  • Here is part one of a two part video featuring the Bryston 3b cubed amplifier paired with the Egglestonworks Oso Loudspeakers! I’ll take you through my findings in multiple criticism listening sessions, why I choose the test albums I do, and my recommendations and findings. Make sure to tune in for part two coming in soon!

    Special thanks to Sunny Components in Covina, CA for lending me his personal Bryston 3b cubed while my 2.5b was on the road. **Not sponsored by Sunny Components - just a special thank you to a friend who kindly loaned me a personal component to make the video (but one heck of a high end audio dealer so please go check him out at Sunnyaudiovideo.com)!

    I love seeing a highly skilled, amazingly talented musician who uses her spirit in making music vouch for music reproduction done with care, attention to detail using products that make a difference in her own hobby and enhancing this by bringing her system to the next level. Progress starts slowly like everything else. You are a breath of fresh air to our community. Rock on sister and congratulations.

    Bryston makes very good stuff. I hadn't thought about using live recordings for auditions but thats a very good idea! I enjoy a Live Police CD I have. And yes, cables matter! Keep up the good work!

      Bryston is lovely for sure. Yes to live recordings! It can take your listening experience (critical or otherwise) to new heights when really delving into your system. Thank you so much for your comment! ☺️

    Thats a lovely f**king setup you have there! Never even heard of Eggleston either! With the Bryston powering those, they probly hit hard enough that youve never had to consider a sub and likely never will. A cutie who can play music and knows her gear, its just so very rare. Most musicians in general, guy or gal, arent exactly audiophiles. You get a subscribe!

    Have you had a chance to use the new br20?? I am in the market for a pre amp to go with my Bryston power amp. I also have the 2.5b.

    I was a studio owner and engineer. I know a lot of studio owners and engineers. They believe in good quality cable and connectors (Belden, Mogami, Switchcraft) .. mostly for reliability and durability. I know no professional engineer that believes 'cables matter' as far as sound quality.

      Thanks for sharing your experience. I’d love to know what studio you owned - if it’s one I’m familiar with. Even if not, that’s cool. Glad to know a different perspective. In the studios I’ve worked in, and currently the one I own, we do believe cables matter (as well as connectors). Glad you weighed in!

    Your speakers are beautiful. Where are they made? I haven’t heard anything about Eggleston in many years. The side firing woofer reminds me of the old Definitive Technology speakers, but they were big boring monoliths.

      @Stefan - thank you so much! Yes, the side firing woofers were popular a while ago - it’s nice to have them on the Oso’s. These speakers were made by hand in Nashville! ☺️

    Why not go for the 4B3?

    • @tms372
      @tms372 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The newest 3B and 4B sound identical, even my dealer agreed. The 3B is less money, is lighter and still puts out 200W at 8 ohm.

    That is not critical listening. That is subjective listening, in uncontrolled settings, without any protocol.

    • @emikomusic
      @emikomusic  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      There are a few different types of critical listening, actually. What I engaged in for this was just one form of it.

    • @michaelchase1911
      @michaelchase1911 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      All listening is subjective, critical listening is a term describing the focus of the listener. Causal listening is in the background while you are doing other things.
