The really interesting thing about Tarja is that even though her latest albums may not be charting so well, her success and fame doesn't actually have all that much to do with her music. From the very beginning, she was one of the world's best classical singers and had a promising career in Finnish Opera. It's true that her worldwide fame wouldn't be where it is today if she hadn't started out with Nightwish, but she was well on her way to a very nice living regardless. She's not really famous for her solo albums anymore. Her dayjob, and the thing she's actually well-known and respected worldwide for, is being one of the world's best classical sopranos. It's her operas and hired singing that form the real basis of her career, I'd be surprised if "In the Raw" even broke even. She does the metal music part purely as an artistic outlet for her and enjoyment for us. That's what I love most about her, she doesn't have to do this. She'd likely still be a super-celebrity making millions of euros per year even if she'd never recorded a commercially-released song in her life. She does this for us.

This song is extremely emotional and exquisite it made me cry and I am super happy that Tarja and her team behind decided to make such a beautiful thing with US, the fans. Yes. This song is gorgeous. Effortlessly and soaringly sung by Tarja with a straightfoward music arrangements highlighting the vocals. I like it better than WT's Supernova and Nightwish's Elan.

Kif Bender - Hi there. Having obtained and heard Tarja's "In the Raw" in full, I definitely like it a lot. I am sometimes infuriated that Tarja's music is better than her videos, and she chose not to make videos of her better songs on the albums. Anette with the Dark Element is fine. It suits style. But I miss her singing songs like "Eva" and "Slow Love Slow".
This is when Tarja shines. She can do it, struggles with it amid all the demons of the past that torment her in the dark. But when she shines, we all shine together with her.

When you hear gorgeous soaring vocals in songs like these it makes me appreciate just how spoiled we are to have such a voice as Tarja's in the metal genre.......she always had the option with her superhuman talents to sell-out and become a pop queen, etc selling out stadiums of 50k people, instead of the intimate theatre concerts we enjoy of maybe 5k max.....just another endearing quality of the Goddess she's in it for the music not the money when lets face it she could dominate any genre she decided to sing for.....haha, except Hip-hop, I just cannot possibly picture Rapper Tarja.......I gotta go wash my mouth out with soap just for saying that :D
This song is really beautiful, the lyrics are full of meaning, especially the first four verses and I like that Tarja uses different styles and not just the operatic style that she used to use almost exclusively.
