thats so interesting this is a trilogy, and it makes sense how flowerboy wouldnt be involved since theres no alter ego involved. I’m wondering where cherry bomb fits tho in context to being in between these trilogy’s since it also had an alter ego🧐.
The personas are as follows: Ace the Bastard, Tron Cat the Goblin, Doctor TC (Tyler's Conscious), Wolf Haley The Good and Samuel the Bad, the explosive Chur Bum, the Scum Fuck Flowerboy, Igor the hopeless, Sir Tyler Borderlaire, and finally St. Chroma.
@@Poop-kg8rjyeah cardi b gets hated on SO much because she takes her time making her music and if she doesn't feel it's good enough it's NOT gonna be posted. But Tyler is on a whole different level with this because it's a true story playing out just not with the exact same interactions and is a TINY TINY bit more wild and obsessive then it actually would be but then again for someone out there it is exactly as it went for them. It's not just a personal story but a story he knew anyone could relate to for hundreds of different reasons but also dosnt make it in your face obvious that he's telling you a story.
This is great. Only think I would add is that Flower Boy is a part of the series. On Flower Boy he officially comes out and begins the journey of honesty within himself. Interesting thing too is that he starts of the song Garden Shed with someone calling into a radio show. The voice that request the song about themselves sounds like IGOR.
On sorry not sorry he killed all of his alter egos, a few days ago he actually said chromakopia was the first album where everything he talked about was real things that happened so maybe thats connected
I have listened to his album a couple of times now, and each song is perfect in its own way. It is easier to listen to than some of his other work. I really love his style and the story he tells hits really hard. I can't wait to potentially see him live.
@DyNaBeAr06 idk man, It bops and goes pretty hard. I had assumptions and was initially skeptical about the feature, but honestly, Tyler knew what he was doing when he picked her. I wouldn't normally listen to another sexy redd song, but she blends in well with the craziness of this track
Another thing that isn't as big as your points is that in the music video of Thought I Was Dead, the St. Chroma uniform has a pink tie, which could be me grasping a straw, but I see as Igor Tyler putting the mask of Saint Chroma on to hide the pain of heartache.
The Igor coloured tie is just part of the overall uniform. I actually do think the tie represents Igor in someway but I’m too lazy to look more into it.
@ nah that’s literally what I thought of too lol, he doesn’t get a verse either and the background vocals go on after he supposedly dies. I still don’t know what to think about the possibility of the 3 albums being a trilogy, that’s actually a pretty cool idea and I’m excited for people to look into it.
In the end of I Hope You Find Your Way Home (the last song on Chromakopia) the chord from the beginning of IGOR is played but it resolves into a different, ominous chord and then the album ends. I guess you could say that Tyler has come full circle with himself and kind of gone through a journey of self discovery and healing, but because of this strange chord at the end, I think there's more. Something deeper that we don't understand yet. This album is definitely not the end.
Same thing Mac Miller did with Circles. If you loop the album, the chords at the end of the last song transition into the chords at the beginning of the first song. Hence, Circles.

Something I noticed personally between Igor and Chromakopia is on Igor the story is about Tyler revolving his whole world and mood around one person whereas on Chromakopia Tyler talks about his problems with not being able to settle down and cant find love with one person, thats just something I noticed tho
There was a chord I heard him use on Like Him that felt eerily reminiscent of Bastard. But from a whole new perspective. If you want, that might've been the moment Tyler rounded the circle on his discography.
The bass at the end of I Hope You Find Your Way Home makes an transition into IGOR’S THEME that sounds somewhat intentional. This seems to fit with your idea of the Hero’s Journey occurring across the 3 albums.
I love being able to watch artists that I've grown up beside listening to all of their albums as they come out and getting to chromakopia a beautifully twisted album that digs so deep within, it's beautiful.

To add to your theory, I could see “Flower Boy” making Tyler’s series a tetralogy instead of a trilogy. That album starts at a new chapter/beginning (“Forward”) most notably with “Garden Shed” in the middle, ending with “Enjoy Right Now” before “Glitter” where Tyler pursues a crush … this all could lead right into the events of Igor. 🤔

You can buy happiness, but you can’t buy wings” ,followed by “I just wanna fly,” and “I just wanna find my wings”… God I love Tyler’s work so much 😭
its nice and wholesome that he brought his mom to narrating this part of his story. new one after struggles and more before getting to a point to embrace himself.
_Chromakopia_ has been out for a while now, and as a fan of Tyler's music I normally would've already listen to it 10 times already. But about this album felt different to me. So I waited until I felt the time was right. Today is Dec. 2nd (my birthday) and I listened to the album, and I thought _CMIGLY_ was my favorite, and it still is. But this album resonated with me on a personal in a way that's almost uncanny. I recently let go of some toxic relationships (friends) that I knew were no good , but I tried to make work anyway. In an effort to make the friendships work I ended up becoming a version of my self that wasn't me. And I've been learning some hard life lessons, and those lessons have lead me on a path of healing and knowledge of Self. And through those things gain inner peace. Just yesterday since it I was having a conversation about life with my Mom, and my journey thus far. And after I told my Mom everything I needed to say, she said the most beautiful thing: she understood. There are things with my biological father that I thought I accepted, but I hadn't. Not until now. This album of Tyler's is for sure my new favorite.
An aesthetic theory I have and don’t hold me on this it may be a stretch but who knows but I feel like this is a whole callback to the old horror movie eyes without a face where a girl is wearing a face mask of her face to hide her underneath as she undergone surgery (this is what I remember so if I got it wrong I apologize) and Tyler has the same type of look and mask so I think Tyler is showing how he has to surgically remove himself for others and now he’s wearing this mask that shows his face to hide how he feels deep inside as his feelings have been tormented until later he gets the realization and inner light to remove the mask and show himself with a beautiful face again and also the music videos are shot in this gritty old silent horror movie film aesthetic a bit (mostly noid to possibly show the horrors of paranoia) but this was my theory
Tomorrow is also a parallel or relation to Boredom on Flower Boy and Running out of time Igor. One of his continual messages to us and himself to be aware of and use your time wisely and with love.
Btw, Judge Judy is also about him hooking up with a woman who had cancer and died of cancer only a year later, leaving him alone again and hinting that there’s more albums to expect in the future. (Edit) I’m thinking that in the next album that we get (if there is one) its about this “character” settling down and finally getting a family, finding what’s missing.
Chasing The PooKa From Big Thumpers to Carrot Colored Buses, In Celtic folklore, a pooka (*púca* in Irish) is one of the most enigmatic and mischievous spirits, known to appear in dark, wild, and rugged landscapes. This nature spirit, often described as a dark horse with blazing eyes, finds an interesting parallel in modern symbolism, such as the LaFerrari emblem featured in the music video for Noid by Tyler, The Creator. The Pooka can take on countless forms, from a goat, wolf, rabbit, goblin, or even a human with animalistic features. The pooka's personality and purpose vary, as some tales depict it as a benevolent helper to farmers, while others show it as a trickster, luring travelers into wild rides or causing havoc in villages. Its unpredictable nature is most active during Samhain (Halloween), when the boundary between the human world and the spirit world thins. This flexibility in form and intention resonates across cultures and media, from music to marketing and even astrology, with common themes of shape-shifting, mischief, and mystery woven throughout. Tyler, The Creator’s discography can be viewed as a modern reimagining of the pooka’s shifting identities and unpredictable spirit. In albums like *Bastard*, *Goblin*, *Wolf*, *Cherry Bomb*, *Flower Boy*, *Igor*, and *Call Me If You Get Lost*, Tyler crafts a landscape of characters who embody contrasting personas and explore complex emotional realms. Much like the pooka, who oscillates between helpful and malevolent roles, Tyler's characters shift between humor and darkness, anger and vulnerability, all while captivating audiences with their multifaceted identities. His 2024 project, *Chromakopia*, further amplifies this mystique, arriving amid speculation and aligning with the unpredictable, shape-shifting nature often attributed to the pooka. Tyler’s decision to embody these characters parallels the pooka’s ability to morph between benevolence and trouble, drawing listeners into worlds where identity and intention are never straightforward. Adding yet another layer, Tyler’s Chinese zodiac sign, the Metal Goat, reinforces these themes. The Goat is known for its artistic, resilient, and charming characteristics, and it holds the eighth position in the Chinese zodiac, a number associated with balance, comfort, and prosperity. Individuals born under the Metal Goat sign are known for their creativity, artistic inclinations, and magnetic personalities, which mirror Tyler’s own style and impact. In many ways, Tyler’s approach to music is pooka-like, capturing a balance between order and chaos, mischief and meaning, while transforming his artistry into a landscape where nothing is as it seems. Tyler is a Pisces, a sign deeply connected to Greek mythology. The symbol of Pisces draws from the story of Aphrodite (Venus) and her son Eros (Cupid), who transformed into fish to escape the monstrous serpent Typhon. Representing the twelfth sign of the zodiac, Pisces embodies the culmination of all previous signs, making it highly intuitive, emotional, and connected to the spiritual realm. The symbol of Pisces, two crescent moons joined by a line, reflects the Pisces’ duality, its bond with both the earthly and mystical, capturing a journey between spiritual enlightenment and everyday challenges. Pisces is also Ruled by Neptune, the planet of dreams, illusion, and intuition, Shout out to Pharrell. Pisces’ journey for balance between dual realms aligns with the Celtic pooka’s role as a boundary-crossing entity, as well as Tyler’s musical themes of introspection and inner conflict. Pisces individuals, much like Tyler’s own personas, tend to exist in spaces that bridge the familiar and the mystical, the grounded and the surreal. Tyler’s Piscean traits are evident in his work, which explores these realms, bringing out hidden emotions and emphasizing empathy, chaos, and compassion. Exploring the connections between folklore, Norse mythology, and Tyler, The Creator’s artistry reveals an underlying resonance. The name “Inglewood” itself is thought to derive from “wood of the Ing,” a reference to the Norse god Ing, or Yngvi-Freyr often simply called Freyr. Which translates as “Lord,” is a Norse god associated with agriculture, fertility, and, interestingly, the horse cult. His mythological narrative closely aligns with themes Tyler explores in Chromakopia, especially through Freyr's connection to power, creation, and even eroticism. In Norse myth, Freyr is famously represented by a prominent phallic statue in the Temple at Uppsala, an image that parallels some of the raw, provocative themes Tyler addresses in Chromakopia. Freyr’s myth also involves a significant act of sacrifice, a giving-up of his sword to marry his beloved, which highlights themes of desire, vulnerability, and the balance of power. Freyr’s boar, Gullinbursti, whose glowing mane illuminates his path, also symbolizes the clarity and illumination gained through self-sacrifice-a quality Tyler often infuses into his layered personas across albums like Goblin, Wolf, Igor, and Call Me If You Get Lost. This mythological context gives new depth to Tyler’s symbolic choices and characters, who often traverse similar arcs of inner conflict, transformation, and self-revelation. Through each lens, be it folklore, astrology, or branding, these icons illuminate the human experience of engaging with the unknown and finding meaning within life’s contrasting forces. Across cultures themes of shape-shifting, mischief, and mystery reveal a deep, universal fascination with duality and transformation. Figures like the pooka, the Freyr, and modern symbols such as the LaFerrari horse and the Noid, embody a primal energy that speaks to humanity's ongoing dance with the unknown. Tyler, The Creator’s work channels this ancient archetype into a contemporary context, Whether in myth or media, these symbols remind us of the powerful allure and timeless intrigue of mystery, reflecting our collective desire to bridge the realms of imagination and reality.
The “reference” to the kid in CMIYGL was not at all connected to this and more of a throwback to a really old video of him and Clancy’s daughter where he made a joke about her being his. I see where you might get confused if you didn’t follow early internet odd future that closely.
If you look up what chromakopia means it means plentiful horns which might mean that this shows the devilish side of Tyler and st means saint which involves priests which might show that towards the start Tyler believed the devilish side of him might help but his mom guides him back to the light or the angelic side of him which would represent the light vs dark relationship (side note i looked this up a couple weeks ago the meaning was different but somehow it still works
"Igor is meant to be looped infinitely as a sort of “never ending” love story Today my girlfriend and I were listening to the second part of the recent Dissect podcast episode about Igor and Cole Kushna mentioned how he noticed that the ending of “are we still friends?” ends with the same bass synth (Moog?) as the beginning of Igors theme just a bit more subdued. This got us thinkin about the possibility that the album was intentionally written to be perceived as an infinitely looping love story. We decided to play the album from the beginning and see if anything would clue into a “continued” story or idea that its not necessarily the beginning but a song following “can we still be friends?” The first couple things we noticed (which may be stretches) was how “ridin round town they gon’ feel this one” could be interpreted as two ex/old lovers hanging out and the idea that maybe they’ll hit it off again, and how the repeated/atmospheric “runnin” could be directly tied to this infinite loop or forever running narrative. Even “got my eyes open” could be Tyler tryin to say that hes seeing clearly after the last run with this person and won’t be “played” this time etc.. I realize that some of these ideas from Igors Theme do seem like a stretch as I said but what really made me start to feel that it all may be intentional was the beginning of Earfquake which opens with “for real this time” as though the cycle of falling into/out of love with this other person was starting all over again. Most people who’ve been in the infant stages of love (especially I’d imagine with some sort of forbidden or unrequited love) realize that it can very much be a rollercoaster with high highs and low lows in repeating succession. I really feel this theory might have some legs to it and I’m sure there are more interpretations that could lean in this direction, just thought it was interesting and wanted to see what everyone else thought about this, intentional or nah?" - U/Ittheblkshpp

in chromakopia he seems to try to get into his father persona. hes wearing a green outfit that resembles Nigeria colors, the country of his father which he never met.
There was a song that I heard on Tyler’s album “chromakopia” and at the end it was like I’m paranoid, it was continuously saying other words then paranoid , then the song noid pops up and it was connected.😢❤
When I was listening to Chromakopia, I was thinking about it and realized that there could possibly be a connection, glad I'm not the only one who noticed this.

Great video! Why “tofu media” though?
I wish I had a good answer for this. We just liked the word lol
Key point you missed is the song "noid"
Which can be looked at as "no id", meaning no identity.
This album of Tyler's is for sure my new favorite.
this storyline is awesome! i wanna see more of it down the line for sure
Another classic tofu
If nobody got me, I know Whodnl got me
wow this video is insanely good and majesticly edited
Are we still Friends doesnt end the relationship between them it creates a Perfect Musical Loop
word for word quoting dissect podcast 😂
You Described it pretty well , This album was really different and NICEEEEE
Tomorrow is also a parallel or relation to Boredom on Flower Boy and Running out of time Igor. One of his continual messages to us and himself to be aware of and use your time wisely and with love.
Btw, Judge Judy is also about him hooking up with a woman who had cancer and died of cancer only a year later, leaving him alone again and hinting that there’s more albums to expect in the future.
(Edit)
I’m thinking that in the next album that we get (if there is one) its about this “character” settling down and finally getting a family, finding what’s missing.
On st chromas song they said “ima make it out” meaning after blowing up the chromakopia crate their either gonna enter the igor cycle or escape it
I’m glad I’m not the only one who feels the sway I was going to make a video on this myself
Tyler snapped, so many fusion elements between all his albums all come together for this one.
CAN U FEEL THE LIGHT, INSIDE, CAN U FEEL THE FIRE, (can u feel it?) FIREEEE. (fireeaaa) FIREEEE
The fact that you can make lore out of 3 minutes is insane
So much of this kind of stuff goes over my head all the time. 😅 Great video!
Chasing The PooKa
From Big Thumpers to Carrot Colored Buses, In Celtic folklore, a pooka (*púca* in Irish) is one of the most enigmatic and mischievous spirits, known to appear in dark, wild, and rugged landscapes.
Wow i really like your take on this
Amazing comment. W!
Please do one for Ye/Kanye and Kendrick coz I know they're probably on this type of time as well.
The “reference” to the kid in CMIYGL was not at all connected to this and more of a throwback to a really old video of him and Clancy’s daughter where he made a joke about her being his. I see where you might get confused if you didn’t follow early internet odd future that closely.
Thank you lol! Esmeralda lmao😂
She cant talk she got deported from mexico
I THINK YOU'RE TOTALLY ON POINT & GIVE US THE BEST INTERPRETATION OF TYLER'S MUSIC.. .🕯️☮️🕊️🎧🏴
Tyler’s mom is a fuckin legend.
my goodness what's the song that starts at 5:13 and plays through the rest of the video?
Everybody’s Gotta Learn Sometime
8:30 also in his vinyl video chromakopia he has a Pink tie
If you look up what chromakopia means it means plentiful horns which might mean that this shows the devilish side of Tyler and st means saint which involves priests which might show that towards the start Tyler believed the devilish side of him might help but his mom guides him back to the light or the angelic side of him which would represent the light vs dark relationship (side note i looked this up a couple weeks ago the meaning was different but somehow it still works
My goat frrrr🐐
Guys, if you listen closely, the end of chromakopia fits nearly perfectly with the beginning of igor’s theme
no it doesn’t it’s two different cords
"Igor is meant to be looped infinitely as a sort of “never ending” love story
Today my girlfriend and I were listening to the second part of the recent Dissect podcast episode about Igor and Cole Kushna mentioned how he noticed that the ending of “are we still friends?” ends with the same bass synth (Moog?) as the beginning of Igors theme just a bit more subdued. This got us thinkin about the possibility that the album was intentionally written to be perceived as an infinitely looping love story. We decided to play the album from the beginning and see if anything would clue into a “continued” story or idea that its not necessarily the beginning but a song following “can we still be friends?”
The first couple things we noticed (which may be stretches) was how “ridin round town they gon’ feel this one” could be interpreted as two ex/old lovers hanging out and the idea that maybe they’ll hit it off again, and how the repeated/atmospheric “runnin” could be directly tied to this infinite loop or forever running narrative.
I really feel this theory might have some legs to it and I’m sure there are more interpretations that could lean in this direction, just thought it was interesting and wanted to see what everyone else thought about this, intentional or nah?"

I appreciate this breakdown, Thank you. ✌🏽
8:46 Dang this is honestly got me crying what i think of chromakopia is Tyler is now facing the long hard hurdles of life and his mom is guiding and encouraging him to not give up 😢
A HINT!!
IN THE SORRY NOT SORRY MUSIC VIDEO YOU SEE THE "MILITARY" LOOKING SUIT ALL THE WAY IN THE START!
Did you watch the entire video?
Literally mentioned in the video
@@TheSkyOwl i didnt wanna watch it
colors, man
3:53 there is st. Chroma on one of the necklaces
do the two guys at tofu media switch turns between editing, and narrating
We do! We upload every week, taking turns making videos- but we bounce stuff off each other as we go.
There’s also a bunch of samples from the previous (at least 2?) albums within this album, like some of the yells and adlibs.
in chromakopia he seems to try to get into his father persona. hes wearing a green outfit that resembles Nigeria colors, the country of his father which he never met.
this album will become an instant classic 🔥
There was a song that I heard on Tyler’s album “chromakopia” and at the end it was like I’m paranoid, it was continuously saying other words then paranoid , then the song noid pops up and it was connected.😢❤
At the end of 'I Hope You Find Your Way Home' there is a small part of synthwave signifying that it goes back to the start of IGOR
Wow- love this!
Idk if anyone realised his but there's no double song like in igor with gone gone/thank you and cmiygl with sweet /I thought you wanted to dance
When I was listening to Chromakopia, I was thinking about it and realized that there could possibly be a connection, glad I'm not the only one who noticed this.
In addition to this, the end riff in "I hope you find your way home," transitions into "Igor's Theme," just like "ARE WE STILL FRIENDS?"
