. The tones: cinemagraphically, pacing, music, casting, sound effects, - everything - is congruent with the rest of the movie. It shows the care and good taste (appropriate aesthetic decisions) of the film makers.

This was one of Tom Cruise's best performances.
Any film directed by Michael Mann, you'll know there's a great shootout scene. All firearms shootout has that precise sound to it.

Michael Mann did a amazing job giving Los Angeles that Miami Vice look I didn’t think I would say this, but Tom Cruise may be a better actor, playing a villain than the hero plus the music of the movie sets the tone perfectly
Vincent was surgical and precise. Extremely efficient! Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great scene!
i like how the target was stuck at the table for more than 3minutes after the first shot rang out and was pushing people out of the way but still stayed there. It's like a really fat dude who got pushed to the ground and was not able to get up.
why did vincent need the cab to take him around? at the end of the clip he clearly shows that he has the ability to teleport

@@Tris70 When you have to say the words "comic book type of world" you're just avoiding admitting that it's extremely unrealistic and cartoonish.
If that's what you want in a movie, that's fine. But just admit that it's an extremely different thing from realism.
This club really needs to improve the exit signage.

Actually I think Tom Cruise would serve better as a mentor to John Wick.
Michael Mann is a genius.
If you had asked me before this movie was made who I would cast as Vincent, Tom Cruise definitely would not have been my choice. And yet now, after this insanely good performance, it's actually hard to think of anyone else in the same role.
TC should of got an Oscar for this.

DJ keeps the Jason Bourne music running. Club security keeps the lights off. Fat Chinese target just sits and waits to get shot. Apart from that, Tom Cruise is awesome.

this Ready Steady Go is the korean style Junbi, Chulbal, Go version made by (the same DJ of first original theme) Paul Oakenfold......to me i like a liittle more the Bourne Identity (chasing scene in paris) Version specially the kind environment tracks used it by Oakenfold on that first, in the korean style is just more dance with some of a bit deep bass and drums ...
The fat Chinese dude was really trying to get up if you see closely, it was hard for him to do it alone because of his own weight. Even one of his guards was trying to lift him up for one moment.
If you freeze the frame at 2:28 you can see that his two shots landed in a tight shot group. Man's accurate

I know a lot of people don't like Cruise for whatever reason, but I think he is one of the most best actors in the movie business. His films are almost always compelling and fun to watch, and his characters have a lot of personality and depth. Also, he rehearses each scene to make sure it is right, including many of the most difficult stunts. It's too bad that the Academy is so political - he should have won an Oscar by now.
There should be a Vincent the early years, but who would play Tom? He's kinda old. Great video and I love this movie.

I like Manns style, nothing fancy, no big special effects, just good old acting and straight forward camera work. Reminds me of John Carpenter.

I am neither military nor American - but know people who are. A US Navy SEAL once showed me how to wade through a crowd by tapping on people's knees in a manner similar to that used in the movie.

Great scene in a great movie, as most Cruise movies are. But really, how long is a hitman likely to stay in business by engaging in mass public slaughters like this? It reminds me of Leon's bloody tour de force at the hotel, when Tonto tells his boss somebody "serious" is coming up...

the more true to life john wick
The entire scene is extremly slow and feels like everything is in slow motion. I felt this when I first saw the movie over 15 years ago. Long befor John Wick showed us how it can look like.
I love John Wick, but it's a completely different film. John Wick has it's own universe with it's own set of rules. Collateral is based in reality and therefore isn't as fantastical.
The club scene shows how methodical and calculating Vincent is. I found the tempo quite good.
