Pretty sure it was meant sarcastically (they are becoming native if they can do sarcasm subtilty enough it's not noticed)
That said, recent Fray Bentos pies, since they realised that the changed (shite) recipes weren't selling have actually gone back to being acceptable as an emergency keeps in the cupboard for ever food item.

Have you guys been to Beamish - The Living Museum yet? I went for the first time a couple of weeks ago, and loved it…. You can see how the North of England looked right from the 1820s through to the 1950s, and walk through houses, try the food, experience shops and transport and pubs and cinemas….well worth a look!

@@TheMagicGeekdom Try the Black Country Living Museum (near Birmingham) or Blist's Hill Victorian Town (in Shropshire). Both are like Beamish, but with a slightly different slant to them. The Black Country Living Museum is about the foundries and coal mines, hence the Black Country name ; it was filthy with all the chimneys and foundries belching away! Blist's Hill has a slightly less grimy side to it, although it was the Cradle of the Industrial Revolution.

Although born in Putney, my parents were living in Richmond-upon-Thames at the time, in a flat in the Art Deco Hillbrow apartments on Friars Stile Road, up on Richmond Hill.
For the first two years of my life (of which, I only have the sketchiest of memories now), I grew up in the area where Ted Lasso lived in the TV series. It was only a 10-minute walk downhill to Richmond Green from the Hillbrow flat, which is the open grassy park across from The Princes Head pub (ie "The Crown & Anchor", in the Ted Lasso TV series).
All these years later, I can still clearly recall being taken many times to the Green as a small child, where I could play to my heart's content.
Shortly after I turned two, we moved away from Richmond and to a town located 30 miles deep in the surrounding countryside.
But Richmond was (and still is) lovely, and the many fond memories of the area, that were constantly evoked by the TV show, still give the 'warm-and-fuzzies' even now.

The food they do is first class, with a five course meal in the evenings that changes every day depending on what local produce has come in, not a bad price either. Definitely worth at least a weeks stay as there is so much to do.....The castle was founded at the end of the 16th century, with a major re-build in the mid 18th century

Try the national express coach or the mega bus to travel across Britain, it's much cheaper and more reliable than the train, the train service outside of London can be troublesome at times .
I live in Norwich, Norfolk in the UK, I travelled from Norwich to victoria bus station in London to Edinburgh in Scotland for £30 ..... Some hostels you can find for £20/40 a night ,
For a cheap meal, you can go to most supermarkets ( Tesco, Asda etc ) and get a meal deal for £3 or £4 , it includes a sandwich or wrap of choice, a drink and a packet of crisps or chocolate bar .

You could set up base somewhere and do day trips to other nearby cities. I wouldn't recommend more than one city per day though, and I would recommend not switching hotels too often because each time you do it you basically waste a day.
