    Hi Erica, you could make great aprons out of that upholstery fabric with those big gorgeous flower prints. I bet that would look fantastic. Congrats on the piano too.

    Sofa cushions from the pretty upholstery fabrics.
    Swiss batist the lace cotton is called here, used for blouses, underskirts, baby or girl dresses, baptism or first communion dresses...

    WOW You are a lucky woman go get all that beautiful fabric. I can imagine all the things you will make out of them. If and only if you have no use for the salvages on any and all of the fabrics I would gladly pay for them. Why throw them out when I can use them in sewing crafts. Have a great day.

    Wow what a great freebie haul! All that flannel would be great for children's quilt backings even pieced. Piano that is an absolutely best kind of gift to receive.

    Oh oh oh - Erica - look up fabric Christmas trees- some of your upholstery fabric would be great for it!! (and you just cover cardboard tubes for the base.)
    Edited to add: you can always make burp cloths & diaper covers with some of that flannel too - real cute!
    Loved looking at your haul - very nice!!!

    ooooh I was smiling from start to finish, beautiful fabric haul, you have a wonderful friends. I have a question please, do you think using the upholstery fabrics would be to heavy for a quilt/blanket? I live in Brasil and in Sao Paulo it can get quite cold for me, coming from a warm climate(Guyana). Thanks for any tips in advance.
    God bless.

    • @PurpleQuiltCo
      @PurpleQuiltCo  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for your question. You could make a quilt out of upholstery fabric, but I would be concerned that it would be hard to stitch because of the heaviness of the fabric. Also, if you got ready to quilt it, it could be heavy to move around under the needle. There may be other options, such as denim or flannel, that could make a nice warm quilt and be easier to stitch up. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!

    I just found your channel and enjoyed the haul. Now a question. With the big motif fabrics, how do you ensure the pattern isn't lost when turned into a tote? Do you make extra big totes to overcome this problem or do you highlight a smaller motif in the big prints? I hope what I'm saying makes sense.

    • @PurpleQuiltCo
      @PurpleQuiltCo  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for your question. I usually use all over prints in my totes, so I haven't had an issue with big motif fabrics. I would recommend choosing the part of the fabric that you HAVE to have before cutting, then being sure to cut around that particular portion of fabric. I have three sizes of bag that I like to make, so for the larger bags it would be easier to include a bigger motif. I hope that makes sense.
      Thanks for watching!
