    All good except for using too much unnecessary grease.

      Perhaps true. None spilled out. I've seen folks put grease in a spot exactly between bearing surfaces and the bearings were dry as a bone. I probably tend towards too much rather than not enough.

    Dead Blow Hammer ? ( Rubber Mallet ? ). Thanks, Hard to find a video that finishes. TO ME THE END, ( BEARING TORQUE ) Was the most important part. Some people find the torque unimportant. Me, as an auditor for GM, I knew better than to use an impact wrench on lug nuts or anything torque sensitive. The 20 Ft lbs while back-spinning the rotor and 1/2 turn back off then, forward 1- 1 1/2 ft lbs was interesting. I took notes too. One thing I did not audit at GM. Ours were set with an electronic Torque device with red/green lights and a print-out of the results that were kept on file for 10 years. With todays mostly aluminum wheels, we need to re-torque after a few hundred miles to the 100 ft lbs after the original installation. My Ford dealer in Michigan Used an impact wrench which I firmly corrected. Thanx again. John, : j

      Thanks. I only just bought an inch pound torque wrench so I had to guess on it here. The bearings are fine. I'm not happy with the pad / disc combo that was recommended to me by the manufacturer, Cryo-stop.. but will leave the discs for the moment being and switch to a new set (long story). I just filmed several new episodes ( the first being replacing the headlight switch, the latest being airbag debug (very dangerous!) so they're coming up. More later!

      Oh, yeah, I use a dead blow hammer. I have a rubber mallet - it stays in the tool box.

    SOMEOBY asked about how to determine if its 2 wheel ABS or 4 wheel. THere is an aluminum block that has five connectors on it in the engine compartment on the right if it is four wheel abs. If there is a cast block with three hard-lines on it I believe that indicates three wheel ABS.

      You can tell on Ford Vans just by looking under the van. If it has 4W ABS each tire will have a sensor...As they use the same ABS control module on all of them. It's all controlled from the Module\PCM...2W drive uses the rear axle speed sensor. You can see it in the rear axle housing..

      @@WizzRacing Thanks for the info.. So.. only the REAR (axle? Not each wheel?) has a sensor for 2 wheel drive (which I have) but has FOUR ABS lines - is that right?

    I bought all the parts but they don’t fit on the spindle!!! Helppppp

    • @silasmarner7586
      @silasmarner7586 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      First of all did you bring the old parts in to match them? 2nd the engine and 2/4 wheel abs is crucial. But first you gotta bring your existing parts in and go from there. There's an inner and outer bearing on the spindle. Make sure THEY fit on the spindle first. I'm presuming the bearings and/or disc which fits over the spindle is the wrong diameter.....? I made this mistake several x but finally got it sorted by physically bringing in everything to the auto parts store. I don't recommend buying remotely i.e. online. These parts are literally available at every auto parts store out there.

      always triple check part numbers with ford and autopart stores price shopping places amazon and ebay

    Do you need to install the race

    • @macclad3
      @macclad3  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I believe the races for the inner and outer bearing are pre-installed on the disc when I bought it. When you buy the kit everything is there and I didn't need to use a press of any sort.

    • @macclad3
      @macclad3  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have no experience with this.. Why do you want to convert to 5 lugs?

    • @ronaldodeodono6004
      @ronaldodeodono6004 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Because the 15 inch rim wheel set I want to put in it I only think of 5 lugs
