  • Questions which are asked by the recruiters or hiring manager's during an industry job interview are discussed. Knowing these questions and having some idea about a reply will help many college students improve their chances of getting a job. STEM (Science, technology, Engineering and Mathematics) students often have difficulty with these types of behavioral interview questions as they are highly engineering and science domain focused.

I have to absolutely say that those who have transitioned to industry after PhD did the doctorate program just to write Dr. before his/her name....That's ridiculous and meaningless

Well there are fields such as life science where PhD is the norm in many jobs. Also a lot of engineers and scientists work as PhD. I have seen many mathematicians working in Airbus in France and using complex topics like topological optimization in airplane wing shape design.

Maybe you should try for PhD. Or keep looking for jobs in other places such as coaching centers etc.

I have Phd in laser spectroscopy and planning to join Industry in Germany as a Post doc fellow. Is it okay to join or I should join some lab in US if I wish to become Assistant professor? Kindly suggest

It is a good idea to get a postdoc in Germany. Then you can apply for jobs in USA from there. You could also apply for the nrc postdoc in USA if there are any good openings.
