It surprises me how many people are still playing with the GM TPI. They can’t be beat for low and mid range , which means GM SHOULD have put these in their trucks!
Fitech makes a stand alone wiring harness with boost ready ecu data logging capabilities with touchscreen and everything for $800-900 bucks depending on when you catch it on sale. Basically make stupid turbo power for very little coin 800-900 hp and torque without an LS is easier than people think 😮
That "gasket matching" on the base at the runner tube openings, I'm sure that's done at the factory. I have an Accel base, which is just a rebadged Edelbrock base, and it's exactly like that too. Little bit of grinding and cleanup going about an inch or so into the round end of the port, and a basic gasket matching to a 1205 gasket on the head end of the port. I'm sure that's all factory, every Accel and Edelbrock base I've seen was like that.
I’m not sure why you referring to the intake as “junk” the TPI intake is badass the factory ecu that ran them is lacking for sure maybe on the cusp of “junk” especially for what we have now standards. The super long runners on a TPI are absolutely amazing for low end torque production and heavy vehicles. They run out of steam pretty early in the rpm band and nothing you can do about that. Horrible decision to put it in a sports car instead of truck or suv. But much much better than quasi ecu q-jet trash or the absolute turd TBI setup!! Think about the timeframe when they were made? Gm was trying to make gutless cars act like muscle cars of the 60s with the epa demanding pollution and mileage so they equipped it to an 4L Slippy trans with the ridiculously low first gear = tada first gear burnout capabilities 😂.
U can use tbi computer and wiring just splice injector wires into the tpi and it will work I done it myself .just have to have the wiring for individual injectors

I meant 3 bar map sensor boost ready

That base and runners might fetch $800-$1000 to the right TPI guy
I ended up getting $1400 for everything
@@RyanBooth3 Wow, I believe it...its not easy finding this stuff. What is your eBay store?
Still got this? There should be an edelbrock part # on there somewhere that should tell you what version of their tpi setup this is.
This is long gone unfortunately
L98 for a pickup would be awesome I bet
Always wanted to give it a try if I could get the money together for it. Seems like it would be very torquey

What’s the point of this video?
Maybe rename it: “Complaining about stuff I bought on eBay” ?
😆🤣🤣
Can I use this on my stock 1989 c1500 V8 sbc
You could but you would have to convert to a TPI computer and harness

Why do you call it junk?
I call everything junk, even if I like it
@@RyanBooth3 Do you still have it?
No I sold it. I buy and sell a lot of after market TPI
It is STILL better than the original TPI setup, it will handle more power. The OEM tpi was done for 305 cid.
Do you still have this TPI stuff?
No I sold this one
