3:03 the game looks and perform wayyy better if you set your draw distance setting slider to around 70 percent instead of full 100 percent. The slightly faded distant buildings look very nice and it adds depth to the scene. The difference is unbelievable.

Guess they updated it after you did your video. Bummer. Was going to try these, then remembered these are probably Windows files and I am on Linux, I can get the game to work on Steam via Proton, but not sure if I can take advantage of the mods. Drat!
@@TruckFarmer I uploaded that mod to nexus. In the video when I showcase the trainer you can see the water is original since the community modpack doesn't work with it. But the Mafia v1.2 Trainer + 9 does work and has godmode, infinite ammo, just no flying.
For those of you that have issues with Mafia Community Modpack V2.1 i found something that my help, at least in my case helped a lot: When you install the mafia community modpack and you have to choose which wrapper to install, don't choose dgVoodoo v2.54 DirectX, choose the other one Crosire v1.7.0. I tested both of them and i found out that Crosire it is much more stable and the game doesn't lag.The framerate stays between 55 and 70fps. I keep my game capped at 90fps because i feel that it is much smoother. With dgVodoo the game was lagging to much and the framerate was constantly dropping below 40fps. I don't have a low end pc. I run the game on a laptop that has an intel core i7 7700hq, a Gtx 1050Ti and 16GB RAM. It is a midrange laptop. If you are wondering if the other mods are working with the Crosire Wrapper the answer is yes. Everything is working just fine.The graphic mods are working, the water shader works. Everything is loaded into the game and works.
I actually don't recommend the WideScreen Fix, because, at least in the cutscenes, you sometimes see things that you are not supposed to see, like a character spawning, originally out of camera. And some camera shots are kind of different, i suppose.

That game is a masterpiece. Great story, characters, gameplay (except for some missions, camera position when you walk on your feet), somewhere hard, great atmosphere.. And why old games have soul, meanwhile most new no?..
this was one of the games where makers wanted to create something high quality. most new games are treated as a ''product'' to just sell allot to casuals nomatter what. this game(2002) is art. hence the last mission name i guess death of art(pun on that they were in gallery too). it's very easy to see the there are allot of details to make the game more alive, they didn't need to do these but they did it anyway. that's why after decades this game still gets the praise it deserves. the remake in other hand...i played 5 minutes in freeride i understand it sucked. car handling felt like weird boats, chases quit immidietly fast(made easy) so on so on. is like remake slided on originals fat and all what was new graphics and they wrecked the good aspects of it completely.

I actually like the Real Car Brands and even sometimes Exploding Barrels (it's fun hahah) But I agree with the rest, great gaming experience with the mods) Also you should totally add Freeride Extended, that's a game changer in Free Ride mode :)
Okay so I've got a decently powerful PC, I've had troubles with the Mafia Community Modpack in the past, but the same thing happened. The game is extremely choppy for no reason, it doesn't even use any resources so I'm extremely confused. I've even reset my PC twice in the past 2 months because these just don't work. Can you please help me with this?
You do need quite a powerful PC for these mods, particularly the draw distance, which seems to be taxing. Don't be surprised that it's choppy. I suggest playing vanilla since it's just hassle-free and quick. The mods do make it look quite nice, huge props to the developers for making them, but they are just not viable for most people. Do restore the music though, as that is easy and risk-free.
It's also gets choppy for me, but not as much now that I dint use the cars face-lift mod, just decrease the draw distance or, just install the other 3 mods mgv talked about, you won't have any problems after that
There is one crucial mod that was left out and that is the mafia trees project 3.0. All the trees in the vanilla game look like 2 pieces of 2d images put together so that they cross each other. This mod will change that with real 3d looking trees. It just completes the community modpack imo. Also, real car facing mod worth a try if you have a NASA like PC, and if you like 30s cars. Cause the ones you see in Mafia are like cars in GTA. They look similar to their real counterpart, but they differ in a lot of details. RCF however is the real deal. Racing mod is also a nice addition, although it is sometimes buggy.
maybe it´s just me but i like the vanila more. i don´t play the steam version so i have all of that music but maybe i will install that draw distance mod what will scale the game correctly. yea only for this xd. i just like those old textures.
Based of this, people must be allowed to have gone nuts when they saw the drastic changes they made with mafia 3. Lincoln Clay story etc was grate. Repetitive BS missions not so much. It really was not Mafia and it was BROKEN so badly and worse overall to Mafia 2. But not going to lie. Liked Lincoln far more then Vito in Mafia 3.

I also get a No Country for Old Men one man army vibe they polished mafia 3 a little more with fleshed out new story missions, map updates, and driving mechanics and it’s actually better than the mafia remake hands down The slow mo feature is kinda cool too and is a total copy of franklins driving ability in gta 5
i did notice a tiny little problem with the community modpack (i had it installed before this vid btw) which is when ur camera has no space, it zooms into "first person", so basically it zooms into ur head while ur character becomes invisible. sadly the eye models stay visible, ig i understand why now, u said that the mod uses the cutscene version characters, that would make sense. yes. i just wrote this entire text to point out one tiny little thing in one of millions and millions of games 😂 wtf am i doing with my life bruh, i should go sleep now. peace 😎
I think this mods make the game so heavy to run. HD textures allocate a lot of vram and that cause my relatively modern pc drops frames. 8 gigs of system ram is barely enough to run modded version. That's why l stick to the original game. Thanks for the video anyway. 👍
All these mods just improve the visuals and such.. I was hoping for script mods that make you want to play the freeride mode. Sort of like the ancient Omerta mod, which allowed you to be a capo, you have your own crew, you can engage in street battles, shootouts, take over territories, run hooch deliveries..etc But that mod was taken down..
I tried the mod. Its kinda bad in night because its make some building lamps gone and full black. But this make little light look very bright. Except that, all good.
well, i installed the GOG version (without original music), then deleted it. reintalled the fairlight version (mount cd1, mount cd2 etc). game works fine, but the mod doesnt. i download the widescreen mod and noting happend. what to do next so the game will play like a new game?thanks
I installed the mod pack in my non-Steam 3 CD version but it doesnt start, now I get a strange Windows error. When I uninstall the mods it works again.. does it have to be a Steam version? or a 1.3 patched version to work?
I picked the game on Steam yesterday, already slapped the community modpack on it. But I kinda kept the car reskin/rename mod and some other stuff, because I kinda want some stuff being better than in the original game.

There’s also some cheats in Mafia as well, CUMDAL to increase draw distance, MUNICAK for infinite ammo, KREFJEZIVOT to increase health.
