Same here. I’m 48 and was the little bro hanging with the b-boys in fresh suede Pumas and parachute pants breakin’ on that cardboard on the corner sidewalk trying to keep up.
Let me tell you where I got the info from. Read this Interview done by Troy with DJ Chill Wil (Get Fresh Crew): Troy: So now on the final product, Teddy Riley really had nothing to do with it, just helped out in the beginning? DJ Chill Will: He actually gave us a place to do it, and he played the stuff in the house, but on the actual product Ted didn’t play anything. Ted didn’t even come to the studio, and we tried to get him to come, but he was busy.

Are you talking about, “Teach me how to dougie”? Teach Me How to Dougie"? according to Wikipedia is the debut single by American hip hop group Cali Swag District. The song was written by Chanti Glee, Cahron Childs, Corey Fowler, and Ebony Star West, and was released digitally on April 12, 2010, through Capitol Records. It was produced by Runway Star for the group's debut studio album, The Kickback (2011). The title refers to the Dougie dance, which originated in Dallas, Texas by rapper Lil' Wil from his song "My Dougie".
It's a shame and also amazing. A shame that these youngsters didn't experience that era of hip hop as it was happening but amazing that they has TH-cam available to be able to experience it now. To see just how much better rap was back then. The Show is almost 40 years old yet is better than any rap song on the radio today and maybe the last few years.
Bro. Imagine how it was for those of us who heard this when it first dropped back in the days. Hip Hop was brand new and each group was original, for the most part. Slick Rick was the greatest storyteller. I was blown away when I first heard the song La Di Da Di by them. And yes, the Dougie dance was based on a dance that Dougie Fresh used to do in his videos.

Doug E Fresh & Slick Rick are true pioneers. They had the most organic sound even for back then when everyone was basically organic. They’re mixing and their whole vibe just screams authenticity
Yes sweetie that is The Dougie Fresh of the very same Teach Me How to Dougie fame. I love the authentic reactions to the tremendous talent and skill we were blessed with in the 80s and 90s.😊😊😊

Top 5 all time. Game Changer. Creativity off the charts. Never before heard lyrics and percussive use. A brilliant jam. Got to hear it in the club. Doug E Fresh and Slick Rick the full ensemble.
I was 18 years old (in the United States Air Force) stationed at Homestead Air Force Base in Miami, Florida, when this came out. When they played this at the NCO club, all of us on the dance 🕺🏾 floor went Absolutely 😅Crazy. It was one of the best days of my life....I just didn't know it. 🧐☺️🙏🏽
7:58 His jab at The Disco 3 who became The FAT BOYS 🙏🏾Rest In Peace BUFFY(The Human Beat Box)🙏🏾 🙏🏾Rest In Peace Prince Markie D🙏🏾 and Michelle My Belle is a Beatles Song. Rick took a shot at the French part.........AND STILL ROCKED IT 🤣.
Great reaction bluud, I was 10 when this came out, the whole world was nuts. Great reaction man, you really rocked to this song, excuse me, this Classic.
I'm an old-head, and I've loved this song for decades now. Got the chance to see Doug E host a party (on his own, without Slick Rick, Barry B, Chill Will) and out of habit I started doing some of Slick Rick's lines when they were bouncing back and forth in the song, and Doug E started pointing at me every time it was time for a Slick Rick line. He also did a freestyle 10 minute+ beatbox that was phenomenal. Just otherworldly. Another song from Doug E I highly recommend is "Spirit" from the Ghostbusters 2 soundtrack. Criminally underrated.
Hip hop in the '70s and '80s was real! Now understand why they said hip hop is dead. Only a few has been keeping hip hop alive. You cannot have hip hop without scratching or beatboxing. Those are exclusive ultimate power of hip hop!
It's French-not Spanish-Slick Rick was rapping; he was saying the girl's name-Michelle-and the word "belle" (beautiful) go well together. The Show is my favorite from that time, when I was in 9th grade. If you want a good song suggestion, check out My Philosophy by Boogie Down Productions. 👍
I was just out of high school when this came out. Watching ur facial expressions have me dying, seeing how much u enjoy what youngsters call old school hip-hop. Keep exploring and discovering timeless gems of the past. I want 2 watch u listen 2 Special Ed "I got it made" 😏
I can't seem to remember what I did yesterday, but somehow every word of this song is easily available for my memory to pull up, even after not hearing for decades! Love this!
i played the 12" of this song so often i drove my mother crazy with it... The Show & La Di Da Di i also loved the 12" of The Rocksteady Crew, Hey You & Uprock
Great reaction and love seeing these old school jams being reacted to. Another classic track around that time is "Jam On It" by Newcleus you may want to check out

7:58 His jab at The Disco 3 who became The FAT BOYS
🙏🏾Rest In Peace BUFFY(The Human Beat Box)🙏🏾
🙏🏾Rest In Peace Prince Markie D🙏🏾

I don’t think this kid caught that reference to the fat boys
I love your reactions. when these raps come are on, I'm dancing the dances from that time. At 61.
Doug E. Fresh has his own brand of UNIQUENESS when it comes to the BEATBOXING GAME.
Great reaction bluud, I was 10 when this came out, the whole world was nuts. Great reaction man, you really rocked to this song, excuse me, this Classic.
Pure Classic! 😊
Slick Rick was born in the UK and moved to NYC as a teenager

Doug E Fresh (AKA The Human Beat Box)
this was the 1st hip hop song i ever heard, i believe it was 1984... CLASSIC..! i was 9yrs. old and i would never b the same again...
Doug was the first Beat Boxer
i don't know about that, there was the fat boys back then, but certainly in the top 3
@@autodidacticTrue, Fat Boys did drop first, with Buff being the beat box, I know his name was Buffy, but I never called him that, R.I P Buff. ✌🏾
Yeah he's from the UK and lived in the Bronx. 205st.
Yes he moved from the UK to NY
In 1976, at the age of 11 or 12, he and his family immigrated to the United States, settling in the Baychester area of the Bronx.
Everybody loves a star Doug E Fresh. One of my faves.
Agreed, French. Those were lyrics from a Beatles song called Michelle.
@@mozilla2576That's cool. I didn't know they're Beatles lyrics. 👍
I was just out of high school when this came out. Watching ur facial expressions have me dying, seeing how much u enjoy what youngsters call old school hip-hop. Keep exploring and discovering timeless gems of the past. I want 2 watch u listen 2 Special Ed "I got it made" 😏
Whodini The Freaks Come Out At Night/5 Minutes Of Funk
I still have this record. Yes, I'm old...I said record...album...vinyl. 😂
5 Minutes of Funk is one of my favorites!
@@tswcc02 Funky Beat is my favorite. The beats on all of their songs are banging.
I can't seem to remember what I did yesterday, but somehow every word of this song is easily available for my memory to pull up, even after not hearing for decades! Love this!
PARLIAMENT FUNKADELIC
Knee Deep is my favorite PFunk song 🎵 ❤️
Slick Rick moved to New York from the uk around age 11
Inspector Gadget
i played the 12" of this song so often i drove my mother crazy with it... The Show & La Di Da Di
i also loved the 12" of The Rocksteady Crew, Hey You & Uprock
Great reaction and love seeing these old school jams being reacted to.
Another classic track around that time is "Jam On It" by Newcleus you may want to check out
This song changed Hip Hop for the times. I’m 58 and remembers when this came out that summer. I pulled the record back to learn this rap.
😂 your reactions make me laugh out loud! 😂😂
