This Guy deserted the Legion after a year there is no loophole complete lie, no honor just a coward. He obviously didn't 'love' being there If he deserted and lied half the interview, textbook sociopath. I guess the Legion truly did rebuilt him.
Completely insecued. Was acting like a little girl when he though the cameras were not working. He doesn't know that the hardships is what makes the tough and hard man (mentally and physically).

The guy is telling stories about being in marseille only 1RE is there (ft aubagne) it's an administrative regiment.
But he's talking about them tryna desensitise him to killing.
Search anything to do with a french soldier being killed in Marseilles nothing comes up...
Also he's talking about patrolling the streets in 2015 when the charlie hebdo attacks happened.... you can go check the legions own webaite run by 1RE, they didn't partake in any domestic deployments that year.
However the 1RE are responsible for training new recruits... to me it seems like he was at 1RE for training and deserted before being stationed to a regiment.
Dudes an absolute cabinet, but what a weapon of a cabinet he is, the bloke loves doing what 99% of us would hate doing, SAS sounds like a hoot, send him off and do another interview in 24mths time when he gets bored of the same old same old of the SAS LOL

Great story. Basic training is designed to strip us of what the Army doesn't want, then build you up to what a Soldier is. I loved it. cheers

They obviously broke him. You don't get into the legion for money, you go private. You don't get 1 year either, so there's a lot of sadness there. Comparing the FFL to ISIS is not only insulting but a lack of recognition for the sacrifice they make and did to prevent ISIS in Africa, Afghanistan and everywhere it's needed.
Anyway, i got it, FFL is hardcore, it's not for everyone. Where was he assigned ? There's too many half truth there.
He deserted, while back i asked some actual leigonaires about the "loophole" and they said it was total bs

no because he joined the legion and then deserted. meaning he illegally escaped the legion by running away to spain and said he got some special 1 year contract which doesn't exist. He made a huge commitment and then read a self help book and then decided he wanted to quit, probably took the spot of some desperate person from the third world who would kill to get in legion and earn a half decent westerners salary
