For some reason I always got an emotional lump in the throat whenever I saw the sequence where Tim Curry and his fellow pirates finally reach the treasure and celebrate. I know he's the bad guy in it but it's just beautiful how there is no dialogue, just music.
JunkyardCrap I know, right? That's the genius of this film, not only do you root for the heroes, you even root for the villains. Everyone's a hero in this movie! Or at least that's what I always thought.
Long John is more an anti-villain, even in the original tales - he's a nice guy who just happens to be a pirate.. he's "doing his job" more than actively wanting to hurt people (at least unnecessarily so)
I always compared it to the bit in Die Hard where they finally open the vault and you see Alan Rickman's gobsmacked face. They even said they wanted to show you that the villains worked so hard and actually managed to win for one brief moment. Same thing here.
"Big fat ugly bug face baby eating O'Brian" - my favorite movie line of all time. This film was hilarious, beautiful, and melancholy all at the same time. Watching it gives a strong feeling of nostalgia.
Dunno if you guys gives a damn but if you guys are bored like me atm you can watch pretty much all the latest series on InstaFlixxer. Been watching with my girlfriend during the lockdown :)
I love how 90s kids movies would have the big reprisal of the love song during the credits except with actual singers- I'd have to act like I thought it was stupid, when in reality I thought it was the best thing ever
i've truly always thought this was the most beautiful duet i've ever heard, even when the characters sing it. the lyrics have always just really moved me.

Normally the pop version that plays over the credits is the flipping worst, but for the muppet movies, the pop love songs are as great as the in context versions for different reasons. The movie versions are hilarious because they're sincere love songs sung by muppets, and the pop versions are heartwarming because they're sincere love songs sung straight.
(cont) ...when I hear their voices to it, it just makes me laugh. And I love the Kermit and Miss Piggy, it's just that somehow this type of song just sounds goofy when they sing. All I can say is, THANK GOD for John Berry and Helen Darling, who gave this song dimension. (Sorry, Kermit and Piggy, but John and Helen have got your number on this one. :) )
If only the Muppet Treasure Island soundtrack was available on iTunes or Spotify 😢 then I would have listened to it over and over again 😊 because it’s such a great song to listen to.
"Don't cry for me, Benjamina." "Come again?." (Yes, I meant to have both a "?" and a "." there. Too brusque for just a question mark, but not forceful enough for an interrobang.)

The pop version of "Love Led Us Here" from Muppet Treasue Island is truly one of best version ever from this film in 1996. Also, I love to do cover of this if it's okay with you on this. Plus, I will make sure to credit you in the video as well, please?
I hate when great songs like this aren’t available to download on iTunes. People keep saying to me “Just listen to it off TH-cam”. But what if you’re in a place with not internet connection? Therefore, you will have to listen to it in your music app since it’s downloaded.

Love The Muppets dearly and I always will , but the second verse of this song which was not in the movie version sends chills down my spine and they're not from Long John Silver and his motley crew!
