Thank you everyone for your comments and kind words. If you have a passion to do something...get out there and do it. The regret over not doing what you love to is too great a burden to live with.
A true love of life is evident in your work. It also shows in your humility and the reverence you have for your work. Thank you on behalf of all the people who get to view that beautiful work.
I just watched your video, and got a real “feel” for the Artist, I think that your an inspiration to the younger crowd that has an interest in learning, and that gives you as an artist incredible value to the art form that we love so much, if I can ever help you in any way I’m here, thanks for being you Dano.
Great work! I knew you were Canadian when you started talking.👍🇨🇦love to look at hand painted signs, puts vinyl to shame, no soul! Hope to see more of your work for years to come!
Dano, been a signwriter since I left school in 79 I STILL get a buzz from it..I do the vinyl thing too as it pays the bill's. I'm getting back into my brushwork..finding this is just awesome dude..Thank you Love a video walk about of your shop, looks cool.
First I want to say is your work looks amazing. As a beginner of this amazing art of sign painting and pinstriping your words mean alot. To hear your story and passion is motivation to keep practicing.
Thanx Danno;I love the work you do,and you are very inspiring .I picked up a brush 10 yrs. ago,put it down and just recently picked up my brush again.I don't know anything compared to you,but your art really gets my juices flowing and I want to do my artwork BUT I feel I'm to old and I am disabled but I still want to do it.Thank You for your pep talk.
rockymontana1 You'll never be too old sir! Hell, I'm 63, and I've only been into this a couple years myself. I'm a musician, and a portrait artist, but I love those letters! so pick up that brush and ever put it down again! Peace
Jack Duffee Thanks Jack,Your words are the words I really needed to hear,I'm 61 and disabled and still have big love for art and cars.I have all kinds of brushes and and have painted before ,nothing for money just practice lettering and some striping.Thanx again...God Bless
Good attitude and great work! Your outlook is similar to mine. I've also told customers I'd gladly take their money, but they and I wouldn't be happy with the final product. Sometimes less is more! I've been in the biz since 1983, and never stop learning. And I'm a southpaw too! Same technique, I don't use a mahl stick either.
You are amazingly talented! I can only hope to become as crafted as you one day...you're inspirational to me and I'm sure to many others as well. Next time I'm in Brantford, I'll watch for your work. :) Thanks for sharing!
What absolutely breathtaking work, I have seen pinstriping (on YT) BUT this is awesome absolute artwork. Well done, seems difficult to get a basic pinstripe here in UK and/or its an arm and a leg or only do it as part of a repair or repaint.....
Could you please share, how you go about charging for work? I love how people like my work, but I give it away. I cannot figure out how to charge without knowing if I’m too high and then I loose the work. Thanks
I started striping around 1958. Done it all. People would ask why my own car didn't have any striping and I'd tell them I've been too busy but in reality...I wouldn't have striping on my own vehicle except for straight line and body enhancing!
thanks for the great job you did on my Caprice convertible at WOTB this year. Finally got my dream car and I'm trying to decide if i should bring it out to you or tie you up for a few hours at this years WOTB.... got some great ideas for this one but as you're the artist I will again defer to your creativity
