Something about steep just felt better than the snow gear in riders republic, it's much more rigid in RR, it makes sense for the bikes and everything else but not the snow gear. I hope we get an update to smooth it out
I just realised why Steep was so peaceful and good to watch - it's smoother, character further from camera and slower rotations. I might try to get this in RR - using green gear - increasing FOV at max - disabling motion blur and using Steep semi-auto landing !
There is something special in that game, it feels different. It's trying to be realistic like Forza in racing games, I was expecting something similar from Riders's Republic, logical continuation, you know... The World in Steep is amazing and big, there should be more content, more season. Feels like they just gave up this game. I still play Steep but it feels empty, the online on PlayStation is dead...
I think my main issue with the winter sports in riders republic is there's just not enough space to enjoy them. Because the map has been divided into separate chunks to cater towards different sports, there's less space for winter sports overall. It's harder to find huge lines and routes in RR purely because the mountains are tiny in comparison to STEEP
I really enjoy riders republic since its lauch. That said, I love steep's approach to winter sport feelings and spent many hours appreciating the beauty of this game ☺️ Steep's realism + Riders Republic's customization and diversity would be the perfect game.
Flips an Spins in RR are wayyyy to fast in my opinion, steep feels more buttery and steezy especially with the ability to do tweaked grabs and butters. But ofc RR has mtb so I like both but for different reasons
Steep was a beautiful game, from the music, maps, terrain and sound design. Cruising Creamy Lines in Alaska while the sunsets was simply an experience. Riders republic is fun but not the same. Having someone scream by you on a fluorescent pink jet back while "Black and Yellow" is getting blasted is just not the vibe.
Steep is a game that will always have a very special place in my heart. I play Riders Republic but often find myself returning to steep for the feels of it 🤙🏽
Steep is still undoubtedly the King when it comes to downhill winter sports. The ability to build your own lines across the mountains is limitless fun. To this day I can get on and run a all score run or any of the other modes and have fun every single time.
@@lulunomu in landing there are different options, one of them is called STEEP, you put it and now only need to stop moving the controler to land correcly, your avatar would land without your help. You won't have landing bonifications, but it's so usefull to land correcly in most of the jumps.
@@jovamana I know that, I wouldn't call that a manual landing though. I thought it would be like controlling the rotation to land on your feet instead of the game doing it for you. I know you can do really slow flips and you can kinda time it, but those you have to be super gentle.
The fastness of the tricks are what makes the game fun and exciting and the game is not supposed to be realistic so if you go into the game with the mindset that it’s an arcade game I think the enjoyment factor go’s up
It's like Forza Motorsport vs Forza Horizon. I've seen people complain that the driving in Horizon isn't realistic enough of whatever. It's not meant to be, it's meant to be an easy to learn, hard to master, fun kind of feel rather than a serious sim. I know irl Shelby Cobras can't do crazy drifts but it's fun as hell
I prefer the landings in RR. It does feel like you're landing and not still floating somehow. The floatiness is the one thing they fixed compared to Steep but in exchange they took away everything else.
Steep is the closest thing to Amped that's came out since, RR is fun, but Snowboarding and skiing are far better and more realistic in Steep. Really hoping that Shredders is everything we want in a snowboard/ski game

I personally Miss arcade style games like thps to SSX so riders Republic is a breath of fresh air to me I couldn't get a hold of all the controls n steep and it all felt like a bit too much to take on when I just wanted to do awesome tricks and hang out with my friends.

I was decent at steep before riders but I completely lost the feeling for flips and stuff, I’m now complete trash at steep because the controls are inverted, like jumping and stuff so now I can’t play steep because I’m so bad and it gets boring.
I think steep could’ve easily been the greatest winter game if they could have made the snowboarding skis carve corners a little more rather than kind of having that weird Pivot feel. To me that’s the only spot that steep came up short. It’s strange that a game like SSX actually had better cornering and snowboard carving controls in any of the new modern games. Really wish they would fix and make it so you carve corners not pivot. The difference between Forza and the grid same thing
I think Riders Republic over time as it gets new seasons, content and sports, will becomes the game STEEP is right now. STEEP shared some of the same issues as RR does at launch (no unlimited helicopter tickets, lack of content, no director mode, etc) but over the years STEEP fixed all of these issues and I believe RR will end up the same as well. Only time will tell but I'm sure it'll come around like STEEP did.
Ill be happy when people realize steep format is based on snow and alaska of course it has to be better RR covers all sports it takes time to match the fans liking but my opinion i thinks its by far better then steep, the map and access of online players in one lobby is insane and satisfying. I like seeing others roaming around not just me in an open world
Steeps winter sports are good, but I much rather play riders republic, in RR you a wider variety of sports to play, and the graphics are so much better and the map fits, with that said I still love both

Steep was perfect before that update they made to meet licensing issues for Winter X / Olympics. It became a little too arcadey then. For some reason, this required an actual change to the physics engine? I don't know. Wish I could download that version.
I like both games but love Steep. RR aint bad but trying to put too many stuff makes some xtreme sports feel off. Snow sports for example, not bad but I feel because Steep exists they didnt care in RR. I feel RR should have been only dirt sport or only focused on different type of bikes so they focus more on that and make it better controls and a map. Just an opinion
I really dislike how the snow in RR looks and feels. Like it's perpetual spring and it's the real sticky kind of snow. And all the plants growing out of it just sets me off. Like there's no point on the map where it's full on winter type snow and you get powder (Ok so I know there are mountains with powder all year round but you get what I mean)

RR is limited so much by its trick system, the fact that rodeos are only landable only every 540 degrees and that you virtually cant do double corks feels so limiting. Yes you have more control over the spins you do and it's easier to do a certain trick, but that takes awat freedom. That's why I prefer Steep.

Steep is real until you take a 700ft cliff, land on your neck, and have the only damage be some scratched lenses.
RR’s customization is actually kind of terrible. There’s so much more they could do other the rotate the five same daily shop items everyweek.
