    I am attempting to make my own bobblehead as a gift, but lack time and access to some materials. I don't plan on making copies of it, so is it necessary for me to make a mold? or can I just sculpt my bobblehead, bake it, then paint it??

    • @Herobuilders
      @Herobuilders  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Akida411searcher you do not need to make a mold , but the sculpting material will be fragile over time and it will break over time. I would try to use a sculpting material that is more of a blend and hardens rock hard then a soft sculpy type material.

    • @Akida411searcher
      @Akida411searcher 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Herobuilders not sure if my message got through, but I wanted to say thanks for he info! any kind of sculpt u recommend? also would u say the size of the head hole is the size of a cork from a bottle? or something smaller?

    • @Herobuilders
      @Herobuilders  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Akida411searcher sorry for the delay, I didn't see this message, I would use Sculpy its Super Easy to work with. The hole in the bottom of the head should be about 1/4" overall Dia. bigger than the spring that you use, so the best bet is to get a spring first and then work backwards from there

    How did you make the base of the body and attach it to the wooden piece?

    • @Herobuilders
      @Herobuilders  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** , Oh it is pretty simple the base is store bought from a local arts and crafts store, they have many sizes and the smaller the better for sure. Once you have that base we drilled 2 holes in it for the position of the feet and put wire in those holes for the legs. Then you can add your clay to the wires for the main build up of clay its a simple way to do this part of the process.

    why is the neck so long.\?

    • @Herobuilders
      @Herobuilders  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Jak&Dids It depends on the process you want to use, we make our necks so it has the original travel and movement of how bobbles were historically made. So it give great Up and Down movement and side to side. You can do whatever you like this is just a how to video, so the point is to give you some ideas and knowledge and you can take it from there. There are many bobble builders and each has their own methods of making.
