I have to agree with everyone else. It is nice to take them out for a thrill ride. But Having kids in the back with no PFD on and doing 95 MPH is just brain dead. One nice bump and you'd see one of those kids airborne very quickly and at 95 MPH they wound not be conscious after hitting the water. Chances are that's not a captain just a guy who bought a fast boat.
I have to agree with most here,,,, what a total tool ! No life jackets,,,,people STANDING in the cockpit,,,,I don't care if they can hold on,,,,catch a chine and its instantly a 90 mph left turn. Guys like him are why we all pay such high insurance premiums,,, Just because you have enough $$ for a boat like this,,doesn't mean you are good enough to drive it. I partly blame the dealers for letting just anyone buy /drive a boat like this.
This video shows all the wrong things about safe boating. Nothing wrong going fast, but children standing freely, no pfds and accident waiting to happen. Very poor captain's call on this ride.
7 lives and not one lifejacket or PFD. I truly hope that you never manage to kill or maim anyone by posing around on your little toy there. As much as the kid in the front enjoyed himself, it seems hard to believe that he didn't even have a safety harness on. Speeds like that and the water feels like concrete when you hit it. A great "How not to..." video, thanks.
+MrTatts64 Totally agree. Others on here say he was good on the throttles and that that was almost enough - but you never know when something is going to break and throw the boat any which way. Safety FIRST!!!!
+MrTatts64 you sound like a bunch of sissy girls, do some research, ive been around boats my whole life, there are boats at Lake Havasu doing well over 100mph daily. this is not something new. 95 mph now a days is truly not that bad
+Shane Wanjon Research? Almost 50 years I been on and around boats, small ships, bulk carriers, fishing boats, sailing boats and dredgers. Assuming you have the experience you claim to have, you will realise how "hard" water is at those kinda speeds when you hit the stuff with your body. That doesn't even begin to cover the risk to life if the boat is flipped or rolled and looking at this fantastic helmsman I would say that such a thing would have a more than fair chance of occurring. Now, if you look at the pro's. Those who actually do this stuff (racing boats in this case) for a living, you will see that they're always in some kind of life saving device. But hey, what do they know, eh? They just do this stuff to earn their money and travel all over the place doing so. Huge difference on the water or land between those who genuinely know what they are doing and those who think they do, don't you think?!?
If the props spin too fast in the air with no resistance they may break the crank shaft when they hit the water resistance (this is overly simple but you get the idea).
I'd like to sum this all up! First off, this is a powerboat, and the objective of this boat is to go fast offshore. This boat is made to go 95mph and is safe when operated correctly. However, I would not be going that fast with a full boat including children and no jackets. Dude have you lost your mind? Everyone should be buckeled in and have jackets if you want to go that fast!. You almost lost your daughter out the back, and your son easily could have banged his head. Your giving us powerboaters a bad image, and your the reason insurance premiums are through the roof.
Should be strapped in? Why has this comment got so many likes? When would you ever stap a person to a boat? That's ridiculous, you clearly know nothing if your going to strap a person to s boat with a open cabin like this
I meant sitting in a safe position and not all standing like rag dolls. Its called a 6 point safety belt handjob!! Would you go 95 mph with your kids standing or would you safely secure them. The point is he should not have been going THAT FAST WITH KIDS STANDING IN THE BOAT! 2011 50' Marauder owner here, so I do know a thing or two and I have 4 6 point safety belts in my boat that I advise everyone to wear if I was going 80mph plus and I sure as hell would not have kids under 5 ft tall standing.
I am not even a boater. The first thing I noticed was the lack of life jackets. Kids don't know any better it is up to adults to keep them safe. You failed on this day. How do you know you won't hit something in the water and everyone flies out of the boat?
Just because you can afford the boat doesn't mean you know to drive it. Get different throttle controls the ones you have are for a 50 ft trauler. I took some lessons from a Scarab racing team driver. Well worth the money
Nothing wrong with doing speed runs with people in the boat - what I don't like seeing here is no one has a life jacket on - the kid is just being a kid and having fun but should be sitting down in a seat -and that's up to the captain to enforce - Once you get on plane your riding an edge anyways and even a 90 lb kid rocking back and forth can cause havoc when your at WOT I have a 38 fountain that runs mid 90's and no way do I open it up without people having their life jacket on or let them ( or their kids ) just hang on while standing up . The captain here has no clue on how violent things can turn in a split second by hitting the wrong wave the wrong way. I love speed but I also respect what you need to do in order to enjoy its safely without putting your passengers at risk just so you can show off your toy, Guys like this are the reason people get hurt -
Everyone makes some great pists about this guys lack of being a responsible captain, father, husband, etc. Everyone aboard that boat should have a l life jacket on, regardless of how seaworthy the boat is, or even how fast he wants to go. Nor does it look like he has a dead man/kill switch attached to himself. He mentioned that they were headed for open seas too. One rogue wave and lives can forever be changed or even ended. The young boy is in the captains view and not seated (& in the roughest part of the vessel to ride). The idiocy was so abundant that I couldn't watch it all. I halfway expected to see him chug tequila... I hope he sees these posts and takes them into consideration the next time he's on the water. I don't care how experienced he thinks he is-I grew up in the industry & have seen speeds faster than most have on land. I would *never* risk my guests or my own safety as exhibited on this video. It should be titled "How Not to Go Boating with the Family"
I'd really like to know how my statements are arrogant. If I offended you, please accept my apologies. If you're the boater, please take my "arrogance" to heart. The last thing I want to be is a troll or antagonistic, but I've seen too many easily preventable accidents, injuries, and more than a couple of fatalities. EVERY one of the fatalities were preventable, two were close friends that would be alive, only by wearing a PFD. One of them was a professional water skier and knew better. Maybe my personal experiences make me a little more aggressive in thinking that the captain is responsible for his and his passengers safety. Anything else kinda pisses me off. Regards, Bruce.
***** No...Arrogance would be thinking I bought a Donzi so nothing bad is going to happen screaming across the water at 95mph...one of those kids could have easily bounced out of the cockpit and then what smart guy.
***** a rouge wave? really? come on dude... Yea I totally agree that they should be sitting down... but federal law states as longs as you have enough life jackets in the boat you are covered
Ok your cool your boat goes fast but not your brains, your crew looked like they were in more discomfort than having fun. Next time you go out consider your crews safety first.
Yah, I agree... even understanding calm seas, good conditions, and no obvious boats around throwing side wake... this is the perfect recipe for disaster. Some posts talk about no life vests, yah ok, but the inside of that cockpit will kill you before you ever hit the water ! One bad side-chine at that speed and someones neck or back is broke... believe it !
Very nice stable boat, but much irresponsibility from the driver in not taking enough precaution, including life vests. Much Gs are reached in a boat slam which could severe the optical nerve!
You cannot sit in many of these boats at speed. My brother had an Outer Limits on Lake Michigan and I never recall sitting. It is safer to stand, have your knees bent, and be properly braced. The pounding is immense. You are much more likely to get thrown when sitting. I don't even think it is possible to sit, it would be painful, and you could be thrown. He also had a little Donzi that you could sit in on choppy water but not the Outer Limits. That being said, the kid is not braced properly and I do not understand the lack of life jackets.
***** Your are right. however I count 2 passengers that are not in seats at all. One appears to be a minor the other an adult. These are the ones that would be safer if seated. I see unsafe boating on the lake every weekend, most of the time nothing bad ever happens. Frankly, if someone wants to be unsafe its there business, unless their actions causes undo risk to others. Bottom line is that the captain/owner of the boat is responsible for the safety of its passengers.
The skipper was paying attention and careful on when and where he hit the throttle for this go-fast boat ride. That's 99% of the safety factor right there. Hanging onto hand rails very tightly comes natural to passengers at speed. You don't buy a Donzi to troll!
Been in boats all life anyone going that fast in anything, w/o everyone sitting, with a life jacket & kill chords for everyone is irresponible. Excuse typos. Using phone.
Hi there this is Kurt the owner of the boat I agree all passengers on board should have life jackets on .This was a 10 day on conditions and last minute to take kids out . Yes I am wrong for that choice as far as throttling you all don't know or have never driven a 700 boat with NXT drives .For the people who have they tend to keep quit I am a pro thanks for watching and stop hating ....
Nice boat ! risky with kids on board going that fast. I think 50-60 would been enough what if you hit something floating you didn't see between swells.
They make these inflatable life vests that are not cumbersome at all...They are expensive, but if you own that boat, you can afford them. BTW I own a 30FT Scarab and my 11 yr old has his vest on from when he gets on the boat untill the boat is stopped. Why take a chance?.
Look at the video "Seven Person Boat Crash" for what CAN happen. This man is a dangerous idiot. Too bad the Coast Guard wasn't nearby to stop him for negligent operation.
Calm yourself. The sea conditions are not comparable to the video you're talking about. I'd also say this boat would have been lucky to hit 80mph in this video.
A El EVer heard of "freak wave"? Ever heard of rudder/propeller failure? There are SO many things that can go wrong, not least of which is a bone-headed move by the idiot at the helm. This is irresponsible boat operation. Potentially lethally irresponsible.
All fun till someone gets killed hey? Up in Winnipeg Manitoba have fun and be safe this summer on Lake Winnipeg and all the beautiful lakes with in 2 hour drive.
well, that was about the dumbest thing I've ever watched on youtube-good thing you put the operator's lanyard on in case you was ejected while failing to consider passengers safety the entire time-if someone is ejected from the vessel; the likelihood of getting knocked out on impact is high-you don't swim then-bubbles is all
Looks like fun. Not. Guys like this that keep the coast guard busy and away from those of us that actually can enjoy the water with some sort of responsibility. Boat is probably very nice. If you observe the look on peoples faces after about 30 seconds of their beating you can actually see a look of uncomfortable and fear. Yet he keeps going. Dickhead operating friend. Sole responsibility of you as a so called captain of your craft is the safety and comfort of your passengers. Something you have shown no regard for. Too bad. Just hope we don't read about this guy running through a boat at anchor. Probably does this in the dark too. Godspeed
man you should be more careful with your kid... You get a little to much air and he falls off at 95 the end result isn't great. Otherwise nice boat man!
Driver you need serious lessons on running your throttle. Your gonna kill your outdrive system playing feather with the throttle. Rev limiters on newer Donzis stall the prop shaft on purpose so you dont have to.
+DivnaBiH "those of you who complain" are more than likely the ones who have had an incident, of one sort or another. If you've never had an incident, your just plain lucky, those of us who have, posses a knowledge you do not...In my case, I had a passenger get knocked out cold....riding in our boat exactly like this kid in the front.
I understand, it's no different than sitting in a car, on a roller coaster, or anything else...you take on a risk. If you're not okay with the risk then you wouldn't be doing it.
DivnaBiH I understand risks, as a motorcyclist also ,I am well aware of the concept of risk however I wear a helmet, I am not stupid, I manage risks. Simple easy decisions can reduce risks without negating the thrill of all of this...
DivnaBiH Thank you... the "incident" I was referring to was an outing on our 18 1/2 ft Reinell boat, our neighbor was riding up front, like this kid...In Portland Oregon there is the "meeting" of the Columbia river & the Willamette river, the water gets kinda crazy there, we were traversing this water at speed & got some "air"...our neighbor bounced his head off the floor...we laughed at him for awhile, till we noticed he wasn't getting up, he was out for maybe just 30 seconds worth, & a big knot on his forehead. That was one of three "incidents", & the only one where someone got hurt.
Nice Video, That boat is stunning, I want one, The driver knew what he was doing as at no time did he lose or feel out of control, Even his throttle work was good, as for the engines ,,, they were never stressed, ok L Bs should have been worn, If you want to see how to do it wrong watch ,,,EPIC BOAT WIPEOUT!
+Robert Daborn That's a hell of a lot more than 50 mph. My 430 HP Sea Doo 210 Challenger SE tops out at 55 mph, and there is no way my boat could even touch this speed. Not even close. 50 lol
yeah now i look at it the sea state it is lot less than i acounted for as i live in the uk and we have big waves to fight so for use ribs can go way faster than speed boats in the open sea.
+IrishChris1979 My Grady 20 with a 225 tops out at 50 (GPS) this could be going that fast. It's really ripping. I have to agree with the life jackets , when things get hairy I make everyone wear one, like when run a rough inlet, other wise we don't. Here I would have said guys I'm going to open her up, jackets on, sit down and hold on tight! I'm sure you care about your kids, do the right thing.
Good family fun.I have some amazing memories with the family just off the coast with my family. Dad likes to go fast every once in a while. Big deal. If he has the money to buy a boat of that caliber, chances are he knows how to drive it. Way to pass on the love of the hobby man.
Maybe not so bad after watching a couple times. The driver checks on the kids often and the boy in front knows to hold on. I guess not so bad for a quick rip. Thumbs up. Nice boat, nice kids.
Good reply Kurt. (3 months ago) Good on you. Looks like a great boat. I've done a bit of rescueing and like others have said here it does make it easier for us if people wear life jackets. But cheers - thanks for the vid.
One last thing we where only going 60 to 70 tops and it was flat out .The roost is like that on 700 boats with the drives all in it flattens out the faster you go .
Driving 75 mph on the freeway without wearing a helmet is common and not considered dangerous by most, so what's the big beef about going fast in a boat???.
All jealous guy that can not afford a boat like this.... The thing i don't like about it, is that they don't wear a life jacket, and the kid should be sitting. No more. Every day is a risk, you only live once. The possibility of writing comments should be switched off on this video. No more whining.
Just goes to show you don't have to be smart to be rich!!! Or maybe he is just an average guy that over spent on his boat and can't afford jackets :) Judging by his throttle skills, I'm thinking he must own a Harley
Anyone saying nothing wrong with this picture clearly does not own a boat nor common sense.
Not one life jacket in sight, a kid standing at the front and doing 95mph. Now I know what they mean when they say more money than brains.
The sad part is those kids don't have a clue just how quick that deal can go south.
This video shows all the wrong things about safe boating. Nothing wrong going fast, but children standing freely, no pfds and accident waiting to happen. Very poor captain's call on this ride.
Unreal...This guy shouldn't even own a boat being that careless. He put everyone in that boat at risk including himself.

+Shane Wanjon it's common sense to throw vests on kids. if adults want to accept the risks that's their call.
Not one lifejacket in sight, 95mph with no eye protection or PFD, I would never do this with my family.
You were left with the choice to be better than what you didn't like growing up.
If the props spin too fast in the air with no resistance they may break the crank shaft when they hit the water resistance (this is overly simple but you get the idea).
I've seen children in africa less fascinated by a camera
Life jackets for kids always no exception dude.
And now, an idiot-boat-captain haiku:
I drive boat real fast
passengers lives are placed at risk
my ego knows no bounds
I'd like to sum this all up! First off, this is a powerboat, and the objective of this boat is to go fast offshore. This boat is made to go 95mph and is safe when operated correctly. Yes indeed...
you bring the throttle down when you hit a big wave
Just because you can afford the boat doesn't mean you know to drive it. Get different throttle controls the ones you have are for a 50 ft trauler. I took some lessons from a Scarab racing team driver. Well worth the money

A few of my parents best friends were seriously injured in a boat crash and their father killed. It was in a boat like this.
The captain (LOL!) straps on the kill switch but forgot his Lifeline!!! It's people like this that cause other people to get hurt.
And that my friends is how you burn 20 gallons of gas in 60 seconds.
Very nice stable boat, but much irresponsibility from the driver in not taking enough precaution, including life vests. Much Gs are reached in a boat slam which could severe the optical nerve!

95 mph my ass.
are people nuts ,to fast, no life jackets ,to much beer......
Nice boat. You have people and children with no PFD? Wow. Nice job.
And you really need life jackets anything after 70 you've probably just been real lucky!!
Aren't the kids in hta back below the legal age for wearing a life jacket?
Oducks58 at 95 mph, everyone should have a pfd!
that kid was soo close to smashing his face on that rail
The driver of this boat has that 'I can do anything I want' attitude so common these days ... it's just hateful and crude.
Why would you not ensure that at least the kids have on a life jacket......unreal
Ok firstly I am a certified boat-smart pleasure craft operator and no one is wearing a life vest or any kind of safety vest
No way would I have passengers on my Fountain w/o lifejackets. Nor would I be making top speed runs with passengers... JMO
The Donzi still rules.
It's all about him , poor kids I've lost my dad in speed boat
All the money with no sense
That kid should have been sitting, very easy to get hurt standing like that....
It would be safer if everyone on the boat was seated.

deepkeel65 Agreed. Hit a submerged piece of driftwood at that speed and watch those kids start to pinwheel right off the damn boat.
The operator of this boat must have an IQ of about 15! No safety harnesses or PFD's for anyone on board, not a shred of common sense.
Love how the kid is riding it like a super powered skateboard, weeeeee
Please don't make another video like this with no life vest on, Its just stupid !
Great looking children. The boy in the front was having a ball. How tragic would it be if one died? Get those kids in vests and properly seated. :(
Always love Donzi vids but....why in all that's holy do you have the drive trimmed up? Excellent conditions and perfect chop....
definitely don't put a life jacket on the kids

Just hope we don't read about this guy running through a boat at anchor. Probably does this in the dark too. Godspeed
man you should be more careful with your kid... You get a little to much air and he falls off at 95 the end result isn't great. Otherwise nice boat man!
Driver you need serious lessons on running your throttle. Your gonna kill your outdrive system playing feather with the throttle. Rev limiters on newer Donzis stall the prop shaft on purpose so you dont have to.
Those of you that complain have never enjoyed a boat have you. Keep it up man! Rides very nice. Nice and calm water also!
Yes, that is true. Stay safe Ricardo! Wish you the best and best of luck.

Thank you... the "incident" I was referring to was an outing on our 18 1/2 ft Reinell boat, our neighbor was riding up front, like this kid...In Portland Oregon there is the "meeting" of the Columbia river & the Willamette river, the water gets kinda crazy there, we were traversing this water at speed & got some "air"...our neighbor bounced his head off the floor...we laughed at him for awhile, till we noticed he wasn't getting up, he was out for maybe just 30 seconds worth, & a big knot on his forehead. That was one of three "incidents", & the only one where someone got hurt.
Nice Video, That boat is stunning, I want one, The driver knew what he was doing as at no time did he lose or feel out of control, Even his throttle work was good, as for the engines ,,, they were never stressed, ok L Bs should have been worn, If you want to see how to do it wrong watch ,,,EPIC BOAT WIPEOUT!
thats exactly what i was thinking
god forbid the captain smile lol...
could someone tell me why, and is it neccesary to operate with throttle like that?
what is it for, what are the benefits and rules?
If you drove for me you would be fired. This I sun adulterated bs!
What is this Alfredo guy talking about? "Abnormals" is English not your first language?
not 95mph my be like 50mph tops
+Robert Daborn
That's a hell of a lot more than 50 mph.
+IrishChris1979
My Grady 20 with a 225 tops out at 50 (GPS) this could be going that fast.
Life jackets please,....
If you hit a floating log at that speed that boat is toast.
nailed it
My uncle has a nice power boat in OC MD it's has 1,500 hp
Good family fun.I have some amazing memories with the family just off the coast with my family. Dad likes to go fast every once in a while. Big deal. If he has the money to buy a boat of that caliber, chances are he knows how to drive it. Way to pass on the love of the hobby man.
Amazing video!! love the boat!
One way to burn through a few hundred dollars of gas. Me, I'd rather do it in comfort on a Hargrave or such like.
Not to bright !! None of my buisiness but At those speeds its like hittin concrete but then again as long as you look cool doin it i guess . .
the sound is great. Thanks for the video
the kid in front rocks
I'm sure they were doing about 90+.
Is the thang in the white shirt a boy or a girl? And why is it tryin' to make every wave so dramatic?
and we are very proud about you. well, speak again when you own 2 oceancos or 2 feadships...
Bad Ass boat !
One last thing we where only going 60 to 70 tops and it was flat out .The roost is like that on 700 boats with the drives all in it flattens out the faster you go .
Awesome, Ive been 95mph on water, but not in such a fancy boat.
Driving 75 mph on the freeway without wearing a helmet is common and not considered dangerous by most, so what's the big beef about going fast in a boat???.
someone answer me please, what model donzi speeder was this
Man! thats just good trolling speed!
All jealous guy that can not afford a boat like this....
The thing i don't like about it, is that they don't wear a life jacket, and the kid should be sitting.
No more.
Every day is a risk, you only live once.
The possibility of writing comments should be switched off on this video. No more whining.
You took the words right out of my fingers! Lifejackets for everyone, especially the kids.
Awesome ride, see the positive of it..
Johnny Quest?
Just goes to show you don't have to be smart to be rich!!! Or maybe he is just an average guy that over spent on his boat and can't afford jackets :)
Judging by his throttle skills, I'm thinking he must own a Harley
It's a work out just to hold from falling I like it
