7 years ago, but still useful. There is a peter pan bus terminal at logan, when you come out of the international exit turn right and look for the signs for peter pan. The only draw back is that you have to use the app to purchase tickets prior to boarding.
From Logan to South Station, the fare is free on the Silver Line. Once you arrive at South Station, you do not need to grab a transfer to connect with the Red Line, as the Silver Line is just downstairs from the Red Line and you don't need to go through different gates. All in one bldg.
not to mention, if you transfer off the red line, unless you go above ground, you wont have to buy a ticket until you finally leave the stations all together.
If you take the SL1 to South Station.... South Station is the final stop. You do not have to keep your luggage with you in the bus. You can store it. The line is very safe - people will not steal it. Remember as you go along more people will be getting on. Do not block the passengers getting on. Store your luggage in the racks and find a seat. When you get to south station the bus driver isn't going anyplace and is in no rush. You will have plenty of time to get your luggage even if there are a whole bunch of people getting off in front of you.

Hey, when I come out of the flight, is baggage claim first and then the arrival gates where my family is meeting me? What way is it laid out? Or will the baggage claim be where my family will be waiting?
If your flight is domestic (or from Canada) then Baggage Claim is a good place to meet family. If you are coming from international location then Arrival Hall after Customs (sequence is - Immigration -> Baggage Claim -> Customs -> Arrival Hall) is a good place to meet. We suggest calling family or pickup at set a location to meet at Airport. Hope this helps! Happy Travels!
Depends on where you are going in Boston. Airport shuttles are free to Blue line T (train) Airport station, but you will have to pay for T (Subway). Once you disembark your plane, collect your bags if needed and take the Airtrain to terminal 4. To get to the Airtrain station, follow the signs for "Airtrain" which is a free service which runs 24 hours 7 days a week. Disembark the train in Terminal 4- look for the electric signs on the train for stops or listen for announcement for Terminal 4. Then once at Terminal 4 check-in for your next flight if needed and walk to your gate. 3 hours should be a good, more than enough time to get to your gate in time. Happy Travels!
