I'm working on this piece right now. I too prefer this tempo. It feels correct for the style and still sounds like a toccata. It IS hard but not impossible. The incessant driving syncopations are the hardest part. Thanks for posting!
Mr. Ryan, this is the first time today I have heard you play. You play with enormous grace, natural phrasing and wonderful smoothness that Glenn Gould could have "considered" in some of his playing. Absolutely no pounding. You let the music speak for itself. Thanks for a beautiful, natural style. I wish I could do it! sanjosemike
