Bout to listen to this and pour a drink
Good stream Pat and thanks for continuing to bring the issues of this team to the forefront. Pat in all honesty I haven't been able to talk about this team in public for over 5 years. Outside of what i do here on TH-cam. Like when football conversations spark in the workplace or in everyday life I have little to say about this team smh. I used to jump right into those conversations with pride and go toe to toe with any member of a fanbase. Haven't been able to do that for a good amount of time at this point.
Hey. No big injuries. We take it one game at a time. A win against Washington, and we are back in it.
danny looked sharp af, good thing they didn’t play the starters that much during the preseason. 😂.
I hope you do write it, fans should be heard. They are the one's who buy the tickets and merchandise. This effort and unprepared teams is unacceptable. Sad part is they ,the players are still getting rich. I drove a truck for 36 years and got up at 2:30 am every day
all this after one game im embarresed to be a giants fan! dj finna prove yall wrong again
Yes, fans want to see that team win but at least make it competitive and look like you can move the ball down the field.
If they play like this against Washington. They should fire Schoen and Daboll then give Kafka and Brandon Brown the opportunity to see what they can do
Mara, Please call Bill Belichick he's unemployed and has won many superbowls.
please don't
It all starts at the top.Under Mara's & Tisch's leadership this team has continued to slide downward, ever since they forced Tom Coughlin out.
I've missed 4 games since 1962. Two because of circumstance. One because I didn't realize the Giants were playing on Sat. (about 25 years ago) ... And this game, which I decided to view AFTER it was over ... I tried to avoid seeing the who won, and the score ... but I failed. And so, I avoided the pain of Seeing it live ... ugh ... I smell a very high draft pick ... that's sure to lure a good head coach and GM ... lol ... (I'd call it a pretty sure bet it's Belichick)
Saquon is playing behind a very good OL in Philly. What would he have done here? Lol
13 carries for 26 yards, ... that's what he would have done here ...
Ive been a Giants fan for 50 years. Ive seen a lot of back QB play on this team. For the prolonged length of time. This has to be the worst. I've tried to support Daniel Jones over the years, but enough is enough.
How does KT get benched for a penalty but DJ doesn't get benched for how bad he was? No accountability. DJ has the longest leash I've ever seen any QB have in my lifetime.
D-line guys rotate out all the time, QB's never do unless there is an issue.
You bench your EDGE for a bit, even if its "punishment" for a penalty it doesn't cause a real stir, most people don't even notice.
You bench your QB, you've made a statement that you can't spin your way out of. I can understand that in week one, you aren't prepared to make that statement in the heat of the moment... especially when your backup QB has been hurt most of the off-season and isn't fully healthy even now.
Embarrassing performance all around. When does Mara fire himself and hire a president that can find football talent
Never, can't put this on the owner.
@@omegator6893 ? Mara hired Reese, who destroyed the SB team Accorsi built. And Gettleman, worst GM in modern NFL history. And now Schoen, who wasted multiple top 10 picks and built today’s embarrassing bunch. And Mara selected a bunch of ineffective HC’s. Yeah, it’s Mara.
@@omegator6893😂are u fucking kidding me. John mara thought Danny was the next ELI. OFCOURSE Ownership IS ALSO TO BLAME. WTF ‼️ 😂
@jameshunt3504 Yeah even the Mannings thought he was the next Eli just more mobile. Mara felt Danny didn't get a chance having a new OC every year. They got Dabol and Danny played good enough to take the team to the playoffs and beat the Vikings. After that the oline plays horrible allowing a record 85 sacksDanny goes to the IR and now he's damaged goods. Mara hired a young GM and headcoach from a successful program in the Bills. He stated he wouldn't interfere and let them build the team. Owners ain't going anywhere.
@billm7035 Reese did not destroy Accorsi SB team, Reese is credited for two SB winning teams. So you can say he destroyed his own SB teams. Mara hired Gettleman because he came from Accorsi's tree. It didn't work out but 20 other teams have the same problem. No owner can see the future you get lucky sometimes when you hire the right guys. All NFL teams go through droughts but I got to see the Giants win all 4 Lombardi's and only 4 teams have more SB wins so be patient the owners want to win.
That was disgusting. Jones looks like that next week and I bench him. No more of that.
Jones and dabol must go bring in bellicheck please
Okay, I completely believe that you basically know that behind the scenes the players are tense and things aren't good.
But I'm curious to the real source of that tension. You loosely said because jobs are on the line... but why?
From my perspective, the overall roster isn't awful, it's not great but it's not awful. I don't even really see any clear signs of things being poorly coached.
But the one thing that we all clearly saw this week and you have to assume the players have seen all summer, is that Jones just isn't able to be a QB anymore.
I'd guess the tension is largely stemming from the team knowing that DJ is toast and therefore the team has no chance for success this year, at least not while he is playing.
I can say, as someone who has always liked Jones and defended him... there just isn't anything left after this performance. Its not personal, I still like the kid but at this point in time there is no way to avoid it, mentally he is not capable of being a starting QB.
If anything goes wrong, if the play isn't run exactly as drawn up, if the defense shifts from what he expected pre-snap, Jones just blanks out, he's "seeing ghosts" or something similar, he just can't process it at all.
Maybe he could recover out of this after spending some time as a backup on a new team that eventually gets a chance to start in few years... but he will never, ever recover as a Giant. It's just done.
How was he successful two seasons ago? Genuine question.
@@humanbeing2420 There are multiple levels to that answer.
For starters Jones was given a fresh slate, new scheme, new staff and they developed a system that Jones was comfortable with and capable of executing.
You had some early successes and it helps built confidence... confidence for a QB is an often overlooked aspect that plays a huge part of how a QB's season/career will go.
Not all defenses we played were particularly good at adjusting to that system but you saw it start to be exposed especially towards the end, except for the Vikings whose defense was putrid.
Really there are only three things you need to do to stop that offense:
1) Get some level of pressure throughout the game. Jones is increasingly skittish about pressure and it rattles him easily.
2) Confuse DJ. Changing the defensive look from pre-snap to post-snap, force receivers to re-route, etc. If the play doesn't get run as it was drawn up, if the defense isn't doing what you expected it would do before the snap... DJ's mind freezes and he panics.
3) Be ready to contain DJ's scrambles and be ready to jump short routes... the things Jones will do when he panics.
That's why Daboll has made the effort to focus on getting the ball downfield. The only way to force the defense to play "honest" is to make them pay for cheating up on the short stuff.
The problem is DJ just seems unable/unwilling to take those shots and there is no scheme, no coaching, no magic that can overcome that limitation.
Basically the book is out on DJ league wide, even bad defenses can beat him, they don't even have to execute particularly well to do so.
It may not only have been the QB but everything changes with the QB. If the Giants had a professional QB the team wouldn’t look this bad. It’s all about the damn QB. What a joke that we have to sit thru this another season.
The fans are done with DJ. It won't go well from here barring a miraculous turnaround. Problem is Lock also has 5 mill guaranteed and he is looking like a paper clip. If DJ looks bad against washington, it's going to get messy AF
Dex is just frustrated. He’s the only player killing it game after game
Look at the positives: We shut down their kicking game. Zero field goals.
We want Bill Belichick as head coach and Daniel Jones gone!
Oline wasn't bad in pass pro..1st half jones had time but sucked and 2nd half vikings could pin ears back
Honestly thought we would lose this one. 😢🎉
What I think More so is that not sure whether I'd trust shoen to draft franchise qb next year. Unfortunately I don't think he makes good picks overall.
26:11 It’s the same reason people end up in toxic relationships or settle with the wrong person. They see the good and latch on to that. What they believe the person to be or the potential they see in that person completely blinds them from seeing the reality of what the person actually is. By the time they realize it they’ve already wasted years, money, and time.
It's a long season folks. I'm not a fan of midseason firings. The Giants need to let things play out then make evaluations at the end of the season. Pulling the cord now solves nothing. Belichick 2025.

Oh 2024 week 1 is far worse. The Cowboys were a far better team, AT getting hurt in the first series, crazy pressure etc... at least all gave an excuse and a valid excuse still creates hope.
After this game, it's just over, there is no excuse.
Fire GM and Head Coach they both are the reason we saw that horrible game that just happened
draft watch week 1

Call belichick now
Coach has to go,had enough time to make the NY a contender ! NY looked like they were Coached by the key Stone Cops!
Walker John Anderson Frank Lee Robert
Brian Daboll and Daniel Jones should go! This team is poorly coached! DJ is a mental wreck!
You might as well throw away Schoen as well while you are at it, if you are going that route. No point in half-assing a reset. Either keep Schoen and Daboll and let them draft a new QB and see what they can do or flush it all.
That dropped passes - not all but most were poorly placed passes.
No need to over analyze. WE know exactly what and who they are as a team. The coaching staff did a terrible job preparing the team. The playcalling and scheming were awful, they can’t score, Daniel Jones making rookie mistakes is unacceptable, the pass rush was nonexistent, and the secondary is still inexperienced and far from where it needs to be.
I’m sick of the lip service. I don't care what Daboll, Schoen, or the players have to say. If you want the truth about this team, look to outside sources because you won’t get it from this pathetic organization. How do you justify getting worse every year? You don't see the progress you should in a rebuild.
Not Shocked this team is trash with a 3rd string QB starting for this team defense can't stop a nose bleed what a JOKE 😂
Pat with 2 massive stupid comments about Hurts and Prescott. Its so obvious fanbases and beat writers get dumber when the team sucks because they dont know what good football looks like. Hurts is pretty good at reading the field but not great...thats literally Dak's biggest strength. Daniel Jones is the worst at it.
That's from talking to people in the NFL who know more football than both you and me.
I remembered when everyone was singing daboll’s praises. How quickly that has changed. It’s time to move on from daniel jones. One thing i will say though this giants OL looks pathetic.
I don't know what you were watching. I won't say the O-line was great by any stretch but it looked better than what we've seen in a long, long time.
Frankly the O-line play, from my perspective was one of the few bright spots out there.
