Man I remember the first day of middle school, the day was jam packed and the 8th graders always scared me. There were two 6th grade hallways and I was confused between the two hallways so I skipped first period crying in the bathroom untill a administrator found me and helped me find my class.
I remember my 6th grade days. My campus had TWO buildings. One was called the East Wing, and the other the West Wing. I had THREE classes in the East Wing, so I had to get out of the West Building, and walk OUTDOORS to the East. It was especially a hassle when these things would happen: 1. Pre-Athletics: I took this class as my 4th period, and there were about 20 other girls in the class. We would all be running to get to the gym in the East Wing. I would come from the WEST WING, because my previous class was in a PORTABLE which was at the BACK of the school. 2. It rained: Every time we crossed the parking lot on a rainy day, we would have to run across if we didn’t have an umbrella. **We couldn’t really run across the parking lot though, because there was always this one crossing guard who yelled, “WALK IN THE PARKING LOT!” It was probably for safety reasons, but hey, tons of people ran and didn’t even get in trouble (I was one of those people). I might finish this another time, idk.

We were only assigned lockers for gym class and my god where those things hard to open, taking a few tries in getting the combination right! Somehow there was more drama during that school year than in high school.

But this year it was a new school and all the lockers had the dial locks pre installed (including gym lockers) and i had to figure out my locker combo which was pre made for me. I had so much trouble with it some random girl i guess saw me in the hallway and must have been like "hey look a freshmen bet u he's gonna struggle with his locker) so she helped me. Turns out to open my locker i have to stop turning the dial just short of the number I'm twisting to lol ( i hope this college essay was cohesive)
Now that you’ve done middle school. You should do high school now. All of the homework, an even bigger school, more complicated routes to classes, and anything else that was torture for high school.

At my school we started middle school in 5th grade. We picked up our schedule like a week before school started and we were allowed to visit where all the classes were on schedule pick up day. I memorized everything on the schedule: the room numbers, the teachers, the classes, and the period I had each class. I was way too prepared. Luckily the first day worked out perfectly.

Beside the fact that I don’t go in the other half of the building because I would get lost there! (First day dilemma) and oh yes…. The lockers and assembly. We had so many assembly’s and it was crazy and the lockers got packed when people would be running in every direction and people frantically running to their locker so they wouldn’t be late to the class. The AC. The AC was crazy because in my school the AC is freezing and the teachers keep it on ALL THE TIME.
this school year (i dont live in america so different stuff) many kids (also its my last and first year there since i joined the school at 8th grade) bought in advance a locker to store their stuff, the thing is it was hard af. my dad bought me a few years ago a small safe to store my money (its still in my room right beside me) it had the same thing but it was bound into the small door of the safe. the safe was easy so i thought helping the others would be easy aswell. but no, i tried helping like 3 kids in just a week and they gave me the code and i still couldnt open it. some even replaced the locks with their own ones. a few didnt even set a lock it was just open. a small amount of those who changed their lock placed the old ones on the small piece of metal which connects the railing to the wall and none of the staff actually did anything about it so it just stays there. that first week was BRUTAL since it was really hard finding friends.
I went to a private school that had all grades from preschool to 12th grade, so for me the transition from 5th to 6th grade was no different than any other grade transition

Overtime, I had very VERY bad depression and I was staying up late just trying to do assignments while I just wanted a break. I was having to keep myself from breaking down, and having to work myself all day and night, teaching myself, dealing with depression, not having anyone to talk to, doing online, it was hard for a 7th grader who had no one to talk to about it. My dumb 6th grade mind thought it would be rude to pass them on my bike, so I rode very slowly all the way to the school behind these 2 girls. And to be honest, I don't think they noticed me.
Ive just started 6th Grade and we had the entire Grade Tag and Tug of War with the whole school and each class had fun stations, but on Monday, Yeah that hit hard. This was super relatable.
