Shhh… It’s time for our A Quiet Place: Day One Review. We returned to the world of the A Quiet Place franchise for the first time without the creator, John Krasinski, behind the camera. Michael Sarnoski, director of the critically-acclaimed Nicolas Cage film ‘Pig’, now has the reins and guides us into a familiar but different version of the A Quiet Place world. Unlike A Quiet Place and A Quiet Place Part II, we are in New York City with a whole new cast of characters including Lupita Nyong’o’s Samira and Joseph Quinn’s Eric.

Ngl I hadn’t seen the first two before going into this movie. Didn’t think I needed to since it was a prequel/spinoff. My main gripe with the film is that anytime you have a drove of the same monster/alien, that works so well as a single entity as a menacing presence in a film, immediately goes away when there is like 100 of them during the day. The xenomorph in Aliens work cause there is one alien but by the time you hit AVP they are no longer that scary.
