Omg this is so true! I’d never even thought about this. In the past, I’d be out of a relationship for just a few months & a new narc would come in my life. Or I would be in an off & on cycle & would be off at the moment. I’ve been out of a relationship for a few years now & my boundaries & standards have changed so much through healing that I get turned off so fast. And thankfully, I can spot narcissistic tendencies more clearly now.

Rescuing rebounds ... AKA the person in scripture (Proverbs) who embraced a demon called Jezebel (female pronouns are used but we know this person comes in both genders): "She does not love God, she loves herself. She preys on weakness, using flattery and enticement to destroy a home for her own gain. The path to her is death." Narcissists love rebounds. They love fractured relationships. They love anything and everything that they can use to get close.
I always tell people that it's far easier to groom a married (or still, committed) person, rather than a single person. Why? Affairs are misery loves company. Always. The married person might initially believe this is just a friend. Nothing more. And as Dr. Rick Reynolds once stated, you can't affair proof any marriage, you can only affair proof yourself. You FAIL when you think you're opening up to a friend, but that friend is now using what you share to get closer to you. Think about it- a guy shares: "My wife & I used to go hiking a lot but since she was diagnosed with MS, she has resisted." Guess what! His new friend loves hiking! What a coincidence! (Not really). Or a woman is complaining to her male coworker that her husband is working so much since he got his promotion, she feels lonely. Her friend tells her: "He's crazy! What's money when you have this amazing woman by your side? If I had a woman like you, I'd be over the moon!" When we overshare, we are literally handing the narcissist the answers to a test, we didn't know was taking place! They just check all the boxes. So I tell people now ... if you need someone to talk to about your fractured relationship ... please call an elderly aunt or uncle, who has wisdom and morals, and has a positive outlook on marriage! Stop talking to someone just because it's convenient- a coworker or a mutual friend of a friend. Shut up! Affairs don't begin in bedrooms, they begin with conversation! Betrayal is talking to someone about things that are not his/her business. Affair fog and narcissistic fog, are the same thing.

      Excellent summation of the situation.
      Relatable and understandable for everyone.
      Thank you for your insight.
I will be keeping a copy of your profound statement as a teaching tool for anyone that needs it.
It is a matter of great sadness that the price we pay for wisdom is our innocence.

Great narc 1st video of a narc 101 series
How it starts and the methodology going forward. They are sick buggers…
Thank you for the clarity of the narc mind, how it operates and selects targets/prey

This is part of why I was always scared to believe what he says he was. Especially toward what I didn't wanna have and what could hurt me.. I felt like he was doing things to make sure he wouldnt lose me, would like him etc but I never felt he was showing me his gut.. where Id be like "ah yes ok thats who you are". Some people make me felt calm because I just feel when they speak I connect to it being what they are. But I didn't feel this with him

My narc discarded me and got the new supply, (all within a week) someone who just got out of a toxic relationship. I told her everything he did to me in the relationship. All the abuse, but she stayed. He said she’s used to fighting over dudes because she did that with her ex. I was really trying to warn her but she later played his game in turning me into the crazy ex girlfriend. Parading her on social media. He’s just as crazy and toxic. People don’t change.
