    I love boats and restoring them by myself - a lot of work. It hurts when I see such a nice boat getting beaten.
    Ohhh my big creator let me win the lottery on Wednesday.

      @@timwilkinson2797 No Unfortunately not. I've probably got my lot here in the lottery of life. I never get rich enough for a nice boat. On the other hand, one should not complain too much either. I can get food every day and have a roof over my head. But ... dreams are free so I still dream about a lovely boat.

    Auw that is sad. It is a Sessa C35 or sister model. We had a same one for a week in Croatia as our rental boat. I absolutely loved it. Equipped with 2x 260 hp turbo diesel engines. Pretty spacious in the cabin too. Separate mid cabin with couch and private walk through to the bathroom with head and seperate shower. Nice corner kitchen. Spacious v berth with some small steps up and a nice curved settee. A used 2007 model will cost you between 85000 and 125000 euro depending on the state of the vessel. I really loved the looks and the layout both down bellow and up. Great performance in choppy sea. Very stable and because of the length not to much bow rise during hole shot. Little downside was that the captain seat it too high compared to the windshied. you look against the top rail and over. Also makes you sit in the wind with your head. When using the enclosure canvas you eliminate that but it even blocks the view a bit more because the bottom side of the front canvas is sunbrella like material and after maybe 15 cm it will go over in the seetrough plastic insert. But all with all It was a winner to me.

    Estaba mas seguro arriba de las rocas el del remolque es inesperto lo dejo hundir.cuando un bote tiene una averia y lo van a remolcar no pueden parar la marcha pues el agua entra con mas rapidez.

    Back in the 1960's there was red rubberized bedding compound that boat yards used. Something like thyocol. It usually came in tubes, however you could buy iy in 1 gallon cans. Rescue/ Salvage boats had a number of cans of this fast hardening under water rubberized compound with rags along with wood plugs, patches of pieces of small plywood, all remade and ready to go. . All these components could be coated with the water sealing compound and driven into the holes, preset nails in the plywood pieces, around 2 foot by 2 foot or 1 foot by one foot could be driven into the bottom from the bilge side to drastically slow or stop the water from flowing in. These guys were prepared back then with 1960's 1970's technology. The morons going through the play acting of rescuing this boat are a boatful of unpreparedness, a boatful of excuse makers in an era of spineless men. No rescue/salvage captain worth jack schmitt in the old generation would do what they did, with NO PLANS for holes in the hull when the boat was grinding for hours on the rocks. They should have men on the boat who could scramble into action to work on the bottom. These guys don't think this way. A Salvage captain lived by his reputation of saving the boat, not going through the motions to collect insurance money for a bullshit tow/ salvage job.

    Hard to tell if the outdrive was ripped off. Looks more like there were holes busted in the hull and it was full of water before they pulled it off and being on the rocks is what kept it from sinking. Had an outdrive been ripped off it would not take in water that fast. The that climbed onboard to secure the tow line should have went in the cabin to see if it was full of water. My guess is the water was waist deep in the cabin before it was pulled off.

    Do these people do this for a living? Surely not, I mean if they were really salvagers they would’ve know better or at least known there a 98% chance it’s full of holes in the bottom. The weight of the boat alone could easily poke a hole but this thing was getting slammed.

      ore just do as we did on a 42 feet fishing boat,,, no need to plug holes,,, just put in so many empty oildrums you can fit + tie some on the outside.
      and tow it to a place where you can hoist it on land safely..
      becouse if a boat is beeing smasd against rocks, new holes will appear faster than you can plug them.

    • @happyfox711
      @happyfox711 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      In theory, yes - in reality new holes would appear faster than you could fix the old ones. This is not an easy job, and it has to be removed as fast as possible. The more time you lose to get equipment out there, the worse things will get. Still they could have tried a mad run for the port, if the biggest holes was in the stern. I think they were all along the hull, though, usually making it a total for the insurance company, and left to do damage control i.o.w.try to keep it in one piece more or less until the sea dies down and it can be dealt with.

  • @hv9356
    @hv9356 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    In America, SeaTow will pull a boat like that, with a hole in it, fast enough that it stays a float. Then they radio a head to have a gas powered pump and a lift ready to haul the boat... This was not bright.

    • @happyfox711
      @happyfox711 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I thought about that too, and it could work if they used their brains and hadn't attached it to the front of the rescue boat. Were they going to tow it in reverse ? But it all depends on the holes, If it only was the outdrives it could work, but I think this boat had holes along the hull - it was already very deep in the water when they first pulled it off. Even though someone realized it was important to get it off the rocks fast, they still didn't think ahead for the next step - that it would be equally important to get it to port before it sinks. It's sad, makes me want to punch those guys laughing and taking pictures.. they obviously never had a boat of their own.

    Weel that was REALLY stupid -most boats and ships that hit rocks get holed ! they should have gone inside and checked for water first but they were to rushed and lazy. if there was water inside on the floor then obviously its gonna sink when pulled off the rocks then its 10x hard to recover the sunken boat plus all the electronics etc is ruined by the seawater. In new zealand if you hit rocks the coastguard will tell you to run up the nearest beach and wait for help so they can fix the hole and then refloat the boat

    • @ericbrockhus2518
      @ericbrockhus2518 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      A boat is only a floating bowl in the water. Watertight at the bottom side. made for floating in water. Once on the rocks it will get hole's so not watertight anymore. Take it off the rocks and it will fill up more and sink. Simple as that. There are only two compartments on a boat like this. the engine compartment and the rest. And my guess is that when even one of them will leak more water in than the bilgepumps can pump out it will go down. In this case I guess the hols are pretty big because the boat was smashed on the rocks over and over. The only way to maybe save it had been to secure it as upright as possible on it's spot on the rocks with heavy ropes attached to the shore. wait util the sea is calm and return with a crane barge. then clean it out and try to repair all damage. Big change that it was too late for that too. if the water is on the inside it will penetrate into all wires and interior. Engines will be salty inside etc. Whole operation will cost more than scrapping it and buy an other boat. This is a Sessa C35 or a sister model of the same brand. We rented a similar in Croatia. Great Boat. So nice. A used one from the year 2007 will cost you between 85000 and 125000 euro depending on hours on the egines and general state of the vessel. But a long story short. Every normal boat will sink with damage like this.

    From the rock to the bottom in a couple tugs of a rope.... WTF? Nobody pulls a boat in reverse... Tugs don't even do it in shipyards. Had they pulled it properly, it would have bailed water until they got wherever it needed to go. After the drive ripped off, it really didn't have a chance at being saved anyway.... 4 kit...
