I love your setup! That buttered rum Mr. Darcy looks so nice! I think using the sticky notes would work well for future planning. You could always make a special page in your daily book for writing down future appointments so you don't have to get another book. And thank you for the shout out :)
I didn't know that you started your own shop on Etsy. Those bookmark knots are adorable! You should think about making inserts like the ones you have washi'd to the pages. Those are perfect!! xoxo Bonnie
One Book July sounds like a great idea. I'll check on that video to find out more. I like put more thought into what I really want to do planner-wise. I bought a big 18-month Happy Planner because I like having more space to write and since I work from home, I don't need to carry it with me. I am planning on using it for projects/business-related stuff. I have yet to put my first entry there...and it starts this month. Trying to look for ideas from fellow crafters/planner enthusiasts. New subbie here. Tfs!
There's tons of happy planner videos out there :) you're absolutely right about finding inspiration from others .. I hope you're able to use it and have fun too! Thank you so much for subscribing!
I love your videos! For forward planning I keep a 6 month week on 2 pages in my notebook. There's enough space for writing in forward appointments and notes. :-)
It's so cool to see all the planners that you were using before One Book July and to now see your "slimmed down" setup. Thank you so much for sharing that! :) The Field Notes size is so awesome because you can take it with you wherever you go, I cannot wait to hear how you are liking this One Book July setup!
Great video, Mits! I'm using the same planner. I use a monthly insert for future planning and then use another notebook for my daily bullet journalling - this way I only swap out the daily's notebook when I run out of pages but my future plans stay in place. :)
Love your videos, Mits! I have had issues with the bullet journal system bc of forward planning. I wish I could commit to it, but I just use monthly insert, jot the appointment, and then I use a daily insert (2 months at a time) and can go to that day to write in all the details. I use FrassizleMade daily inserts from Etsy. Good luck!
Love your setup!!! Wish I could use this size, but my writing is just way too big... LOL Oh, and for forward planning in my BuJo, I have a separate month on two pages insert that I use for upcoming things. I write it in the calendar or on a sticky note on the calendar month, and then I check the monthly insert daily or weekly as I plan the upcoming weeks. HTH :-)
For the bujo it's really easy to forward plan- when you need to put an appointment for whatever month ahead, go to the next blank page, writhe this month's name on top, and put the appointment's date, and the appointment. Put the number of this page to the index. Then repeat with every appointment after that. If you like dates in order on the page, then do the traditional bujo style vertical month setup for the months ahead, and put it all into your index. It's easy.
When I forward plan, I divide a page (or a couple pages if my bullet journal is smaller) into equally sized boxes. I write the name of each month in a separate box. I write any appointments or events in the corresponding month's box. I don't put them in order. I just make a list as I find out about each thing. When I get to that month in my planning, I add a monthly events page prior to my weeklies and move everything from my forward planning to that page. At that point, I write them in order. I hope this helps. If you have a lot going on, you might even use a half or a whole page for each month of forward planning.
I hear ya Mits on the no spend thing!!! Something must be in the air!!!! For forward planning I saw a video on some popular bullet journal channel (which I forget but I'll find for you!) she writes our her bullet journal too. I'm doing the same this month! For the same reason as you! Ha! Anyway, she had a section under her todos for "Coming Up". Could be the next week or a few weeks. At least you will have written it down. I always worry about post its falling off! Love your new TN! I'm getting one tomorrow!!! 🙀
For forward planning I decide two pages (a spread) in 6 box and i List there future events and appointments. I don't use a grid stile montly per month I use a chart. In this way I can keep track of recurrent events and se them at a Glance.
Hey I ran into this problem recently as well I decided to print out a weekly insert from diy fish( week on 2 pages) and have it right behind my bullet journal insert and it has been perfect! I only keep about a month or 2 at a time so it's very thin but is great for items I want on a specific day in the upcoming weeks then when I do my daily spread I transfer it over :)
Hi Mits, I use the note page print out from mylifeallinoneplaces n do the tip in at my monthly booklet. Just like the way you tip in in your daily page to do forward plan.
My forward planning consists of a week to-do type bujo, I use one a6 page for each week and I also have a monthly insert that I'll write stuff into so I can see what shifts, events, bills, birthdays, etc I have coming up and can add those easily to my weekly spreads! It keeps it nice and easy for me, as I found using a planner with each day just was too much
Mits, I've sent you two photos of my set up for habit tracker (I use a photo so that I can write on it) and for forward planning. I use whichever notebook I'm using, because although I use a variety of inserts and TNs my system doesn't change.
Love this setup! As far as forward planning in a small planner, I use the Field Notes size Horizontal Month on Two Pages from Marsia Bramucci on Etsy... It's one line per day across two pages in a very thin booklet. :)
This is so pretty. But I wouldn't consider listing birthdays so much as future planning as keeping a perpetual calendar. The idea is the same, though, to create a collection and index it.
Love your setup :) have you watched Ali Brown's bullet journaling video? She tips in a monthly calendar. That could be an option? Good luck this month!! Thanks for sharing!
Mits, sorry your feet are swelling so much. Hope you can find time each day to lay down and prop them up (higher than your heart) to reduce swelling. For forward planning, I would use your task list that you taped on the left-hand side of your page. Just leave a little space at the bottom and write "Upcoming" to separate it from the might-do task list you already have. That way you are utilizing that entire page extension and not adding any more bulk to that booklet. When you move into your next week of pages, you can jot those things down in their proper place.
Oooooo yes!! Have you mentioned this in your video before? I remember hearing about it...This is SO simple yet so effective!! Thank you so much for sharing :)
For future planning, how about creating two to four collection pages and divvy up future months among them. I use a spiral bound planner that has blank note pages, and I jot down appointments and events I'm interested in going to the next year on one of the pages--similar concept. For the bujo, as long as the collection is in the index, you can just pull that information when it's time to plan for the current month.
Maybe a laminated monthly or weekly that you can tip in at the back? You can write on it with a dry erase or wet erase marker. I personally use another weekly notebook.
Hello! It's a leuchtturm1917 jottbook in pocket size I believe :) I received mine from a stationery box, but you can purchase them from amazon :) Thanks for watching!
P.s.: I just got the idea to stamp, then photocopy it on (coloured) paper of your choice and by this be able to adjust the size by zooming up and down on the copier... maybe this helps?
I really like the idea of photocopying the stamp so you can use it multiple times and you don't have to bust out your ink pads. I could always keep several extra copies in the TN and plan on the go too! Awesome suggestion!! xoxo
As I was watching I was thinking that you seem to have a system that works for you. I wondered if you don't like the waste of writing ahead only to find you now have this gap to fill because you over estimated the space you'd need. So for future planning maybe use a different color sticky note and keep what you currently have on the one's your using now.
Hi Mits! It's funny you asked about forward planning because I just randomly decided to start doing it the other day! I am using this monthly A5 insert from Muji that I got back in April. I wasn't sure at the time what I would use it for, but I liked it because it is all kraft paper and it is half monthly, half dot-grid pages. I think it's got 14 undated months in there, but I only filled out this September-December in case I wanted to change how I do things. I like it so far. :)
I just reviewed the bullet journal on his website and there is a simple way to future plan.Check out Bullet Journal.com It' s a simple 2 page spread that you can do. With a smaller notebook I'd do 4 months flip page do next 4 months until I had a full year to jot info planning.
Great video! Are those water colors in your Field Notes book? I love the way it looks but dont understand how you could paint in it? Forgive me, Im new. =)
+Lilacs and Planning no need to apologize at all :) I just have a notebook in there so I can play with it when I feel the urge to create/paint. I usually take the insert out if I'm taking out the paints :) thanks for watching! :)
Hey Mits, did I get you right that you Need a month stamp? if yes, I saw one by Amy Tangerine, and I like her stamps, got a summer Sentiments one by her. Anyway, here's the link: www.amazon.com/American-Crafts-Please-Stamp-Lovely/dp/B00B9G6R1A xxx Nic

I sent them through Google+
Thank you~! I'm not familiar with Google+, I'll take a look, thank you so much!!

+Rey Walker aha... I guess I misunderstood the question about forward planning! Indeed it is beautiful for a year at a glance...
Thank you for the links! Someone else posted the same stamp and it's perfect for the habit tracking :)) Thank you for sharing!
NP :-)
Love your setup :) have you watched Ali Brown's bullet journaling video? She tips in a monthly calendar. That could be an option? Good luck this month!! Thanks for sharing!
You can just buy a perforation cutter to prep the notebooks. It'll work on any notebooks. =)
Ooooo what an awesome idea, thanks for sharing!

I like the numbered notebook that has the perforated pages in the back 👍. Let us know where can we purchase it. Have a great weekend 🎉

+MyLifeMits Thank you! I just ordered one from Goulet Pens and can't wait to try it on the foxy fix pocket size TN. Have a good week 🎉.
Do a weekly on one page then your bullet journal.

You can try the Dutch door?
I must admit, I had to google this since I've never heard this before..pretty interesting, thank you for sharing!!

Thanks for sharing - I should take a look at Muji, I love their simple notebooks :)
Hi Mits! I've been trying to decide on a Travelers notebook passport size and the passport size. Do you have both?
I just reviewed the bullet journal on his website and there is a simple way to future plan.Check out Bullet Journal.com It' s a simple 2 page spread that you can do. With a smaller notebook I'd do 4 months flip page do next 4 months until I had a full year to jot info planning.
Hi, wondering where did you get that clear stamp block with the tiny letters to stamp out words as oppose to carrying the big roller stamp?
Great video! Are those water colors in your Field Notes book? I love the way it looks but dont understand how you could paint in it? Forgive me, Im new. =)
+Lilacs and Planning no need to apologize at all :) I just have a notebook in there so I can play with it when I feel the urge to create/paint. I usually take the insert out if I'm taking out the paints :) thanks for watching! :)
