Finally started my own channel restoring my Great Grandfather’s 150 acre property. Your videos and candor with them helped me to get my first video out, so thank you!
That doohickey that you used to cut in the Crisco with the other ingredients is called a pastry cutter. I used one the other day and asked my Pampered Chef expert (wife of 62 years) what it is called.👍👍
Hey Joe, Just wanted to say I really enjoy watching your videos. We have property in western North Carolina in Madison county. Going to build there when we retire. 5 more years. You've given me a lot of ideas about gardening and such when we move there. The biscuits look great. I remember my grandmother making biscuits and with the last bit of the dough she would make my brother and I an Ugly biscuit. Always looked forward to that. Keep the videos coming. God bless. Dave
Had a bowl of cereal at 4am decided to watch the video before going to work. Made me wish I was a little boy again at grandma and grandpa’s house. Grandpa raised hogs along with everything else, his sausage hot !hot !sausage along with grandma’s biscuits . Hope you do a video when you make a stew.
@@Jtwes I'm sure you do since you make them bisquits. My mom rasied us boys to fend for ourselves and taught us how to cook, bless her heart cause I like to eat. Lol. I still haven't masterd her cornbread she makes in the cast iron skillet though.
I cheat and use the same brand flour but they make one that is called buttermilk biscuit mix that has chunks of shortening already in it. My wife doesn’t know the secret yet and tells everybody I make the best biscuits haha but I use a pizza stone just like you and they always turn out perfect
@@Jtwes on a different note, i know you planned a large green bean garden. I recently decided to pickle some green beans and they are crazy good. They go well as part of a light meal on a hot day. That's awesome that you cook also.
Joey you are indeed a man with a wide range of skills. I enjoy your videos and had no idea just how much I would enjoy a non tractor video. But I did. You would be a treasure at deer camp my friend. I guess I got to say to keep on making them, especially one on gravy. Yum. Stan here.
Hey Ms. Regina. Thank You I think I will . I do enjoy cooking. The joke around the house is , I’m the one you have to keep away from the pampered chef catalog.
Joe I'm nominating you for husband of the year. A man that can make biscuits like that deserves the honor! I'd love to see a corn bread video and also one on how you restore and take care of cast iron cookware.
@@Jtwes Please on the sawmill gravy. I have a difficult time boiling water truth be told. I do love home made biscuits and gravy. Still, as a child of the 40’s I somehow manage to feed myself. Thanks Joey. A man of many skills.
I live central NC don’t know if you’ve tried Bass farm sausage. We don’t have it our area but when I travel east I’ll buy several pounds. They make mild and hot and the hot will light you up but the flavor makes up for it.
Makes my mouth water just to look at those bistits. I grew up "sopping" cane syrup with them. But I guess nowadays most folks would consider that an undignified way to eat. 😂 Nice job 👍
@@Jtwes That'll work too. I've "sopped" about everything with them at one point or another. Just one of those essentials at any meal. Waiting on that skillet cornbread making now - I know what to do with it too. 😊 Have a great one.

You're as messy as I am. I do wear an apron. Perhaps for plow day you and I can have a bake competition: your homemade biscuits vs my home made sourdough cinnamon bread.
Heck I was thinking of backing out of plow day due to the insane fuel prices. But now you are sweetening the pot so to speak. 700 miles one way. But my lawyer insisted I can’t take “it” with me!
@@lamontpowell6235 LaMont you are fortunate for sure. I can’t do the trip in one day anymore. So I’m looking at 4-5 days if I do come. Don’t know if I would bring a tractor at 11 mpg average for 1,400 miles. Probably drive w/o at 21mpg and much safer. Just hang out and hope for a hot biscuit!

Beautiful biscuits Joe. Reminds me of how Poppaw and Grandma made their biscuits. 💕♥️

Best flour to make some flour tortillas 😋.
Now I must say your biscuits are pretty good 😊
Are they Better than Leno’s tortilla’s
@@Jtwes Heck no! LoL
Yeah, you like them big ole cat head biscuits. Nothing better than car head biscuits and milk gravy made from fried food drippings.
I’m going to do a gravy video with bacon or sausage dripping.

This brings back childhood memories of the way my mother made biscuits. I may have to try it this weekend.

I believe all farm boys my age (59.5) were taught by their grandma's how to make biscuits.
