I just changed the thermal paste on my 6650 xt eagle with Thermalright TFX, and used good thermal pads (as mine also ripped when taking off the cooler). DO NOT DO THIS IF YOU ARE NOT HAVING PROBLEMS. Even with good thermal pads I saw an increase of 8 Celsius to the GPU memory junction temperature.
Im planning for building my pc with this paticular rx 6650 xt. Your video is very helpful in helping me decide whether I should get this one or look for another one from other brand...thank you
is this the same heatsync on the 6700xt eagle? I put one in the mini itx build for my wifes living room/couch gaming pc. But running games like Hogwarts and Atomic heart they MFer is loud as hell. I have it in a Silverstone Raven v2 case so the GPU basically sits in front of a vent to the outside and can draw in fresh air from left side of case. But I don't think the piddly lil fans pull much air in, so I am thinking of deshrouding and maybe have a custom brackey/shroud duct/made to partition the fan intake purely to the side grille.
Not sure if the heatsink is the same but I'm pretty sure the fans are, and yes they are shit. Not sure if this would work, but if you can create negative pressure in your case it will help the gpu fans get more fresh air.
Very informative video and well made! One question: if I need to clean thoroughly the fans, is there a way to remove only the top cover without removing the back plastic cover? To avoid repasting the heatsink basically
No, to remove the top cover the heatsink needs to come off. You can unscrew the fans without removing the heatsink which will give you a little more room to clean but not much more.
@@jeffho1727 awesome upgrade from a 1660 super card. I also like it's fan stop feature. This card should last me till the rx 10000 series comes out lol
@HardwareForGamers hmm I see, I got this card recently for a build to sell and beginning to realise how bad it is with temps. Card needs too run at 2300rpm to keep hotspot at 80c and that's undervolted 70mv as well. Unless I got a bad unit.
@@HardwareForGamers That's what the main sensor says, Hotspot goes like 95. Kinda disappointing since I run it in a mesh case, and it's not even summer yet. My old 970 did the same temps but it was a blower card.

Thanks for sharing the info mate.
Nice Analysis!
Thank you, Plus thank you for becoming a patron.

@@HardwareForGamers thanks for the quick response! Will do as you suggested
Very informative video man! could you also do a rx 6650 xt gigabyte gaming oc review and teardown? its on sale at newegg for only $289.99!
Just got one for 360Can. Still in transit. Hopefully turns out well.

Can you do a Rx 6600 eagle.
Hi, what's the name of the good thermal pads you're using?
Thermalright Odyssey thermal pads
thermal pad size?
Is there anyway of getting the measurements for the gpu. Like on the heat sink where the screws are
Should I get this version or the MSI Radeon RX 6650 XT MECH 2X OC for £10 more?
I don't think there is too much of a difference between them, maybe a small noise level difference, so I would go with the cheaper one. But that's me
I have Gigabyte eagle Rx 6600xt. Is this the same thickness of thermal pads?
sorry I mine not sure if they're the same.
Do you think this teardown would be the same as the 6750xt?
Sorry, I have no idea.
if I teardown my Gigabyte 6650XT will it void my warranty?
That depends on where you live.
does the gigabyte 6600 xt eagle model have the same thermal pad size?
Sorry, I have no idea.
2950rpm on this card is so loud, are you sure you ment 2950 or 1950?
they were running at 2950 RPM , 40 dBA is objectively loud yes...

@HardwareForGamers yeah, that's not bad. I guess the issue was, my delta is 40c all the time
@@duca1991 that is pretty bad... Wow 40c delta... wow
any recomendation for undervolting ?
I only have a -45mv undervolt on mine (which help the HOT SPOT drop 4C)

@@HardwareForGamers how many watts it drops ? and how many mhz clockyou set in gpu clock ? ( upper is real my second acc )
I only have a +20 on the gpu clock the the TGP is around 7-8 watts lower.
@@HardwareForGamers thanks
Yeah... this is kinda a bad model I have the 6600XT version of this and it gets to 74c
74c for the edge temperature?

People who know tech know to stay away from gigabyte cards which are crap. Xfx makes the best AMD cards.
is there any coil whine on this gigabyte?
Sometimes when the fps goes up to 3000-4000 fps in loading screens, but other than that I don't hear any (on mine)
