    The past two seasons, couldn't get my snowblower started (luckily not too much snow). This year was just about to bite the bullet to bring to a repairperson but decided to go to youtube for solutions. Drained the remaining old fuel from the carb bowl, added new fuel and some seafoam and let sit for about 30 mins. Machine started right up with one pull.

    I noticed when he pumped the gas, it was zero-ethanol. That alone is the #1 thing you can do to prevent your carb from gumming up. Not everybody has this available in their locality, which is unfortunate. It should be available everywhere!

    I recommend Seafoam to my small engine customers for their machines, especially snowblower. Seafoam keeps carburetors from becoming non serviceable from heavy varnish deposits that can build up an ruin a perfectly good carburetor. Seafoam solves many problems.

    Tried on my Honda HS520. Old gas left in tank from previous year. Snowblower would not start, after multiple attempts of trying, someone told to try Sea Foam. Removed as much of old gas as possible, poured approximately 1/4 of bottle or slightly less into tank with fresh gas and let set for 4 days. Changed oil and spark plug as well. Over next 2days, tried to start and didn't work. Let it set and came back after 2 more days. Engaged choke, pulled 4 times and snowblower started right up. Sea Foam broke up debris and once it got in carburetor cleaned it as well. Never heard of this product before, but will become a staple to stabilize gas and treat small engine equipment. Thanks Frank, appreciate the help!

      Thanks, Casey. Great post! Petroleum varnish is what forms in a snow blower carburetor. Varnish is what's left of degraded, evaporated gasoline. Varnish is heavier, soft, sticky fuel residue that restricts carburetor circuits (and fuel injectors). Sea Foam quickly liquefies the varnish back into fluid fuel so it all burns away in the chamber. Sea Foam works more like melting/dissolving - nothing is ever "broken up" into particles.

    Put it in the gas tank primed it and 2 pulls and off she went. Took care of the Hunting on the engine. Was running it at 1/2 choke. Not no more runs like a champ. no choke wide open.

    Hi, sorry this isnt a question for a snowblower but for my fuel injected motorcycle . I was planning on adding the spray seafoam to the throttle body. I just did a oil change last week. I was doing some reading and people said I would need to do a oil change after doing this process. I figured id ask the company directly. so should I wait till the next oil change or is it ok to do now with no oil change in the near future. also same question for adding to gas tank. thanks

    • @SeaFoamOfficial
      @SeaFoamOfficial  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks for the question. It always helps others when someone is willing to question what does not make sense - we appreciate! Answer: Having to do an oil change after an upper engine treatment (Sea Foam Spray through throttle body) does NOT make ANY sense to us - there is no relationship.

    • @SeaFoamOfficial
      @SeaFoamOfficial  7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Another motorcycle tip: You can safely add A LOT of Sea Foam to fuel. At least 1 or 2X per year, wait till your tank is very low and add a full can of Sea Foam. Run it about 10 minutes, then shut off and let sit overnight. Ride the next day to the gas station and fill tank with fresh fuel.

    Been using Seafoam treated, non ethanol fuel in my 2015 Toro light compact since new. The carb is so clean, I rarely need choke till its below like 30 degrees. Has anyone seen a carb varnish up over the summer by the SMALL amount of treated fuel that might be in a carb after draining in the spring?

    • @SeaFoamOfficial
      @SeaFoamOfficial  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Because a carburetor is exposed to the atmosphere, any remaining fuel in the carburetor will lose its lighter ignition vapor to evaporation. That's why it's a smart idea to run a higher concentration of Sea Foam + fresh gasoline in your first tank of the running season.

    • @Robsbrd99
      @Robsbrd99 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SeaFoamOfficial Might add just a bit to the machine on the the first tank. I always treat the can at the pump. I'm NOT having the first problem doing this. Takes just min, I drain by the bowl screw and take the bowl off for a quick spray.

Its those about 10 days a year where they are a lifesaver and keeps me on schedule without getting hurt trying to get the driveway done before work. Anything can happen but, if the carb is pristine and it gets a plug every few years, won't much happen to cause it not to start.

    • @SeaFoamOfficial
      @SeaFoamOfficial  7 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      Invented in Indiana in the '30s. The son of the inventor is still around. The story we understand is that the inventor blended Sea Foam to dissolve gum/varnish that often plagued outboard carburetors. He'd put it in beer bottles and share with fishing friends. Before going on a trip from to Florida, a friend (in Florida) called and asked him to bring some bottles of 'Sea Foam'. The name stuck.

    • @SeaFoamOfficial
      @SeaFoamOfficial  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Jeremy. The two big causes of snow blower problems are #1) dud fuel that has lost its ignition vapor, and #2) a varnish restriction in the carburetor. If the engine kills or only runs on choke, remove all the fuel and put it in your car/truck tank. Add a small amount of fresh gas and 2 or 3 glugs of Sea Foam to the empty snow blower fuel tank...crank the engine a few times to draw the mix into the carburetor...let it sit for several hours to soak, then try to start/see what happens.

      Why? They dent, rust, and chips fall to the bottom. Eventually the paint chips in little peices end up in equipment. I was a power generation mechanic in the Army. I've seen it all from metal cans, including a fuel fungas that worked its way through a Brigade creating huge issues.
      I never knew about the need to stable fuel till I got a 15 hp 4 stroke Mercy. I did everything buy the manual. I just thought it was fussy from the new emissions stuff. I ended up getting rid of it and it was 3-4 years old. If I would have used Seafoam I'm most certain I would have had no issues.

    • @SeaFoamOfficial
      @SeaFoamOfficial  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Chris: For a carburetor intake motor like a snow blower, Sea Foam must be working through the carburetor circuits to clean. It seems in your case that Sea Foam probably didn't help with starting because it could not have reached the carburetor without running. However, now that the Sea Foam mix is flowing through the carburetor passageways after running a bit, it will be working to clean away the gum and varnish that cause starting and running problems.
